We created enough chances to be two or three goals out of sight, Bruno and Rashford missing some big chances.

I agree on our defending needing improvement though. For me ten hag needs to go back to basics and make us more solid at the back. I'd also want him to drop Bruno and Rashford like a sack of potatoes.

He signed a goal keeper that is an absolute clown. No wonder the back line is all over the place.

His man from his former club.

Onana cant even do the basics. Doesn't know when to come or go, does nothing for the Icardi goal, made a mess of the ball the went across him. He is meant to be great with his feet and cant even get a simple pass right.

Cost us in 2 CL games now.

I don’t think Cas is our problem. We should bench Rashford and Bruno absolutely.
Agree, but, ultimately, they are still 2 players who can create a special moment, which is still what we rely on unfortunately.

Him only bringing in his former fecking players 'he knows' pisses me off too. Too risk avoidant, zero balls.
Yeah although it shows the madness of the club that we are basically putting him in charge of identifying players when he doesn't seem to know the market across Europe, and didn't even do that job af ajax

Surely the Antony signing should bave been a red flag in terms of his judgement
The likes of @Fortitude told us it was important for him to have his own players in. Something about people he can trust and all that jazz, and they'd be a year ahead of the training schedule.

literally no idea what you are talking about.

look at the facts and he’s not lasting much longer in the job and doesnt look like he is turning it around. Just matter of fact, week to week premier league stuff. The likes of heckinbottom and Dyche are going soon and they are at relegation fodder.
Bloody hell, have some common sense, we don't have money, we don't have FFP conditions to spend even so there is no money for another rebuild, also there is no good enough manager out there available to bring in. That is why he will not be sacked.

Forget his signings, forget the injuries.

How are we so bad at managing a game of football that every time we do eventually score a goal we almost always look like we're immediately going to concede!? We have no match craft, its actually stunning how bad we are at managing games.

He has got to make some big decisions soon and drop some of the stars, they simply can’t be trusted anymore.

The club has to make a big decision. The season is pretty much disappearing fast

I can't blame it all on him. No manager can account for what Onana did tonight. Not to mention the utter shitshow that is our defensive options. He has made some bad decisions but some of our defeats have been insanely unlucky. It is, at the end of the day, a results business, and if he can't turn it around he'll be gone eventually. But I really thought EtH was the one.

There is zero chance the board will act with any urgency. He has until Christmas at the very least. We have a few months of a lot of pain to come. Might as well develop a drinking game revolving around Onana mistakes.

People that want him out who replaces him that makes any sort of difference in this absolute mess of a club?

When the referee closed the game it looked like ETH was in shock and wanted to sink into the ground. Suddenly everything turned around. He looked ready for action and a bit mad, like he planned to kill someone. Like he understood this is his last chance to turn the ship around and it’s no reason to hold anything back.

Luck for ETH we play Brentford and Sheffield U next. Golden opportunity to turn things around.

It's like the players bought into his schtick at the start of last season, and we started to improve. After the league cup the heads dropped again, complacency rose, and we started fecking up. And now we're at that point where these same players, who have done it about two or three times before, have completely given up.

I don't know how you solve that short term let alone long term, but I'm really struggling to see how Ten Hag can change things at this point unless he starts knocking some idle heads together. How the players respond is up to them.

We are a broken club. It doesn't matter anymore who we sign as players/managers. Nothing seems to fix us.
We still haven't signed press resistant players, though.

If we eventually stack our team with them and still look horrendous, fair enough.

Have some faith you inbreeds.

He doesn't look besides himself, he looks genuinely angry.

The Dalot brain fart.
The Onana brain fart.

No manager in the world stops that from happening.

Onana is a self conscious cock-a-doodle.
It's what overconfidence gets you.

But we are on the right track.
He's promoting youth.
Hojlund looks a good one.
Mount looked really good today.

Give him time you fecks. Ease off.
But good managers stop playing players that are useless week in week out no? Give him time to do what? I’ve always been on the managers side but when I look at other teams like spurs and see how there manager as implemented a style straight away and he’s had what 7 games? ETH has had over a year. No excuses to not get a team playing a good brand of football and if they don’t accept it or can’t play that way then bin them off. This is a joke and we’re getting embarrassed every week.

wrong. There are plenty of coaches out there who could get these players to give Palace or Galatasary a game at Old Trafford

What are you on about. He is definitely going to be sacked if(and when) we keep losing.
What do you actually expect to happen? We’ll be sitting 15th in a December, out the CL and ten Hag will still be in the job?
Wake up man..

And honestly this forum needs to seriously stop pretending as if Erik ten Hag is the only decent coach out there. The jury is well and truly out with that opinion anyway:
A lot of you now claiming “there’s nobody else” are the same who were categorically stating this was the guy to turn it around. You don’t get to now start making out as if it’s an impossible job.
There’s plenty of good and better coaches out there then Ten Hag who aren’t Pep and klopp.

We'll be alright once a few more players return. We're really missing Antony's goals and assists

Weird that because there's plenty of managers getting a tune out of worse players in many leagues, I don't understand why we're different

Well keeping him will only make things worse so if sacking him stops that then it's a good thing
I don't think keeping him makes things worse than sacking him. You've started a project and it's 10 games in. As bad as it is (and it is bad), there's no value in rage quitting. History has shown us this.

I just don't know what can be done to stop this erratic pinball approach.

Every week we see the players doing rondo's in training...yet the whistle goes on matchday and it's a miracle if they can find a red shirt more than 3 times.

You can blame the manager, but at the end of the day, he can't control their every move! The players have to used their intelligence in-game and adapt/respond to adversity.

I’m finding this hard to take as I was so sure that ETH really was the first correct choice of manager since SAF. Everything pointed towards that (in my mind anyway). Yet it has unravelled into an absolute shut show which is due to the players he’s recruited. Not one has been any good. Casemiro perhaps a decent few months but like every one, he’s gone to shit after the cup win.

I don’t see how he turns this around because we are deep in the shit and not one player looks like they can do anything of any note.

He shouldn't be bringing in any players though. If we were run properly, the club would have a proper sporting director that understands the style of play and direction the club is going in, and they should work with the scouting department to sort transfers out.

We dont know that for sure, but whatever he is telling them to do, it is not working.

They look the worst drilled United side i have ever seen.
A team when is changing 2-3 players in the summer cant go from 3rd to 14th without players giving up. It happened with Jose and Ole too. This is our culture now, and without changing it, we won't be successful. The first and most important thing that ETH should have asked this summer, should have been to sell Martial, Shaw, Rashford, McT, Sancho, Maguire*. He didn't. So this problem will persist.

*I m not blaming them for today. It's just that these players have embraced this "I give up" culture.

ETH please play your own game. Drop the square pegs in Bruno and Rashford and actually play your own football. This pragmatism to fit those 2 in the team is gonna get him fired.

He's brought in players that aren't good enough to play for the club and he's relying on them to get him out of the shit. It sucks but you live and die by your recruitment as a manager and he could not have got it more wrong
