He is giving me serious Anderson vibes with his fitness, has about 20 mins of decent intensity in him and then is blowing.

I think the opposite of excitement can be defined by my face when we need a goal with 20 minutes left, and he comes on

Very poor tonight. Our play broke down and became slower with him pretty much every time he got on it. Not sure what that effort at the back post was supposed to be either. I still think he’s going to be a star player for us but he needs a lot more intensity.

He was again absolutely dreadful. He seems to have an aversion to going towards the penalty area. I don't think he's at the required level to get us back challenging for the big titles. Our big money signings just seem to be flop after flop.
Wait for Antony too. I just have a bad feeling about him as well. Elanga did lot of things correctly today what Sancho and Antony couldn't do.

What exactly is he good at apart from being decent technically? No pace, can't beat a man over a distance, no strength, can't impose himself in the game.

People defending him because he's scored 2 goals in the league so far :houllier::houllier:

Do you need reminding that he's in the bottom 20th percentile of assists for wingers, 49th for actual goals and 39th for expected goals. The only thing he does well is carry the ball.

Horrific cameo. Did make a sprint where he looked fast, but still lost the ball.

He really needs a mentality reset or something, it was absolutely pathetic watching the lack of intensity & urgency from him as a sub tonight. Fred & Lisandro Martinez contributed more to the attack in those 20 minutes that Sancho was on.

I'll give him the end of the season but so far he looks a complete dud. That damn Bundesliga tax has got us again. Typical that it's us that gets Sancho, Kagawa and Schweinsteiger while City get De Bruyne, Gundogan and Haaland.

I don’t understand this guy at all. I swear he was so much faster a few years back. He is basically offering us nothing right now. He can’t beat a man ever and really doesn’t offer much threat at all

He will probably be found out like Wan Bissaka.

Players like Neto, Saka, Bowen are a level above. I think Sancho is probably a similar level to Barnes and Harrison.

He’s never been fast.

Did anyone have any confidence that he'd improve our chances of winning when he came on? Kind of sums up his level really.

Can't keep starting seasons this badly. I think he's done it every season of his professional career so far. He always comes back unfit and seemingly unfocused.

Can see why he racked up disciplinary question marks at Dortmund (poor conditioning, late for training, missing training, senior players and coaches publicly calling him out).

Hopefully he'll get it going at some point like last season, but it's unacceptable.

I'm concerned about his work ethic. I'm not saying he's chubby but he hasn't looked in peak shape for me since he came. If he's not serious enough about his body, why would he be about his football.

I was always wary of the hype around him when he almost always seemed to struggle in the NT. That indicates that he is a player that was very reliant on a certain system to get the best out of him.

Still, it is the lack of effort that was worrying though, and the fact that both Elanga and even Garnacho seemed more intense and did more than him.

I always found a bit odd that people used to be so insistant he should be picked over Rashford for England at the time... Rashford always looked far, far superior.

Lingard 2.0?
Tbf, Lingard showed more than Sancho for a few seasons, albeit over the course of a longer period. A young Lingard had much better stamina, was more industrious, and a lot faster. Sancho's technique/touch is better, but that's not enough.

It might be a lazy comparison, but it's so similar to Mkhitaryan and Kagawa at United so far.

Not looking good, is it. I just don’t know what kind of player he is at this point. All the ingredients seem to be there but for some reason it’s not happening for him.
