The players are looking much more familiar with how ETH wants us to play. I've spotted Casemiro at LB, CB, CM and RB. Really fluid and enjoyable football so far. We still need to be fitter and more alert defensively in the middle of the pitch though. Having the 1st team back has been really important.

This half has been actually brilliant . Hopefully a turning point.

Got to give credit it to him for the Rashford call as I wasn’t expecting him to go back into the first team straight away but he’s been excellent, as has Hojlund.
Who would have thought that having some of the best and most important players back (Shaw, Martinez, Casemiro) would help. Rashford regaining some of his last season form and McT far, far away from the team and a top 4 spot might actually still be possible

I think the first three PL games after this little break will be make or break for him... I really hope we will see massive improvement after some time to really put some work into the training and work with his players, plus Martinez and Casemiro coming back, and Hojlund who started to show some muscle..

Wolves AWAY, West Ham HOME, Villa AWAY.. I really think we need a minimum of 7 points there for him to keep his seat and play needs to improve..

Then Luton AWAY and Fulham HOME after that just need to be 6 points and convincing wins.. Then you have the City game where you can show how much you have grown .
I want myself to be right about this... Signs after this firts half against Wolves look promising!

But but but injuries are just an excuse! :wenger:

Not saying that we will be world beaters now or anything, but so many moaners on here disregarding the injury shambles we have had this season and how important it is to have consistent fist team and screaming "excuses" constantly. Like common sense doesn't exist in some people's heads at all. Only the agenda.

If he can string some results and performances together. He should be backed another season.

The squad needs additions desperately so we don't fall into the abyss again after a few injuries.

Needs strong oversight from a DOF and the willingness to say NO when it matters though.

Much better first half, amazing what happens when you actually play with a midfield rather than leaving a guy who is maybe past their best or an 18 year old completely alone in there. It feels like in recent weeks he's figured out the best attack though, Garnacho hasn't been as good as he can so far tonight but there's so much more threat and a better balance with him and Rashford even side of an increasingly dangerous Hojlund.

It's almost like the fair argument that Ten Hag hasn't had his first team available and has been in situations where he has had to field first xi worse on paper than the teams Ole and Rangnick were putting out two seasons ago whilst the rest of the league has only gotten stronger since then and those factors could be detrimental to our league position and team performance could ACTUALLY hold some weight.

Our fan base is so impatient it's unreal, I have even seen posters suggest the Ratcliffe takeover can be judged in 12 months. We are so far behind modern football it's a disgrace, this is a long term problem that is going to take years to get right.

He must've been a really good manager and not a fraud these past few days.

Hopefully he won't become a poor manager during half time.

It was almost inevitable that we were going to get better. We were on course for a worse points total (53 pts) than the Ralf / Ole season (58 pts) and significantly worse total than the Moyes season (67 pts I think). I still don't think he's the guy but let's get a run together now.

I hope you can still have a good night and wont be too upset if Manchester United win and ETH isnt sacked tonight :(
This is the same tripe that was spouted under Ole also, as if fans want United to lose on an almost weekly basis. Stop talking rubbish.

Some people are really risking it here calling out others after one good half. Majority of us would enjoy to be proven wrong, but it's one fecking half against Wolves, are people really that stupid?

Pure delusion. Our fanbase is the most patient in Europe, by a mile. All of our post-SAF managers would've been run out of town at least twice over at every one of our peer clubs.

Yeah because I don’t rate a manager I want my team to lose.

Indeed. It’s absolute nonsense.

It's like we also have to forget that his tactics made Casemiro look like an old man ealier in the season. The players haven't been great, the manager hasn't been great and we haven't been lucky with injuries. All these statements can be true.

The subtext there is that anyone who doesn't support or rate the manager isn't a real fan of the club. The sub-subtext is that loyalty to the manager comes first and foremost before anything else when supporting the club.

It’s like there’s a division between real fans who will support the manager no matter what and thus support the club, and false, ungrateful fans who criticize the manager and don’t want the team to do well.

This is a very good performance. If this was our normal level, I’d obviously not criticize ETH like I did not last season.

Not his fault really to be fair. Subs were quite bad but we should have been out of sight much earlier. This was a good performance.

His inability to get his teams to see games out is his biggest downfall.

If he can ever manage to get over that he might be a great manager but he won't be here for much longer
