Bruno this season has been terrible apart from the last 6 weeks. You really can't be serious if you think he's been good this season. Even his most stalwart defenders wanted him benched for a period. That's how bad he was.
Whether or not he would've been an upgrade on McTominay yesterday is impossible to say for sure. Bruno is usually dogshit in big games. It is likely but that barometer isn't very high. But other factors come into play. We would've given away the ball more and given them more counter attacks and we would have less physicality.
Why would he make such a big difference against Liverpool when there plenty of games this season he has done nothing?
There is a huge middle ground between being great all season and one game against Bournemouth. Fans have had a bee in their bonnet with Bruno since the 7-0 last season, and some really can't let it go.
Go back and watch McTominay yesterday, particularly the first half. He was literally scared to have the ball, constantly just being half a yard away from a pass etc in order to mask the fact he didn't want it. For all of Bruno's faults, you'll never get that from him.
It's quite possible that had Bruno been playing, we lose as we go for it a bit more, but equally the chances of us nicking a win are also higher.
And for the millionth time, it's fine to not rate Bruno, I have my own frustrations with him, but you still seem to think that ditching him is the answer to our problems despite the other much poorer players/performers still in the team.
