Struggling to see England winning in 90 minutes. Their tactics have just been completely awful all tournament. It doesn’t seem to matter who they play, they can’t exert themselves at the better side. (Barring China but totally different circumstances to any other game + a perfect match up) This is the first high level team they’ve played this comp. If the same happens, they’ll finally get punished by playing against high level attackers who won’t let them off. It’ll need a big improvement from England to get through without penalties.

What do you put that down to? I'll admit I wanted New Zealand to beat Australia in the Rugby League World Cup semi final last year due to that tournament badly needing somebody else winning it.
it’s a strange one, a mixture of us being co hosts and maybe the fact lots of our players have played in the Aussie women’s a league. There are a lot of expats here so there will be a big England contingent of fans here. Even more kiwis living in Aussie these days so maybe the rivalry has softened a bit when we aren’t playing each other. A fair few kiwi teams head across the Tasman for end of season tournaments so we end up being hosted by the Aussies there and they always look after us.

I know you want to promote women's football but the biggest event in Australian sporting history is the Olympics.

Apart from the China game, this is probably the best England have played in the tournament.

Want to see Toone getting further forward like she did just there, where she can link up with Russo. She’s really ineffective when she plays too deep.

England are quite comfortably the best coached team in the tournament, but the lack of cutting edge in tight games means they are still vulnerable.

If they can get one goal here, and put pressure on the aussies to push up, I think they will have a comfortable win.

Very little movement in midfield when we the ball at the back. When I watch Spain, it's one thing I was impressed with. Their players are always on the move creating passing angles all over the place. We seem a bit too static when Bright, Carter or Bronze have the ball.

Ref clearly with the home team. Longer this remains a stalemate the more confident Australia will become. Need to score soon as.

Really like Hemp. What a player to have on a team. Even though England are the better team so far, it is still level. Need a goal here.

Carter has consistently been the weak link in England’s defence. I don’t understand why she’s starting while Maya Le Tissier isn’t even in the squad.
