As anonymous a display as you’re ever likely to see, a absolute embarrassment that this guy is starting games for us

I’ll be delighted to see the back of him, when he inevitably goes to West Ham or Everton he’ll quickly find himself on the bench there. It’s incredible how many games he has played for us given huge level of his performances and his ability. Was pointless playing him today.

Third goal sums him up;
We have counter attack, he needs to pass the ball to player who is literally 2m away and he fecks it up. Then 30 seconds later he goes in diving tackle, misses the ball and joggs back. If he didn't jog back he could have blocked a cross.

feck it. I give up. If ETH refuses to sell him just "because he needs depth" then don't cry for money for new players.
He actually had two or three options, which any decent player should manage to exploit well. Had he done his job, we should be have been on the attack instead of conceding a late goal

I really don’t like players that are cowardly in games. He plays with no authority for a midfielder, even whiny Fernandes carries more aggression.

Mctominay was shite. What a surprise. Cannot have such an average player in the middle of the park, huge liability.

I’ve said it plenty of times but he’s crap. He was crap in the u18, he was crap in the u23s, he was crap when he first joined the first team, he still is crap, and he always will be crap.

Been hoping to see the back of him for years but we haven’t. No surprise we’ve been crap that entire time. We will never do anything with him in the side.

He’s pointless, one of the worst midfielders I’ve ever seen and will be lucky to still be in the premier league a couple years after hes finally booted out as no other club will actually put up with his terrible play under the guise of ‘loves the club.’

He’s shit and should be sold to Newcastle as soon as possible. Get any midfielder in on loan and they’d be better.

It’s never a surprise when he doesn’t play well but it is kind of surprising he can’t produce his best game more often. There have been times when he has looked more than decent but it is rare, so rare.

We can’t give him instructions and have any expectation that he will carry them out. His awareness is poor, his execution is poor. He has a big heart but he can’t use it to his advantage. I hate to kick a man when he’s down but I don’t see that he solved any problems and he caused loads.

The days of him starting games is over and done with, as far as I'm concerned. Wouldn't even consider him a backup, anymore. The downgrade from Casemiro to this is a chasm.

Find it hard to believe we don't have a youngster who couldn't provide the minimum of what this guy does, he barely resembles a footballer in any game with high pressure.

Try and turn him into a CB or shift him out in the summer.

Get rid of him if Newcastle give us a suitable offer. Contributes absolutely nothing to our game. Mainoo can do the same job he does.

Good squad option. When we’re playing conference teams in the early rounds of the FA cup at least. Just needs to be average at worst but rarely manages that.

Yeah mate such an agenda to want that load of garbage out of my club. Another brilliant performance by him today, he brings so much to the side
Hilarious how you waited until the game finished to quote me.

Not sure what you're trying to prove but it doesn't take away my point. He was good at Old Trafford - love it or hate it.

We have. Iqbal or Mainoo. But somehow all our managers play McT. Proves that we fans onow shit about football.
Because we see in McT championship player at best. Our last 3 managers see regular starter in him.

He wasn't, we got overrun in the midfield similar to today but Arsenal couldn't capitalize.

Just let Newcastle have him in January, cash in while we have the chance. I don't think it would make big difference anyway.

Not surprised by that. He somehow manages to find a hiding place on the pitch, it's art.

I know we don't have a back to Cas, but I would sell him and rely on the young players along with Fred to get through this season and secure top 4. If Newcastle want to bid £30m for him then take it and run.

I reckon McT probably trains well, he's built like a player that should be really good and he's capable of spells but ETH is no mug, he's not going to be getting games here once he gets his targets.

Has to be the biggest fraud at the club. There have been other bad players in the past, but none of them have lasted this long or played this much. I have no idea what he offers.

If we can con some PL club to overpay for him either now or in summer, we'd be robbing someone.

There was a play roughly around the 70 minute mark where he fecked up an easy pass, Arsenal launched a counter attack, and he flew into a strong slide tackle to stop it. "Great reading of the game and tackling there" from the idiot commentator.

Did what I expected him to. Having him as backup to Casemiro is insulting to Casemiro.

Being ovverun in midfield is not a McTominay issue, its a team one.

ten Hag identified that we were overrun against City at the Etihad and decided to put Fred in for the reverse fixture. I believe he should have done the same today.

He is a counter attacking player. Conte would love him id say. Doesnt have a shred of technical ability about him. Mourinho giving him his chance says it all.
