Injuries have taken their toll. Not like he was the hardest fighter before anyway.

He's done at this level of football. Time to move for a league with lower intensity. A Serie A should suit him more, that or the MLS.

Saudi won't care about him most probably as he's not marketable enough.

Either way, he's done at the Premier League. He's afraid of getting into any contact due to injuries history.

He is basically just walking around the pitch most of the time now. No bite what so ever.
Not sure he would be a starter for a MLS team in current form.

So lazy, the sooner he pisses off the better he's absolutely useless, give me Bebe or Obertan anyday of the week.

Dreadful footballer. Next time we find ourselves short up front we should consider fielding 10 players

Why do people assume the Saudis will have any interest in him?

All these Captain Hindsight people saying United should have sold him 6 years ago when he’s nothing of the same player he was 3 years ago. 3 years ago Martial was 100% worth keeping, the club couldn’t have known injuries would ruin him.

Such a waster of a player. Zero energy, bite or urgency. We should just stop playing him

It's clear he's out of shape and is scared to get into any physical challenges because of his injury record. He's out of contract next summer and it's clear we wont be looking to renew him. Sadly for both parts but it's been a long time since he was an important player for us.

He plays like the matches are part of his recovery program.

He was not worth keeping on 250k a week 3 years ago. He should have been sold and many fans said so at the time. Injuries aside he isn’t good enough. Playing 6/7 games well is not sustaining it for a season which has not done since his debut season

Many of us wanted him replaced and said he would never be as good as his fans thought several years ago.

Fans were more in love with his potential, perhaps, than his performances. He was 3rd choice striker 2 years ago and lent to Sevilla. Since then he has been injured + he has been our first choice striker. After Ronaldo decided we could do without a striker. Thanks for that Offsaldo.

I actually didn't realise he was on the pitch in the first half. Something like only 7 touches in the first 35 minutes.

He's done. There is no confidence, no desire, no heart, no care. He's just there, he isn't doing anything.

He’s doing everything in slow motion and without any effort. For that reason alone, he shouldn’t be playing games for us.

He's finished, just not up to it physically anymore.

I can't believe how poor he looks physically.

He moves like he's 35-40 and I don't even think I'm exaggerating.

I think he's done at the top level, he might be able to do something at MLS level, but I don't think he can play in Europe.

He is physically not fit enough or just mentally done at top level. He was scared to lift his leg to receive pass.

Not a footballer any more, unfortunately.

He should move out to the midwest of America and start his own ****. That's the thing he seems best at these days.

Why? He didnt even train in pre season
I'd accept that as a rebuttal for him being rusty, but I don't think he's rusty.

He looks physically shot. He can barely move out there even in just moments. Even during periods when he gets on the ball or on the run, he looks physically finished.

At this level you can look physically finished when you haven’t had enough training.

He can play in the Saudi league and earn us some cash as well.

I agree, but he's been declining physically season after season.

I think he's just hit the wall now and can't handle top level football anymore.

I doubt lack of training is the issue, he's been moving like a barge since 2021.
Yes just like the start of least season after a full pre season. As for 2021 he was playing with an injury as he said.

Look he should have brought in 2 CFs this summer that is clear. Martial should not be relied upon.

However if a player hasn’t even had a pre season and its their second appearance we can’t expect them to be in the best physical shape.

We should have, shocked (but also not shocked at all) that we didn't.

Getting "enough training" requires him to be free from injury.

But we've all seen that he's too injury prone for that to happen.

So he'll never be fit enough for long enough to show he's good enough.

Functionally, that means he's not good enough.

That he's good enough in an imaginary world, just not the real world. Got it.
Never said he was good enough. So again does not change the point. You must still be angry about the game and looking for a fight. I’ll save you the trouble. Martial should have been sold back in 2021

What's your point then?

You've opposed the idea that he was finished physically.
At this level you can look physically finished when you haven’t had enough training.
Then you've said it was obvious he was finished physically because of his injury proneness.

Actually the OP said they could not believe he looked shot physically. To which I asked why? Since he did not have a preseason.

Yes him looking bad physically today could be down to his lack of conditioning from missing pre season or it could be that heis finished.

The point was its not a surprise for someone who missed the whole of preseason to look not ready physically at this level in their second game.

Maybe follow the conversation instead of making shit up
