Don’t think it was one of his best nights. Made plenty of errors and silly choices but still showed enough that the talent is undeniable. Needs more experience and to start adding more end product. Just made too many poor choices tonight.

Gaz. Is a Mewling Quim.
He will learn that thru experience, this is why he shouldn't really be a starter too often, he was getting frustrated late on and was liable to do something stupid
He was taking an absolute battering, that’s why he was getting frustrated. He absolutely shouldn’t be a starter at this point of course, you’re right there. He probably learned as much tonight as he has in a while which will do us and him good in the future

I hope he did learn, the battering is something he has to get used to though, he's gonna get that his whole career

Worst game in a United shirt. He’s a puppy in football terms, games like this are to be expected.

Touch and close control deserted him today. Had some joy running on the outside, all runs inside were dealt with easily.

On to the next one, with the hectic schedule we have coming up he’ll get enough minutes in the XI.

Interesting to see how Sancho’s reintroduction impacts his game time over the remainder of the season

Whilst not his best night he is still a massive threat and exciting to watch. It just didnt quite come off tonight, Forrest defence handled him quite well.
Amazing prospect though.

Seemed a bit over excited starting, trying hard to make an impression he over ran the ball ona few ocasions on very promising runs. Learing experience for him and the right game to start, think he is being managed well so far and love how direct he is, enteraining to watch

Think the Manager is doing the right thing with him, sub more than he starts. Think people have to remember and accept players develop in different ways. Might ruin his career playing too much. The Online ie Twitter Experts and the like need to accept that the Coaching Staff are better placed to make these decisions

There is a lot more to come from him, especially as he grows a bit stronger. The game against Forest, could see that we tried to go with Antony / AWB and give them the support that ETH had said they needed but, with both of them coming way inside, it wasn't working to stretch them out. Once we then went down the left, Garnacho's ability to go on the outside created a lot more dangerous moments.

I know he gets quite eager once he receives the ball which leads him to lose the ball but, hope he keeps that directness, defenders are instantly scared once he receives the ball with a little bit of space.

Supposedly reached an agreement to extend until 2028.

The lad will be gutted but I’m sure ETH would’ve explained to him the reasons for subbing him off. Hopefully the rumours about I’m having agreed a new deal are true and this doesn’t give him cold feet. :nervous:

Rather than focusing on getting subbed he should look at it as his short impact helped us get the second goal which in the end earned us the win.

I'd have taken Rashy off rather than Garny to be honest. Garnacho was fresh and full of energy and we needed all hands to the pump for extra time. And subbing a sub is never a good look, even if there are legitimate reasons to do so.

Garnacho is just too weak on the ball, he would have given us no chance of ball retention

Always a difficult one bringing a sub on and then taking them off, he didn’t look annoyed and seemed to handle it well, was worried he’d spit his dummy out.

The thing about Rashford is he is the most lethal player in the league on the counter attack and we were bound to get at least one or two opportunities to get a third based on that, so even though he was not offering a whole lot in terms of pressing, the trade off was probably worth it. He likely would have gotten our third too if the ref didn't make up a phantom foul on Sabitzer.

Sorry for the kid, but he took it for the team and he should think about it like that. I'd like if he starts next game with Rashford at 9.

Tough luck but we needed experience. He did well enough but it was the right, yet difficult call

Taking him off was the right decision. Palace were pushing and brought on some giants. Just one of those things.

His reaction - he seemed to understand why it happened.

I really think we’d be better off starting Garnacho and pushing Rashford upfront than persisting with Weghorst.

I like Weghorst but Garnacho makes things happen. Reminds me a lot of Mane.

I agree.

And I think Ten Hag understands this as well. It’s just we are paper thin upfront right now due to Martial’s injury record.

I believe ETH uses Weghorst from the start cause he knows he can bring on Garnacho later if we need a goal and use his pace more effectively against tired legs. Also sheilds the kid from burnout

If we started Garnacho each game, then bringing Weghorst off the bench doesnt really have the same threat.

Garnacho is best coming off the bench when players start to fatigue b/c he clearly wants to just run at defenders even if at times it's a bit brainless.....super sub is a good role for him right now

Exactly, he still has a lot to learn, he made a brainless pass today, trying to find Rashford that was cut out and almost cost us, given the situation a more experienced player would have kept running with the ball to retain possession and get higher up the pitch

I could see him getting a start against Leeds in one of the games if Ten Hag thinks we need Rashford up top to have pace to hurt them in behind and in the channels. Probably depends on Martial's fitness.
