96 year old woman who was once the richest woman in the world lives 2 decades past the average life expectancy.

She's had a cracking life, but noone can complain that it's her time to go. It'd be sad if she was 36 and it was before her time, but it's not. She's had a great life, and she's probably knackered herself and happy with everything she's accomplished.
There'll be big changes in the monarchy I think after she goes I think, sad but I expected her to have a few more years like the queen mother.

Fecking hell. You guys…
I'm not sure if you're saying that to me directly or the English in general, i'm just telling you what's likely to happen.

They've pretty much hinted at it already that sporting events and such won't be going ahead.

Clearly you dislike the Queen and people have their reasons, but in England it's a pretty big deal.

Whether we like it or not, I can't see the PL being on this weekend or maybe even next.

I’m getting more and more angry about the idea that the Europa league games should be cancelled…
Think it's too late to cancel the european games tonight, Arsenal will be kicking off at 5.45pm so you can't really start and have them walking off the pitch.

Can't see premier league games going ahead given the apparent protocol's in place. Really hope they don't cancel the following week's fixtures (at least non London fixtures) as that would be a little too much.

Think there's an embargo until 6pm, I expect an announcement in 1 hour 15 minutes that she's passed.

There's rumours that ITV is already readying the death outcome news, and BBC too. This is the time they're preparing to break the news in full IMO.
We do that all the time to be ready. You don't get that much notice

If she's passes away before this weekend I would imagine all this weekends fixtures professional and amateur in the UK will be postponed out of respect.

I would imagine that would be it though, they will find room in the schedule somewhere for the postponed fixtures.
Cancelling NFL games the immediate weekend after JFK’s assassination on a Friday was then-commissioner Pete Rozelle’s biggest regret of his career.

Be lucky if it's just this weekend's PL fixtures. The actual funeral will likely fall on the next weekend and aside from anything else I wonder how well the police would actually be able to manage a weekend of PL fixtures and the Queens's funeral at the same time.
London ones certainly wouldn't have the resources given they'll be 1m + coming in to line the streets, would have to play either side of the funeral and that might not be possible.

Ironic that the Queen will have a bigger impact on this country when she dies compared to while she was alive.

Truth like rain don't give a feck who it falls on.

I don't think it's sad at all. I think sadness is reserved for something unfortunate, ie her dying in her 30s with so much of her life ahead of her, or that she's someone we're related to that we have an active relationship with and will miss.

For a person none of us know or have any kind of relationship with it's to all intents and purposes just a person who lived to almost 100 dying and there's nothing sad about that, rather something to celebrate that they were able to experience decades on this planet that most of us will not. And that's before you get to the potential murder, and helping obstruct sex crimes. Death at 96 should be celebrated for the amazing feat that it is and everything that person achieved.

I don't think there will be any changes to the monarchy, Charles has been wanting to be king so badly, and I reckon William will be right behind him when his time comes. I don't see anyone in the family bar Harry wanting to make real change and Harry isn't a prospect anyway.

Yeah I work in media and the stuff that has to happen is interesting. Really an odd time for everyone
Local government and NHS organisations have already been told to suspend routine and scheduled comms.

96 and old age I think currently is a great age though for her as a monarch I don't think will be beaten.

I do see this Monarchy as going through huge changes under a new monarch.

I think she's definitely had a great life, her husband has died and of course all her state visits has definitely taken its toll. I wouldn't be surprised Truss who is around 100s of people in Parliament maybe during the tail end of a pandemic isn't wise but she certainly leaves a huge legacy.

Apparently Daily Mail won’t have any advertising in the next edition after she dies. Mark of respect. Yes, that’s the Daily Mail apparently worrying about an ethical issue.
It will fill the extra space with 50 articles about Meghan Markle driving her to her grave.

Not sure how they'd manage to do so given the already condensed season and WC. There's literally no time for them to spare with games being missed.
