This has nothing to do with the fit and proper person test. The Glazer’s can still do whatever Sir Jim wants, hence Arnold giving his marching orders. They still own the club and can make whatever decisions they want, even if Sir Jim is pulling the strings behind the scenes. The extended delay, if to be believed, is a worry though.

I can only think, so far, of two possible reasons:

a) The Glazer family, as a whole, are still undecided amongst themselves
b) Sir Jim has still not found a way to ‘resolve the issue with A class shareholders’

The second point is still relevant, imo. People say he’s a shrewd operator in business, but his offer to buy just the Glazer’s 69% was ridiculous and never likely to get approved.
There are limits to how much they can legally communicate about strategy and daily operations as long as it's an ongoing process. Arnold's removal in favour for an interim suggests that he made his position untenable, likely by voting or signaling that he would vote against the deal. It would be a legal minefield to have him sacked on the say so of Ratcliffe before the deal is finalised.

You don't want to mess up the summer transfer window so it makes sense to do it after the window shuts
Classic United to be fair.

Fair enough.

Is there a certain amount of A and B he has to buy?

I do think the mess is Joel Glazer wanting certain processes in place before committing to anything.
The decisions he will make will be brought to him via very different people than previously, and I suspect it may be the prime cause of the latest hold-up.

Shareholders not playing ball is unlikely as Qatar have pulled out.
Yes agreed. Thankfully qatar pulled out, else we'd still be going around in circles.

I think I asked this before but didn't really get an answer. Are we expecting the 25% announcement to also confirm that INEOS would look to acquire a majority of shares within some fixed timeframe?

I’m not necessarily expecting that to be the case but considering it’s a NYSE listed company, I am expecting whatever terms have been agreed to be clearly detailed.

No. That will never happen. Even if that is the plan, it is not something you can put in a formal announcement.

Yep , so I was told it would be done in November, I fully expected it to be this week but course anything Glazers they will drag it along forever.

Honestly I don't think it happens this year now, certainly not this week.

There will be any excuse they can muster up, they always do. Next week it will be something about waiting until December as there are a few more details to understand.

When Dec comes, they will say Christmas and New Year means there will be little movement as the Glazers etc are spending it with family and no business.

Then Jan will come and the excuse will be - oh its Jan window and the hierarchy would like a fresh break and to finalize outside of the Jan window. Then Feb will come and maybe only then we may get something but can imagine there will be some BS issue.

Sickening and this is how it will be with them over SJR, they will delay, pontificate, wait, delay and repeat on any approval.

But why wait? How do the Glazers benefit from that? I don't understand the logic from them. There's a bloke with a boat full of cash, waving it in their face. But do they want to wait until next year? Why?

Probably just want to annoy us fans after the two decades of grief they’ve been given.

I think they honestly work on a “just in case” method as in they enter into things almost with one foot out.

They start a process knowing it needs to happen but will allow it with as much time as possible so that there is every possibility of another deal happening.
But not only that I think they have absolutely no sense of urgency and are arrogant enough to not realise there’s millions of fans worldwide in the dark.

It’s the equivalent of having a catch up with someone at work, you plug it in teh diary but when the day comes neither of you can be bothered so you cancel for next week , then do the same again next week again.

It’s just not that urgent to them.

Or they were oversold by Raine -- and the past few months had to scramble & figure out the best case scenario ever since.
Thought Jassim was an endless pot of gold -- Raine probably told them that they are literally a front for the Qatar Govt. But instead have to settle for the best case of having enough to fight another day.

The whole saga sums up the Glazers ownership perfectly, never making any real decisions or showing any proactive involvement with the club.

The entire family is scum.

So that'll be 3 transfer windows and I wouldn't rule out a 4th and the only move forward we've had is Arnold leaving and the fact he wanted a full sale instead of this shite maybe isn't the move forward we think it is.

Glazers, utter utter cnuts. Not one thought for a single employee having this hanging over them!

This never ending BS has finally done me in. A year to the day when it looked like these scumbags were finally getting out of the club. For my own mental wellbeing I am out.

All they care about is $$$. Anything else doesn't seem to register. Worst owners in football, saved from their incompetence and unsuitability by the former success of the club. Any other club would have been run into the ground by them by now.

don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

no, seriously. years of glazer neglect mean it’s on its last hinges and could fall off and injure any one at a moment’s notice.

Genuine question but why is everyone losing their minds? Which credible source is stating that the Glazers won't budge?

Aint it a leap year next year? They probably think better to leave it to a 'normal' year. 2025 I reckon.
You know what, this is all moving too fast. In 2025 there will only be a couple of years until Joel celebrates his 60th, and then it's like two years until Avram is 70. Is it really the time to make such rash decisions? Better wait until 2032.

Why has the 25% investment not happened yet? What's the hold up?
Iron clad path to full ownership that minority stake holders won't vote against? Setting the board up for the vote to pass (removing Arnold)? Joel needing to buy a turkey for thanksgiving? Take your pick.

It will happen, and no one except the board of Man Utd knows when.

Who knows whether its the Glazers holding it up or they've run into issues with the listed shares. There's some big hitters holding shares and won't be walked all over, form memory I couldn't find an example of what the Glazers are trying to do with Radcliffe in terms of by-passing those who owned listed shares.

Think it was James Drucker who alluded that Radcliffe would be buying some of those listed shares but to what extent may not be all agreed yet. I highly doubt he's going to offer the same price for Class A & B shares.
