If the club is bought by blood soaked head choppers or other dodgy State scumbags I'm done.

If you had to choose oil money (like MBS personally buying the club) or Putin….

You definitely bought Twitter blue didn't you

You just have to laugh at the fact Elon still has his tribe fighting for him after he destroyed Twitter because the smart people there showed how clueless he is.

Anyone who thinks he'll be a good owner should prepare to be thrown in jail for wearing the equivalent of a green and yellow scraf if things get nasty with him.

Seeing as I’m reading Shoe Dog - I’d like Phil Knight to buy us - we’d have a new Nike jersey every week.

If they’re expecting this then theres already been talks.
If you’re talking about oil money and sport washing a club the size of United is worth all that and even more. Forget about investments and all that, it’s the biggest club that will ever come on the market with the largest fanbase that will ever be available

I was going for supremely rich and evil, that guy never had the coin to buy United.
Have you seen how much all his crap has sold for in recent years? Tea cups, door knobs, hair comb, etc.

He’s sitting on a beach somewhere with Tupac and MJ laughing his nuts off.

Twitter will be fine. Its like the time Neil Young left spotify and it was going to go under.

Twitter is a brilliant social media platform and its going to go from strength to strength.

I want to get excited over this but I am somewhat nervous about who will take over. The Glazers are terrible owners but there are plenty of even worse owners out there. I do fear it might be more American owners coming in which may or may not be an improvement. Hopefully we get an idea of who the likely frontrunners are soon.

Could this be a sick plan by glazers to get the share price to pump? :houllier:

A 20% move in a day is huge.

Surely any potential new owners will be aware of the protests directed at the current ownership. The Liverpool game getting postponed made headlines around the world. For anyone worried about new owners, they will know what is expected of them to avoid further bad publicity. Assuming they care I suppose, the Glazers certainly didn't.

If it's a petro-state sovereign fund or similar buying, then I'm done with the club, and I fear that it will be the case.

The valuation of the club doesn't justify itself from a pure financial perspective, so no organization that is in the business of making conventionally justifiable investments will buy it. Throw out any notion of a big business (someone suggested Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) buying it, they would never be able to justify it to their own shareholders.

It's a prestige asset, so only people who care about that prestige are likely to want to buy it. That leaves billionaires that feel personally attached to the club (such as Jim Ratcliffe) and the petro-state entities. If someone/group that is already in the sports business for profit reasons were to buy it, it would be ran pretty much similar to how the Glazers have done. All we could hope for would be for them to be more competent as business managers.

From the Glazers' point of view, shitty timing to want to sell. I think overall they've done well in this investment from being early to recognize that big sports teams outside the US were both under-earning and under-valued. But beyond that initial insight that led them to purchase the club, haven't felt that they've show any proficiency as business managers or investors in the past 10 years. They should have sold when the economic environment was better, such as last year.

Given the outrage over the Newcastle deal and all the PSG and City fall out, I just don't see us being purchased by one of the middle East countries. Whoever it is, hopefully they prioritize the club, and improving the club properly. There's no way to compete with the oil money indefinitely, they can spend their way through transition periods while all normal clubs have to live with transition periods, so that's fine. But focus on the infrastructure, get the club back to innovating and not following.

Suddenly though, when before I didn't think we'd replace Ronaldo, I'd bet any new owner will come in and see that as a clear chance to start strongly. Just hopefully not in a dumb way like Boehly.

Ronaldo leaving will have a hit on the shirt sales, TeamViewer looking to pull the plug on the sponsorship deal with us. Basically the money not rolling in as much as they anticipated heading into the new year.
We have already been paid for shirt sales, we take our fee and the manufactures get the actual shirt sales.

I wonder if Liverpool forced their hand by going up for sale also?
I think they may feel the highest bidder might go for LFC. Makes more economical sense to buy them.

But as a brand, we're more lucrative. Literally a once in a lifetime opportunity.

It also leaves very rich people who know the Man Utd brand name and are willing to pay a significant premium to be an owner of one of the most historic clubs in the world. You don't even need personal attatchement.

Agreed, It will most likely be a petro-state, especially at the price the Glazers are asking....

Be careful what you wish for and all that but the next owner will need to be a seriously awful owner to Trump the Glazers. Oil money has officially ruined football, Liverpool and United owners have finally thrown the towel.
