Joke that Maddison didn't get more minutes. Should have been on that pitch before Mount and Sterling.

Unlucky I thought for England, they were the better team. Had the momentum in their side and created some chances, no clear but ones though.

Surely favorites to defend their title.

Wouldn't say unlucky. Played well but didn't create enough.

France probably had more chances from open play despite being worse
Nah, England had the Kane one on one, the Maguire header, the Saka chance and two penalties. France had the two Giroud chances and one half chance for Mbappe and smacked in a worldie (which shouldn’t have stood).

Hernandez's brainfart could have killed the game. Would have been all England's momentum. Thank God Harry Kane has never won anything in his life.

Well played England, France were just clinical. You have to wonder what could've been if Rashford was on at 60 mins when the game was stretched.

The better team without a doubt.

Kane has too much Tottenham in his veins, big game players play for big game clubs.

Watch Rashford be crucified in the media for missing the freekick at the end, while Kane walks away with no criticism for missing the pen.

Shit ref. An opening goal that should’ve been chalked off. A penalty we should’ve had. England the slightly better team. Lucky winner off Maguire’s shoulder. Kane bottling it. Spirit of Chris Waddle. Time for Southgate to give someone else a bash at it.

Despite the loss I truly believe that’s the best account England have given of themselves against a big side in a knock out game for a long long time. Same outcome though sadly. A real shame. We really should have won this game.
Agree with you that it was a good performance from England, but wouldn’t say we deserved to win it. Other than the first penalty, Kane wasn’t really at his best and we had very little luck with the ref tonight. Every time the French moved up the pitch you just sensed a real threat.

England played well but didn't actually look dangerous from open play at all. Created nothing in that regards.

And at the end of the day if you get two penalties but can't do anything from open play then you can have no complaints.
Fecking England never seem to get an upset against a better side, always have to predictably lose and put in a "cute" performance after which everyone predictably says it's "promising" for the next tournament.

Pathetic NT.
Hear hear. Did Southgate ever win against a strong side in KO?

England played well, but i don't think they were better though

They were about to score the equalizer from a gifted penalty from Theo Hernandez.
