Wondering if the Glazers are holding on for a US consortium to buy a percentage of the club, the trouble is the share price has just dropped off a cliff as a result. The longer this drags on the more sceptical Ive become, but then don’t think the brothers can afford to turn down £4.5b as it stands.

The people who are terrified of a sale not happening should feel better now. Absolutely zero chance this gets to this stage just to have the Glazers say "nah, try again soon though". The amount of money wasted by doing that would be quite a bit I'd imagine

They're genuinely squeezing every penny out of the winning bidder. And I can't see it being anyone but the Qatari's because they absolutely will not be fleeced in the media for all to see. I know...about 200 posters are echoing these exact thoughts. Just need to be patient. If it gets to say... middle of May, and there hasn't been anything officially announced? Then I'll start to squirm a bit. It's all an annoying (for the fans) waiting game. It'll be worth it to see the Glazers backs.

Qatari on twitter doubling up on his end of March sale prediction.

He either knows something we don't and is really confident.......or will look very stupid in a few weeks.
Yeah could go either way, also Keegan has gone very quiet since breaking the Qatari interest (2023 version)

The horse has already bolted in that regard well over a decade ago. And those clubs and their fans are quite happy with how the sporting performance has developed at their clubs. Those fans don't mix politics with football.
Yeah it did in 2003 but then we are supposed to be seen as above accepting that kind of ownership

I am honestly tired of all these moral debates because it's people going round in circles.

But what I really find hilarious is Saint Gary Neville going on about what's the right ownership after going to Qatar to collect the bag at Christmas.

This is a nonsense argument though. Has he bought Nice to try and topple PSG? I don't think he has. He's clearly not thrown money at it so that's clearly not his main goal there. It's a totally different situation.
What’s nonsense is thinking you can’t judge a man who wants to buy a club based on how his done at the current club that he owns.

I won't believe it until I see it happen. I wouldn't be surprised if Glazers botch the takeover.

I can't believe that there are still people take SJR bid seriously. This is the same person that submitted Chelsea bid after the deadline day.

He had also made more promises on the Chelsea bid than Man Utd bid.

As of now, the Qatari one looks properly planned with financial backing.

Until some new bidders come in with more attractive plans and commitments spell out, it's Qatari all the way.

We only want the best for the club.
he’s come far in the process now, launched an official bid, is about to meet the Glazers to discuss it further, and hired investment bankers to help him finance it

im not sure what you’re seeing that I’m not

Not sure there would be a second stage if Glazers didn’t want to sell.
That’s good news at least
Im 100% convinced all those rumors about the Glazers "having a second thought about selling" are just negotiation tactics. It's obvious they want to sell at peak price it's just matter of time until Qatar find and agreement.

Qatari will remove all debts including the transfer debts as well renovate the stadium, training grounds, and other facilities. Once that is sorted Qatari won't need to pump money when the club makes the money itself.

This nonsense that it's not right is stupid when the premier league put the club in debts and in ruins by allowing the club to be bought in debt.

You need to understand that United are a business, whether we like it or not, and that is how businesses are bought and sold, the PL are not responsible for it happening

There are a lot of signallers here that's why. They can either cough up 6-8 billion; stop supporting United or start being pragmatic and think about what's best for the club from a footballing sense.

Manchester United isn't some institute that is supposed to uphold everything that is righteous or moral. Its a feckin football club. Stop being naive. The managers, players, owners; past and present arent suppose to live up to your sense of self righteousness.

And if you let something that you have ZERO control over affect you and how you see yourself as a United fan --- then you need to give your head a good wobble -- a few times, if needed.

There's no need to worry that the Glazera won't sell. They weren't even able to pay themselves dividends for the first time. The club has lost some 225m over the last 3 years, despite making the UCL the last 2 years (this season without the UCL isn't counted in the last year's books where the club lost 115m).

While I suppose minority investment would allow them to pocket some money for themselves, who would invest serious money with the Glazers? Where would they get a return?

Yes it's becoming a no-brainer they will sell. They can't afford another year without brutally oppressive refinance options and they know it. I just wonder why they let all those hundreds of millions continue to mismanage when the situation was already getting tight. Probably since they didn't buy it with their hard earned money it was no different to spending videogame money to them. Even now they've mismanaged and are still going to make a several billion profit.

That overlap episode was utter horse trash.
When it comes to United Apparantly we’re above wanting to be successful and getting back to the pinnacle of the game.

I can’t believe people are pulling the morality card after a World Cup in Qatar everyone gobbled up and City have been lauded for a decade.

Carl Anka specifically taking a moral crusade was quite amusing - I wouldn’t still go to games but I will because it’s my job…so money supersedes morals…

I just don’t know where they are going with all that.
The funny part is that the guy who owns a youtube channel and is part of another youtube channel would question the intelligence of fans on social media by reducing their argument to that of 'they just want Mbappe'. The top reds at Stretford Paddock are unbearable.

Interesting watch. Carl living in a dream land.
Football's version of Enjolras, whose not a Manchester United supporter btw, will not enjoy our success if Qatar takes over but would still go to OT and make money out of it

The Qataris own PSG, so going off both potential owners other clubs it's hardly an advert for expertise.

From the little I know about Ratcliffe, he quite regularly invests in infrastructure for him businesses so would it be any different with United?

On Nice, as I know little about them, I see that while possibly underachieving in terms of league position, they seem to be the form side in Ligue 1 as far as recent results go. Have they made a change of manager in the past month or so or just an uptick in performances?
Qatar entered football in 2011, INEOs in 2017. They both had a steep learning curve. Some of the mistakes both groups had done would even make the Glazers blush. Both have taken amends to sort those issues. Qatar had replaced the mercurial Leonardo with Campos while INEOS have hired experienced CEO Blanc on top of their football pyramid. The difference between the two is that Qatar had shown far more will and determination in investing money into the club to make it successful. That's quite significant. When the EPL was a two horse race ie between us and Arsenal, l I was never really worried whenever the latter got the upper hand. That's because I knew that we can easily blow them out of the water by throwing money at any weaknesses the team had. INEOS teams have more relegations under their name then trophies.

This will be my last post on this subject, like I mentioned in my previous post. I can take up any response via PM.

I'm not trying to equate anything, and I never said Jews, Christians or Muslims were against gays. But rather the teachings of all three faiths is what each individual from within those faith groups, follows.

And the person who is trying to buy United (Sheikh Jassim) has probably nothing to do with the laws in the country. There's a lot of things that are still very vague surrounding the person in question, which I'm sure we'll know more about in the coming weeks and months. But at this point, there's no evidence that Sheikh Jassim plays any role in how Qatar is governed.
The person is part of the ruling family, and the country is under Sheriah law.

For some of us supporting Manchester United is not above principles and morals.

And if you were someone close to me I'd tell you to give your head a hood wobble...
Selling out and ignoring the atrocities that the Qatari rulers are responsible and stand for in the name of trophies and transfers is pathetic.

I am old enough to remember the failed takeover by Sky. Back then all hell went loose (both by United and non United fans) because of Sky's owners and the advantage United would have over other clubs. Guess what? Worse owners bought rival clubs and the criticism was timid at best. Not only that but when these clubs became better then we are through unfair means they had the audacity to laugh at our misery. So unless there's a blanket ban on clubs being owned (not just bought) by oligarchs/state on a global scale then I don't give a feck about who owns us. I don't want my club to be running the race with one broken leg and I am certainly mature enough to make a clear distinction between the club and its owners.

Since you feel so strongly about it; I guess you have only one choice then without coming across as a 1st Class hypocrite -- stop supporting the club if the Qataris buy up United. You really dont have a choice do you? Unless you have some spare billions in your pocket?
Short of that, you are just virtue signalling.

Please inform us of these atrocities the Qatari rulers are responsible for
And then at the same time take a look at the atrocities that the UK is responsible for and still benefits from to this day
And then give your head a wobble, yourself

Excellent post! I remember the sky attempt and the whingeing and whining that other fans were guilty of. The same ones that welcomed Abramovitch, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia with open arms. Complete hypocrites. Now they are simply scared that we'll bury them!

With more money than the Glazers how has he run Nice?
In the last winter window he backed the club and Nice had the biggest overall spend in the league.
He has had Viera and Galtier as manager, somebody who was coveted on here when Ole left, and as pointed out it was never a pump in stupid money type of project.

If you notice none of these ABUs say that clubs owned by oligarchs/states should be sold off. All they say is that clubs should not be bought NOW (ie when qatar are interested in us). Then there are the likes of salford fc owner Gaz who wants a form of communism system in football. I wonder why

Ps these journalists/pundits refrained from saying if they will go to OT if qatar bought us. Not to forget the youtube celebrities who ironically mock united fans on social media. The hypocrisy around this issue is staggering

The below is pretty shocking and it's more than a few abhorrent messages. And I don't believe a Leopard changes it's spots, especially in Moody's case after getting caught.

Below via Matt Lawton.

'Fkn chinkys. Fk it. There's enough dogs in Cardiff for us all to go around.'

On the arrival of South Korean international Kim Bo-Kyung

'Go on, fat Phil. Nothing like a Jew that sees money slipping through his fingers'

On football agent Phil Smith

'He's a snake, a gay snake. Not to be trusted'

On an official of another club

'Not many white faces amongst that lot but worth considering.'

On a list of potential signings

'I hope she's looking after your needs. I bet you'd love a bounce on her falsies.'

On a player's female agent

A picture entitled Black Monopoly (where every square was a "Go to Jail" square)

Sent to members of Cardiff's staff

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...st-homophobic-text-messages-time-Cardiff.html

Also Malky Mackay doesn't have any relevance to the conversation in question. And he's also a piece of crap and I'd be just as scathing of Ratcliffe if he had hired Mackay.

I don't believe anyone taking a moral high ground would hire Iain Moody as a recruitment specialist. But I can see people who separate moral values from sporting performance, hiring a controversial figure like Moody. But the funny thing is, Moody isn't even known to excell on the Sporting side of a football club and it was no suprise that Ratcliffe bringing him in to oversee the summer transfer of 2022, caused more problems than he solved. Because he (Moody) was signing players that were at odds with the way Favre wanted to play, hence Favre was furious with how things were developing on the recruitment front.
Wow. These are the types that Ratcliffe is associated with? Say it ain’t so

Couldn't agree more, great post. I was 10 when the Sky thing was happening and didn't have a clue what was going on and wasn't very educated until a bit later on the topic. But you make great points.
