Switzerland and Greece also missed out on the flag parade in addition to Ireland. feck's going on?
Boycott?Switzerland and Greece also missed out on the flag parade in addition to Ireland. feck's going on?
I agree with most of this (Norway 1995 -10 is greatJudging past winners by cheesiness levels. I stand by my original position on cheese.

I reckon quite a few artist would be more than a bit peeved from the Dutch being banned over an alleged incident, while Israel are being allowed to participate.Switzerland and Greece also missed out on the flag parade in addition to Ireland. feck's going on?
Lordi and Måneskin were among the better entries, so unless your scale is reversed it makes no sense.Judging past winners by cheesiness levels. I stand by my original position on cheese.

This is such a cluster feck and so avoidable. Wouldn't it have just been easiest for the jury not to put Israel through the semi finals? If they weren't going to do it before the event itself, surely that would have been a sensible thing to do.
Setting a precedent on a banning a country (which isn't the obvious one) the day before the show is an irony that isn't even worth bringing up.
Bambie Thug (Ireland) is apparently pissed about the Israel broadcaster comments about their act. Don't know whether that is related to the flag parade incident or not.I reckon quite a few artist would be more than a bit peeved from the Dutch being banned over an alleged incident, while Israel are being allowed to participate.
Wonder if this is Bambi reporting the songwriter of the Israeli entry for targeting them on Instagram. Against the rules apparently.Tweet

Cheesiness is always relevant to the era.I agree with most of this (Norway 1995 -10 is great), but Italy 2021 the joint second cheesiest winner ever is the opinion of an insane person. If anything it's just a bit of generic (but well performed) rock music.
I feel like banning the guy who literally starts his performance with "Europe let's come together" might have set a bad precedent on that score. So much for being an event of unity and joy.
Yep. The only reason it made it to number one was because everyone bought it thinking it was a edm banger.I just remember a whole generation being scarred by that advert implying the whole song was an Out of Space like club banger only realise it was some weird emo rubbish
I also got bait and switched all those years ago.Yep. The only reason it made it to number one was because everyone bought it thinking it was a edm banger.
It looked and sounded to me like a big chicken on a stage.I've just watched the Croatia entry in the semi-finals and have to say I'm impressed with the song. great staging with a knowing nod to "my lovely horse" in the screen visuals. I think all countries should unite behind Croatia winning just to wind up the Israelis!
As always, Switzerland pioneering political action. Typical for them.GB, Ireland, Greece, Portugal and Switzerland all considering to withdraw.
You Twitter folk must realise that nobody is able to read threads.

Let's go!GB, Ireland, Greece, Portugal and Switzerland all considering to withdraw.
Where've you seen that? Would be great.GB, Ireland, Greece, Portugal and Switzerland all considering to withdraw.
Have they not said they wont be there ?Is this the year where Eurovision goes from being comedy movie material to a full fledged Hollywood drama?
Joost threatening someone and getting banned. Israeli media doing their best to antagonise contestants. Martin Österdahl running around trying to convince contestants to stay in the contest. Crisis meetings. The temperature of the protests rising outside as the Israeli contestant openly mocks other contestants on social media. Police being called in from neighbouring countries, anti-terror task forces deployed in Malmo.
All that is missing now is ABBA deciding against showing up.
What happened to politics being kept out of this thread? Political posts have been deleted when they lean one way, but the posts leaning the other way are fine apparently.

Those and the crowd chanting "Euro pa pa" seem inevitable.Any bets on what unexpected turn of events are we going to witness tonight?
- Multiple countries withdrawing 5/1
- Contestants showing up in the main event with Palestine flags 3/1
- Uncontrollable booeing from the crowds 5/2
- Judge voting completely at odds with public voting 1/8
- Everything goes smoothly 1000/1
I think that ship well and truly sailed today. You don't know what was deleted. Because it was deleted.
All deleted posts were deleted by me I think and it was an attempt to keep politics out but I gave up.
I think that ship well and truly sailed today.
That's a free bet considering that's pretty much every year, at least with a few songs. Usually Norway, actually. But probably not this year.Any bets on what unexpected turn of events are we going to witness tonight?

Second last with three points.Germany's participant from 2021 on anti-booing:
I don't recognize him, but I assume since he's German he finished in the bottom 5? Seems like a nice guy anyway.
