Well he won with half the amount of votes needed in labours win in 2019, and less than 2nd place too.
Obviously voter turn out is less for a by-election, but its quite obvious he won on a populis platform, when labour didn't really have a candidate, they withdraw all support, and the tories were never going to win.

Because it's not hard to deduce that come general election time, under a higher turn out with an actual labour candidate, the votes he got will be split.
You add together what Galloway got and the Tory candidate and you get approximately what the tories got in Rochdale in the last general election. You stick an actually labour candidate in, they're probably winning.
