  1. Really - why did so many of you think Mourinho was better than LVG?

The difference between LvG and JM are that LVG saw the weaknesses of our squad and based his tactic on those. The squad of last season didn't contain many world class players, so he made a strong unit out of our defense and midfield. Our play going forward suffered from that, but the...

We shoudn't have fired LVG. He got the same if not better results (definitely against the top), while playing youth/young players mainly and allowing them to develop.
  3. LVG: the inside story

I always liked to believe that players are not children who need to be told to do their homework. As a professional football player and grown-up I would assume that you have the desire to improve yourself all the time, and would not need multiple kicks in the butt or certain circumstances in...
  4. LVG: the inside story

Exactly. As a player you should be constantly trying to improve yourself, doesn't matter what age you are. It appears that there are multiple rotten apples in the squad who apparently can't take a simple e-mail with points to focus on and rather be lazy than improve.
  5. Javier 'Chicarito' Hernandez: thank you and goodbye.

If he would have stayed he would have been just a short term solution. He's a good striker for the Leverkusens and the Evertons of this world, but our aim should lie higher, also for the bench. Considering that Rashford might have not gotten into first XI if he had stayed, I think it was for our...
  6. Best defensive record in the league

Though if he would have done this more in the last years of his tenure, then I'm quite sure we would have been in a much better state right now.
  7. What will you do if LVG stays next season?

Fergie built a beautiful palace, but unfortunately he let it go old by not maintening it propely. It grew so bad, that only a few of the halls could be retained and the rest had to be rebuild.

Yes. At this point in time we do not have any attacking players of the quality Silva, Aguero, Ozil and Sanchez in our selection. We have players who can get to that level (Martial, Rashford, Shaw), but they are inconsistent and need 2-4 years before they hit their peak and are world class.

You can discuss about how enjoyable the matches were, but other than December that results have been okay considering the team we have. From Fergie's 12/13 squad, a lot of players retired or weren't/are no longer good enough to play in the first team of United. Only Rooney, DDG and Smalling...
  10. LVG Out Thread | BBC: Sacked!

It's also shortsighted to still blame a manager for having one bad month in a whole competition. December is the only month that we have been really bad resultswise, the other months have been OK. Look at where we would have been now if that month would have been the same as the other months. We...

Ah, another poster who likes to bend the truth just to have a dig at LVG. Today we lost control for 10 minutes only after Everton being given a penalty. We then regained control until Smalling's own goal. In the end he made the winning sub. There is enough you can complain about, but not today.
  12. LVG Out Thread | BBC: Sacked!

That is a fair opinion, as I said in my post. I don't really think Klopp is a good example. Up until a few weeks ago, he hadn't really performed anything of note with Liverpool. Now that he plays two good matches (Arsenal and Borussia), everyone is suddenly lyrical. We had a similar run of...
  13. LVG Out Thread | BBC: Sacked!

The only one who are deluded are those who think they are entitled to winning just because we are called "Manchester United". Standards have been dropping for years and years before LVG arrived. One can only conclude that when comparing the line-up of 07/08 with the one of five years later...

With Schweini, Schneiderlin, Rooney and Shaw injured, the outfield players in our first eleven aren't much better than Stoke's. We have a lot of potential, but a lot of our players are far from fully developed and perform inconsistently.
  15. Summer Clear Out 2016

Sir Alex had a team with maybe 3-4 average players and the rest would be world class (top 5 of the world in their position). At this point, we have just one world class player: DDG.
