Could go on either list but to me, it's more action than a traditional war movie despite the film not having that much action in it.
- Terminator 2
- The Raid
- Die Hard 2
- Bourne Identity
- Speed
Is the first Rambo a war film ? It's more action no.... If it is I will have to fit it in here.
Recency bias at play maybe but I did score it a 10/10 when it came out.The Northman? Really? Surprising
Which seagull?Is that the sequel?
Why you gotta do that?1. Die Hard
2. Face Off
3. Predator
4. Gladiator
5. Terminator 2
8ish. Con Air
What a movie!1. Police story
2. Kill bill
3. Wheels on meals
4. Mad max 2
5. Bourne identity
no idea what the order should be really
Just acknowledging it's a great action film but doesn't quite make my top five. I knew Die Hard was my favourite and Face Off would definitely be in there, after that there are many that I hold in similar esteem. Why you gotta do that?
Yeah I know that Nic Cage is a bit of a meme but don't get the jokes about Con Air. It's an excellent action movie.Just acknowledging it's a great action
I would say no, it is set after the Vietnam War.
- Terminator 2
- The Raid
- Die Hard 2
- Rambo
- Bourne Identity

Need more heroes like you.
- Gladiator
- The Matrix
- The Running Man
- Con Air
- Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
I might have missed it but so far it doesn't seem like anyone has mentioned any John Woo films.I'm surprised by the lack of The Raid votes. Probably one of the best modern martial arts films. It's so fecking good.
Nah they're just not particularly good movies. No love for Tarantino at all. Did i miss a genre?
Kill Bill is mainly the one for this. You can have Inglorious Basterds in War, Pulp Fiction in crime and Django as a western. Dogs probs crime/thriller.No love for Tarantino at all. Did i miss a genre?
Which ocean would you prefer to drown into?Nah they're just not particularly good movies.
Django Unchained and Inglorious Bastards and Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill 1 & 2 are excellent. No love for Tarantino at all. Did i miss a genre?
I don't trust your tallying up. You've been bullying everyone into voting for Nic Cage's hairpiece.Just tallied up the first 5 page. Positions 1-4 I think have their place secured. But the final position is VERY close between 5 movies... Any of them can take it. The current 5th spot is 2 points ahead of 6th...
You seem to like him A LOT. Apart for Kill Bill, I wouldn't really think of his flicks as great action films, Pulp Fiction will probably make it into the crime top 5.No love for Tarantino at all. Did i miss a genre?
If it helps, I really like his early work, I just think he disappeared too far up his own ass from Basterds onwards.Which ocean would you prefer to drown into?
You forgot Die Hard 2, Die Hard 4 and Die Hard 51. Die Hard
2. Die Hard with a Vengeance
3. The Rock
4. The Matrix
5. Terminator 2
I'd say his movies mostly fall in other categories. Stuff like Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown definitely qualify as crime movies, then there's Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight which are sort-of westerns and I guess Inglourious Basterds counts as a war movie. Once Upon a Time is more of a comedy. The Kill Bills and Deathproof are his only movies I'd call action. No love for Tarantino at all. Did i miss a genre?
Face/Off & The Killer have votes. A few others probably too.I might have missed it but so far it doesn't seem like anyone has mentioned any John Woo films.
Why did she need a Redcafe thread to watch itThanks to this thread I could finally convince my GF to watch Terminator 2 together.
Here's her review.
Good:
- The humor
- The plot was more interesting than she expected
Bad:
- "OH GOD NOT ANOTHER CHASING SEQUENCE"
- Me speaking half of the dialog lines along the actors
I have been petitioning for it but no, I'm honest in the tally. Spoiler... It won't make itI don't trust your tallying up. You've been bullying everyone into voting for Nic Cage's hairpiece.
Ah cheers.Face/Off & The Killer have votes. A few others probably too.
I did consider this but it would limit conversation and recommendations (already added a bunch to my personal watchlist) and at the end of the day, that is what this is all about.Would have been interesting if we weren't able to see peoples lists. Feel like I was skewed a little bit.
Action is a tough genre though, so many good ones. I feel like the others will be easier.
I did put a poll up and I think it's like 75% in favour of genres so yeah, democracy.Just do it by year and make it a long-running, once a week thing.
Genre just doesn't work. People voting genre need their heads checked.
Bit of an odd thing to get your head checked over.Just do it by year and make it a long-running, once a week thing.

I don't think I've seen 4&5You forgot Die Hard 2, Die Hard 4 and Die Hard 5
