As he should one player is 25 the other one 20 so let's see he has been a bit of mixed bags but let's give the guy a break.

You were the one making the silly comparison though.

He is fast and he works hard but there's just nowhere near enough quality to his game. He's had enough minutes in his Utd career to have shown something and he just hasn't. This season especially he's provided absolutely nothing.

I have nothing against him, I just don't think he's going to make it here.

Pace - the main Ralf tactic was runs in behind/a quick forward ball.

Can't be anything else.

Reminds me of Mctominay... Plucked out of nowhere and then ended up staying in the first team.
Obviously, he's worse than McTominay, but I thought the same. Two players who shouldn't even be fringe squad players at a top club. Hopefully those days are finally numbered very soon.

Hes got tons more talent than McTominay but probably as lucky to get games because of lack of options however McTominay seems to take that step up needed (helped massivelly by physicality and no need for expansive progressive football at the time) to at least be in contention for some time. Elanga with the ever growing options of palyers who can perform from young age around taking their chance I think will leave soon.

Pelestri looked much better in his limited time on the pitch. Ran with the ball, took people on, ran into the box, passed it well. Elanga looks lost out there, unfortunately.

To be fair he was playing out of position, and Pellestri came on with Rashy.

He reminds me a bit of Walcott

I understand he was one of our best reserve team players so he has some talent. He also has shown to have some attributes suited for the Premier League. His issue now is that he looks completely devoid of any confidence which in turn causes him to struggle to do anything while in possession. You could hear the crowd turning on him a bit when he lost the ball in a good position right before he was substituted. Looks like he badly needs to go down a level to kickstart his career.

Exactly, pointing out what done confidence and guidance can do for a player. Elanga needs minutes and steady football, won't get it here.

There's really no point on sticking with this lad. I'm sure he's a good pro and has a good attitude but he's never going to make it here. Sell him.

He did a really good job showcasing why we're so desperate for a striker who got relegated with Burnley. It all makes sense now.

Give him a loan first and see how he does.

He is a bit of a nothing player at the minute but people forget that he did really well when he first came into the team, so hopefully he can at some point provide that again.

A good player but he hasn’t progressed much lately. We have a fairly small squad so we need to keep him at the moment. Sell him in the summer. We can surely get 20-30 mil for him. Fulham/West Ham?

As I said aside from doing a synchronized siu with Ronaldo he hasnt done anything special

When I used to watch Elanga with the U21's, he often had a good amount of space to drive into with his pace and so often looked a lively threat from the left. The same as Garnacho was doing with the U18's.

But Garnacho always looked like he had a good touch and much more to his game, so would be able to beat a man with trickery as well as pace and would be able to link up in attacks with his touch - which is needed in the first team when coming up against teams defending deep, packing the box, etc.

Whereas Elanga's touch, dribbling ability and link up play looked more limited - and was very much reliant on having space to drive into with his pace. So more reminiscent of Dan James.

So I'm not surprised how much more threatening Garnacho has looked at first team level. Elanga should be loaned out next season. And he may do reasonably well if the right club / tactics are chosen to utilise his attributes. Whether he'll ever have enough quality on the ball to improve his end product and make it with us I'm not sure. But there's some decent potential there to work with.

Change the record about that relegated with Burnley thing about Weghorst, will hear it more than enough from UK media

Exactly surely Erik has seen that now, just give him a shot in that squad against City with first XI

No one is saying Elanga is a terrible human being, he's just not a good enough footballer. This isn't Amad, or Hannibal, or Rashford as teenagers where you can see serious potential that's just inconsistent. Elanga geniunely doesn't have enough in his locker to ever make it here. He's the academy version of Dan James.

He needs a loan as I think he’s going to need minutes to get his confidence back and we can’t afford to give him many currently.

Somewhere like Middlesbrough.

We need to stop this thing when we try too hard with an academy player. I've always maintained there need to be standards. Rashford, Januzaj, Greenwood, Garnacho post SAF showed a decent level in first team games. The rest (Mctominay, Elanga, Brandon Williams, Perriera, Lingard) never truly looked it. We need to stop this well he could be a decent squad player for us mindset. That's how we promote mediocrity.

It’s just so painfully obvious that he’s not good enough & never will be. His technical level is just so far off where it needs to be. He doesn’t need a loan, he needs to be sold. For his own sake as much as the clubs.

Nice kid, works hard, gives his all. I wish him all the best for his career, but he’s never a Manchester United level player in a million years. We need to start getting ruthless if we want to get back to the top. And this level of player won’t cut it.

I think he is a meh to okay~ish LW, being played out of position as ST & RW, when I see him play in those position, I expect nothing, and even when is played in his fav LW, he is below Rashford & Garnacho. He is here for the numbers only.

Abhorrent performance by a Championship level player. There’s just nothing he is good at, except pace. A dime a dozen those. I'd loan him now and sell him in the summer.

He needs to be sold with a buy back clause. This whole ‘loan out every kid’ approach is why we never make any money on any youngster. It’s the reason dross like Tuanzebe and Williams are still here because we were too worried about their potential.

If this was Liverpool they would’ve flogged him for 30m to some lower table suckers in the previous summer. We need to start doing the same. Most of the academy kids at clubs like United will never be good enough. In the off chance they do come good we buy them back for 5-10m extra.

We need to come to terms with reality and stop romanticizing every academy kid to exist. Majority of them will have done well with their careers if they have clubs like Burnley and Bournemouth on their CVs by the time they’re done.

By 21-22 you know more or less the quality and potential of players. Recently, players like Garnacho, Greenwood, even Mainoo, you could see there's more to their game by that age. And indeed, good is not good enough for Manchester United. Way too many people expect every academy player who is not doing well by that age to be a late bloomer. Late bloomers are rare, not common. Tuanzebe and Williams are not going to suddenly turn into Premier League title contenders. And neither is Elanga. But by the time the club comes to this conclusion, so has everyone else. And selling them for a decent sum becomes nigh impossible. Sure, maybe someone at some point is going to turn out great later in their career, but how many are going to be duds before that?

Please sell him or at very least give him a loan this window.

Easier to find a buyer in the summer if we’re looking to sell. Why rush?

Would loan him until the end of the season

Sadly, the best thing about Elanga at the moment is how valuable he makes Martial’s contribution to the team look.

Since being interested in him I'd be incredibly disappointed if he was our signing to save us from relegation.

Doesn't look like he will turn into a useful player for us, to be honest. He is already miles behind Garnacho, Pellistri also looked a lot better, and when we get Amad back, I'm sure he will also be a better option.

I always know he's going to be rubbish when he comes on or starts and he always is.

I don't understand why he continually gets chances, is it to save the legs of others only?

Not to mention Sancho once he's back (hopefully in the shape of his life with a point to prove)

I suspect it may be because he is quite 'mature' physically. He quick and has some physicality to him as well, which is maybe where Garnacho and Pellistri are lacking a bit.

Are you trying to be inducted into the 'posts that sound sexual' thread?
