The issue with the ownership is that the expenditure on players is only heading in one direction.

The era of £100m players is here and will soon become commonplace, which we just won’t be even close to competing with. This means the value of the clubs would, likewise, only head in one direction.

I think that this is the prime opportunity for them to sell at a maximum profit level.

Not only does it feel like this guy is reliable, but the fact he knew nothing was likely to happen between August-September and didn't feel the need to tweet 'nothing happening' every cvouple of days like every cnut journalist in this country makes in top tier in my book.

If its October are we elevating Custis to sainthood.
I’ve said it for weeks - Custis is a cnut but he called the Lukaku transfer days before anyone else, when the rest of the media were saying Morata.

He’s got very good sources close to the club.

Its at the point how were they simply have to sell it. No champions league money next year for them the way the season has started. The stadium needs sorting. Greenwood, Antony, Sancho will need working out in some way. Its amazing just how much of a mess they've put us in. This is one of the biggest sports franchises on earth. And was the undisputed top sports franchise when they took over. And in 2023, we have a knackered stadium, an out of date training facility, a billion pound of debt and another manager with the world on his shoulders. If this doesnt get sold in the next few months, its a massive worry. Its the only shining light we have.

This alone should put him in tier 1.

Sources in the club that know about transfer dealings is wholly different to sources in the club that know intimate details of the sale process. I very much doubt that there are any outside of the Glazer clan and Woodward that know any details. I doubt Arnold is even kept in the loop.

This has been the update to wait for. A business journalist is far more likely to know what’s what since this is a major M&A story. Your regular sports journalist isn’t going to know, not even Ornstein. Their contacts at the club focus on the football and the majority of the time the people at ground level at any company subject to a takeover won’t know anything, other than rumours. Business journalists will potentially have connections to information since United is a NYSE listing.

This takeover either comes out of the blue through the official channels or some business journalist gets one of the scoops of the decade. It won’t be Luckhurst, Ducker, Ogden etc.

Very true. I just think there’s something to this, I’ve got a feeling that we will find out that the sale is happening in October.

Qatar won’t give up on this - like someone said on a podcast a few months ago; Manchester United is the unicorn. You only get one chance to acquire it and Qatar won’t let it slip through the net.

It’s got to the stage now where I don’t even really care whether club gets sold to Qatar or INEOS. The club is suffering a slow, painful death and the thought of this not being our last season under control of the Glazers is unbearable.

Bloomberg seem confident about Qatar but they were very confident about the exclusivity and that was wrong. The additional flexibility INEOS appear to be offering still seems like something I can see the Glazers going for though.

In fairness, a Qatari state bid will be like this:

1) Qatari state approved sponsorship on everything, from the jerseys to the stadium's name after they rebuild it.

2) Marquee signings of famous names, even if the manager does not want them. This will have more to do with Point 1 than anything else.

3) Ex-players given executive roles with which they have little real authority past telling the MEN how great Jassim and Qatar is. The real executive decisions will be taken by Qatar's approved circle.

4) United to make greater signals towards LGBTQ/ending violence against women/social causes. This is not for any benevolent reason. It is to disingenuously claim Qatar is somehow 'tolerant' of other beliefs, when the reality is, of course, completely different. Ex-players will be crucial in promoting this 'message'.

5) A world-class training facility and improved academy. Of course, 99 percent of graduates will play once or twice for United, but be sold for top dollar, just like at city to balance out FFP.

6) The gentrification of working areas in the city, with the implementation of unaffordable high-rise buildings. The UAE may kick off about this, mind.

7) Pro-Qatar commentators becoming aggressive about anyone pointing out the various human rights abuses of Qatar's dictatorship. Expect the like of Gary Neville to field these.

That's it really. The club can't really dominate like it used to die to the intense funding of other clubs, so we'll win slightly more trophies to hoist in the BeIn Sports Bowl.

Meanwhile, the Glazers will pocket billions for sweet FA. Woodward 14 million.

As depressing as our current league form.
Oh please do give up. You know jacksh*t about any of this. Only ‘marquee’ signing we could probably have done with was Kane, but FFP wouldn’t allow, even under ‘Qatar’ ownership. As for ‘gentrification of working areas in the city’ - what the feck is that all about, and what’s it got to do with United? Take a bit more water with whatever you are drinking and don’t forget to keep taking the tablets!

Just need to be patient, things are going to start moving once the team gets back from the preseason tour I've heard.

Interesting that Bloomberg recon Sheikh Jassim will win, he is the best option from the ones we know and would provide the funds needed to do everything that needs to be done.

If the Glazers were to go with the offer from Sir Jim and INEOS it may get blocked by the Premier League as INEOS alledgedly have $1.9bn of Investment agreements with the Saudi Royal Commission.

Here we go again, I did say to people and on here that it would kick off after the Transfer window closed. Seems like it is. Let’s hope and pray that this is for real this time round.

If the club hierarchy are already going into self-preservation mode and briefing against ETH then that would suggest that a sale is far from imminent.

I know it’s already been posted but I like the look of this tweet more. The lovely colours and bullet points give us hope. At this point I couldn’t give a shit if it’s fake news or not. This is the only positivity I have. This is all I have to work with. I’m on my knees.

Almost wankable bullet points.

Good lord this fanbase is so useless. World's biggest club and millions of fans and we've just let the Glazers leech off the Club and bring it to footballing and financial ruin while we instead piss on each other's cereal for taking too well to trash players and ignoring the canary after canary in the coal mine managers.

Jim will just be Glazers#2 and rival fans are praying he gets the club

I understand 100% why some fans are against Qatar and that’s their right but with only 2 bidders in for the club theirs is the only one that will take the club forward.

Qatar will find a way, chief. Cheeky sponsorship here and there. Build an 'entertainment complex' near OT to offset FFP (as city are looking into around emptyhad). Move assets about franchises. Job done.

'United Tax' as it is known will absolutely increase, and wage demands, too, so Qatar will have to throw billions into their toy. And they will. They need to be successful in order to gain your consent.

It's the whole point of sportswashing.

As for ‘gentrification of working areas in the city’ - what the feck is that all about, and what’s it got to do with United?
See the UAE's various projects with Manchester City Council. Saudi Arabia do similar up in Newcastle. Not just property investments to influence (effectively silence) the council, either, but even (menial) donations to food-banks.

Whatever it takes for you to endorse them.

It's better to just block him mate he's obviously a wum.
Facts wind you up?

Nothing quite hurts like the truth.

Press have gotten a hold of a story that the club dont like Ten Hag's agent sticking his nose in. Sounds like the typical pre-sacking shit the Glazers always do.
Yeah will be such a body blow if these leeches manage to outlast yet another manager. By my calculations that is 9 (including Giggs & Carrick as temp caretakers)
