Definitely, and Iran are terrible no doubting itI was just making a general observation. Iran has a bigger population than both combined

It doesn't, it's semi automated as I think they have to select the players to look at. There was a feck up in the CL where they didn't look at a player and gave it offside when it wasntIt automatically checks all players. In this case the player closest was the the defender closest to goal, via his foot. Camera angles don't always help to make it clear.
England beat iran of all teams they won’t be playing them every nightI reckon England would fancy their chances if they came up against this Argentina side. They look very beatable.
You forget Southgate's favourite style of football.A big side will be more open than this it's worth noting too, Saudi have two blocks of five against them.
that was 4 years ago, Saudi looks far better now and Argentina have had and full goals that were unfortunately offsideI have not been impressed with Argentina so far, expect them to be up by 3 goals by now. Or maybe Saudi Arabia isn't as weak as I thought. This is the same Saudi Arabia that got thrashed by Russia 0-5 in the last World Cup.
What are you babbling on about? I have clearly said they may bring a 3rd midfielder in for later games as had another poster.they have plenty of midfield options on the bench, they obviously wouldn’t play a 2 man midfield against all teams. Haven’t lost in nearly 3 years but keep making prisoner of the moment comments
Correct. Iran are atrocious regardless of what the world rankings say. They may be 20th in the world but they're not even close to being the 20th best team in the world.England beat iran of all teams they won’t be playing them every night
It's offside. Did you wake up without your glasses on today or somethingThat's horrible.
More like Argentina's front line (Martinez aside) are all in their mid-30s now, hence the offsides.that was 4 years ago, Saudi looks far better now and Argentina have had and full goals that were unfortunately offside
Birdseye view always gives the best view, wish they'd share that footage more often as can clear up conspiracies.Don't think they're used anymore? it's a shirt with long under arm thermal now
nah watch the replay from looking above - it's just an optical illusion the LB was actually ahead of the centre backs
They won the last Copa America, but aside from winning against Brazil in the semifinal or final, I don't remember them playing any strong team for the last 3 years.haven’t lost in nearly 3 years but okay
Saudi Arabia have a different coach to 2018. I think they've made Argentins look poor with a compact shape and very well coordinated pressing from the from the front. They're one of the most well organised sides we're likely to see in this tournament.I have not been impressed with Argentina so far, expect them to be up by 3 goals by now. Or maybe Saudi Arabia isn't as weak as I thought. This is the same Saudi Arabia that got thrashed by Russia 0-5 in the last World Cup.
What if the person who is offside doesn't score the goal?Controversial opinion but I feel a goal should only be given offside if the player actually scores with the body part is offside.
People thinking offsides are wrong is one of my new annoyances. You're being followed by the camera angle not looking at it straight. I'm sorry to say people get this wrong all the time.
They will be in their green and white away shirts.Hope big screens up in Newcastle for this game.
It’s absurd how it wasn’t given.Sure it's been said, but how was that Argentina one a penalty via VAR but yet VAR dismissed the one on Maguire yesterday (which was much worse surely?)
What it they control it with the offside shoulder but tuck it in with their left foot? What if the person who is offside doesn't score the goal?
Lo Celso is usually the third man in midfield. Here they have obviously gone for Gomez to add more creativity, probably will have Enzo replace him in the tougher gamesProblem is Messi isn’t going to do the legwork and so interesting if they bring in another midfielder for the later games and perhaps have gone more open in this one.
Obviously but my point was more about the fact that defensively and in midfield Argentina have looked quite vulnerable. They have immense attacking power but Southgate loves his 5 at the back.Correct. Iran are atrocious regardless of what the world rankings say. They may be 20th in the world but they're not even close to being the 20th best team in the world.
Hungary are ranked 16 spots below them and destroyed this same England team 0-4 in England.
That’s not how it works though is it?Correct. Iran are atrocious regardless of what the world rankings say. They may be 20th in the world but they're not even close to being the 20th best team in the world.

Because VAR is inconsistent as feck, we know this from the PL every week.Sure it's been said, but how was that Argentina one a penalty via VAR but yet VAR dismissed the one on Maguire yesterday (which was much worse surely?)
Saudi Arabia finished 1 point ahead of Japan in their qualifying group and I know a number of very good Japanese players so they have to be pretty good. Always thought they were probably being underrated a bit because of that. This SA team could be different from 4 years ago. There seem to be quite a few differences in today's lineup from the one that faced Russia in 2018. I think they've looked very well organised also, really compact and generally forcing Argentina either wide or long, and their offside trap has been brilliant and timed to perfection, so manager might be a difference also.I have not been impressed with Argentina so far, expect them to be up by 3 goals by now. Or maybe Saudi Arabia isn't as weak as I thought. This is the same Saudi Arabia that got thrashed by Russia 0-5 in the last World Cup.
To be fair, all the Asian teams are unlucky this time round, they are in very tough groups.Saudi Arabia actually restoring some pride for the Asian teams at this world cup. They've looked reasonably competitive.
Norway is above Scotland on elorating. Hungary 19th and Iran 30th. No idea why people look at fifa ranking when actually a good ranking system exists. That’s not how it works though is it?
I’d fancy a few teams ranked below Scotland to beat them comfortably. Norway for example.
then why complain about a 2 man midfield initially? You keep making pointless commentsWhat are you babbling on about? I have clearly said they may bring a 3rd midfielder in for later games as had another poster.
Not if they keep getting soft penaltiesArgentina aren't all that, to be honest. Weird so many people put then forward as favorites. Can see them getting found out soon as they play a serious team.
