This is silly really, teams know how much of a mess this club is, there's a reason things have gone the same way with basically every manager. ETH won't struggle to find another job after this one, and will likely be quite successful.
He will be successful in a league where the team he coaches is miles in front of the remaining group from a financial perspective. If he has competition like we have in the PL, he will be shown up to be the fraud that he is.

Simply the worst post-Ferguson manager. An absolute disgrace after the money spent.

We just lost to Nottingham Forest and apparently the only thing you care about is Ten Hag succeeding in his next job

Yet people deny the manager cult.

Seems likely he’s done, but I hope he’s not alone going out the door.

Wanted this guy and got caught up in the hype, from now on each new United manager will be greeted by me with a massive dose of cynicism.

“Prove it.”

The same was said for Ole, and yet here we are.

EtH won’t coach again in England, and the big clubs won’t touch him. He will go back to Holland, probably to Ajax, but his shot at a big club (by modern standards) has been completely burned.

Despite that half of Caf cultivated a bizarre idea that he is there with Klopp and Pep, the only other big club interviewed him for a job was Spurs, and they decided against it.

I am shocked things have gone wrong to this extent, given his excellent first season, but here we are. ETH has been very unlucky with injuries and he’s been forced to deal with a circus off the pitch, but the fact is no United manager can survive these results. Most of his signings haven’t worked. It looks like the end is nigh, and it certainly looks like many of the players have given up on him.

22 goals scored in 20 games. This is less than Luton, Bournemouth, Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Wolves. Tragic, absolutely tragic.

Some in-game decisions and management have little to do with the state of the club. There have been too many idiotic decisions made by ETH.

I dread every single away game under him.

I know for a fact we'll get outplayed and it's just blind hope that we'll somehow scrape a result. Which we never do unless it's against straight up relegation candidates.

Whats the point of him?

Really? What's Ole's current job? What did De Boer get after the Palace disaster? I don't think you understand how damaging a bad coaching job can be for a young manager with little to no pedigree. Jose and LVG relied on their pedigrees to land them good jobs after United. Ten Hag does not have anywhere near the same reputation.

He's blaming injuries today.
Injuries are the only thing that can save him. If Antony is out and he’s forced to play Amad it immediately makes us better. Bruno out against Liverpool saved us from a hiding too.

They haven't gone the same way with every manager. We're likely to finish bottom half if we give him the whole season.

He has to get sacked now. I'm sick of his stubbornness, atrocious recruitment(Antony...) and ridiculous substitutions.

Our results were better, but a lot of the time we didn't play particularly well. We were lucky to finish as high as we did and a lot of it was down to the failure of the teams around us. It was very noticeable towards the end of the season.

Ole turned down multiple job offers after his United stint, we don't know who they were but he clearly had some options.

As for Ten Hag, if he goes back to Ajax and does anywhere near as well as he did the first time around he'll find a job at a big club easily.

Just look at Emery, who many on the caf now want to be his replacement. He was a laughing stock after Arsenal (understandably so), but has rehabilitated his image at clubs that aren't a circus and looks set for another job at a big club sooner rather than later.

Yeah, Murphy's Law and all that. Last season I honestly felt we were going somewhere with direction at long last but here we are.

Emery had a very good pedigree before Arsenal

I won't argue that he's made some wrong decisions, and some poor signings, but the latter doesn't happen at a better run club. He'll be fine after United.

Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen speaking to BBC MOTD: "This season in general has been one step forward and two steps back and it felt like that today. Our aim was to get three points so it's definitely disappointing to come away with zero.

"We tried our best but sometimes the luck and the better decisions in the final third, the better defending and the small details don't happen.

"We had our chances. They had a lot less but scored them. At the moment we don't. We need a few chances to score goals and it makes things more difficult.

"Everyone is just trying to get goals to help the team. We are in the situation to score but at the moment it won't go in.

"Things will heal and get better. There's only one way forward and that's to work hard. Sometimes it goes against us. As a footballer you want the best game every day but the only way to do that is to work."

Do you believe things will get better? "Yes, I do believe that, yes."

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live after the loss against Nottingham Forest: "First half performance was OK. We invested to do less in the final third. I think we should have created more.

"The second half we had moments when we conceded goals. Then we come back in the game and I think the game was ours and we went for 2-1 and then we conceded. We had our moments but it was not good enough to win here."

On the need to be more consistent: "We know that. We have to make our performances consistent and have to do better. A game is 90 minutes and we have to invest from the first minute on.

"We are hopeful that many players will be back in the new year and they will strengthen the team and the squad.

"We know the reasons why it is not working. No team can deal with so many issues and injuries we have gad. We should still have done better and we have depth in the squad. When you have so many injuries, the depth is not enough."

Can’t they still have a say now though?
They probably know what they want to do, but they're not officially in charge yet so probably can't do anything until they are. They'll want to talk to ETH aswell I'd say

If you could read you'd be in danger of making a good post someday. The only thing I care about is Man Utd succeeding, I'm just not blind enough to expect that getting rid of yet another manager will cause that to happen given the state of the rest of the club.

To be honest, I could see him getting another big club gig eventually simply because the likes of Real and Barcelona make weird hires all the time. But I wouldn't expect him to last very long because those clubs have actual standards and quickly rectify any hiring mistakes they make.
