Can't believe some people still bother defending Ten Hag. The whole allure and point of bringing him here was to see the team adapt to modern changes and play a modern brand of football with emphasis on controlling games and technicality yet we're playing some terrible football and getting outplayed by bottom tier teams. Basically what had been going on with his predecessors.
Hopefully when he's gone soon, we'll look to work on releasing a lot of these players who have been the common denominator between us playing terrible football and every manager who came here. As much as I blame Ten Hag for the horrid football and been disillusioned with him, he's the second manager in a row who has tried to implement a more modern style of football yet couldn't get it done and instead opted to revert to transition football. Ragnik and now Ten Hah have both failed to implement the brand of modern football that they and us wanted partly due to personnel.
The likes of Rashford, Bruno, etc aren't conducive to the type of football these managers wish to implement. Too careless with the ball which makes it extremely hard to control games, especially against decent teams. Part of the reason Ten Hag choose to become a transition team despite initially coming in with the idea of being a more controlling, processing team was due to the fact he'd realized he couldn't pull it off with the likes of Rashford, Bruno who also happened to be his key players, so he had to adapt and choose to implement what would be a strength for this specific personnel which was counter attacking football.
I would have felt sorry for Ten Hag but he was given the opportunity to get his own players but he ended up squandering loads of money on players who turned out to be duds. He was given the chance through money and time to put together a decent team that could play good football yet has miserably failed. Given the football on display is horrible, I see no point sticking with him. The biggest sell on Ten Hag was this idea that he'd bring good football and hasn't done so. Time to part ways.
