Absolutely. Winning the FA Cup would just be considered a bonus after tonightSee I told you all he was the right man for the job

Don’t be daft. Let’s just stick to one and support him despite how ugly it gets. (To a certain point)Then let's just not have a manager at all
Non of them and in all honestly I didn’t like any of them. I do like Erik though and I hope he is given the support he needs to turn this around.Who has gone on to do great things after being sacked by United then? Surely one of them would have proved us wrong.
Let them have their new saviour, and watch them devour him soon enough. I'm with you, it's going to take a leap of faith from upper management for anybody to succeed because I just don't see how any realistic potential new manager will survive this 24/7 coverage. So United haven’t been awful for the last 11 years? We haven’t played good football in 11 years with numerous proven managers at the helm. Every single manager we have had has ended in a ball of flames. Every single manager has got worse and worse.. because the rot has set in deeper and deeper. It will only get worse until the root issue is solved. It’s beyond simply changing a manager.
pep wouldn’t win the league at man united. Neither would Klopp. Neither would ancelotti.
this is bigger than a managerial change. We need to try something different and actually BACK a manager. No matter how bad it gets, it will take time, it will get ugly, it won’t be pretty. We knew this. We have known this for a long time. Once the rot is cleared and it’s a totally different team/squad/set up, then the excuses run out.
Pretty much. There are absolutely other factors, but they don't overweight the fact that we've been signing poor managers, just as we have players like Antony and Sancho. It's not always that complicated and deep. A change in ownership on the football side will hopefully change this cycle for the better.
What do you like about him? His eyes? His voice? Because statistically he's one of our worst managersNon of them and in all honestly I didn’t like any of them. I do like Erik though and I hope he is given the support he needs to turn this around.
A lobotomy?Non of them and in all honestly I didn’t like any of them. I do like Erik though and I hope he is given the support he needs to turn this around.
I think it's the accent mateWhat do you like about him? His eyes? His voice? Because statistically he's one of our worst managers
Of defeats? Can see us going on a run now
Some like to jump through hoops to point out all the other factors while ignoring the obvious elephant in the room. A common denominator with all our post-Fergie appointments is that none of them have been remotely good enough to take us further than a second rate cup or, a distant second place finish.Correct Robbie.
The Glazers, but we'll ignore that hey. Some like to jump through hoops to point out all the other factors while ignoring the obvious elephant in the room. Strange criteria for wanting to keep or sack a managerI will be fine with giving ETH another season if he doesn’t start Anthony again or Rashford when he returns from his injury. But fat chance that will happen.
Yep, there have been systematic problems above them for sure. Recruitment has been crap but then we have mostly given managers control over targets so they've have to share in blame for that. Some like to jump through hoops to point out all the other factors while ignoring the obvious elephant in the room. It's the exact opposite. Today was the first coherent team performance in a while and it looked like we had a decent philosophy. SHU had two fluke goals out of nowhere.Everything that has to be said has been said.
Today we were bailed out by individual class.
against the 2nd string of Sheffield.
They had given up before the game even started yet we wanted to let them in.
Team looks lost, confused and out of ideas.

Well yeah, I literally alluded to other factors in my previous post. Our managers not being good enough and the club being a fecking mess aren't mutually exclusive. The Glazers, but we'll ignore that hey.
Our owners are clueless, pariah scumbags. But, your second paragraph sums it up.Yep, there have been systematic problems above them for sure. Recruitment has been crap but then we have mostly given managers control over targets so they've have to share in blame for that.
Despite how poorly the club has been run, a top manager given the control and the resources the last 5 have received would have did a lot more with them than we've managed since 2013.
Not to take anything away, but this Sheffield United defense is on its way to being the worst defense in Premier League history. Probably has quite a bit to do with that as well. It's the exact opposite. Today was the first coherent team performance in a while and it looked like we had a decent philosophy. SHU had two fluke goals out of nowhere.
The team knew exactly what they were doing and found Bruno / the wingers in space plenty of times. That's why we scored four.
There was definitely a difference today, even if it was just against Sheffield United. I think if we didn't have a makeshift defence we would've won that game even more comfortably, 4-0 maybe.72% posession. 7 shots allowed. Maybe Wilcox actually did tell Ten Hag to play differently? Maybe Ten Hag had been ordered to play transitional before now? Lots of questions...
I agree - in my mind he told Ten Hag results be damned, the season is over, present the football you would ideally like United to play. We're smart enough to not be reactionary if we see progress.72% posession. 7 shots allowed. Maybe Wilcox actually did tell Ten Hag to play differently? Maybe Ten Hag had been ordered to play transitional before now? Lots of questions...
They also had the recruitment though, Klopp didn't just do it with substandard players. They bought extremely well because of the people above Klopp. There is that story about the club pushing Salah on him when he wanted Brandt...Well yeah, I literally alluded to other factors in my previous post. Our managers not being good enough and the club being a fecking mess aren't mutually exclusive.
Liverpool's owners were derided until Klopp came along. Suddenly, no Liverpool fan cared about them anymore.
It was much better yes. Something to build on hopefully.I know it was only Sheffield but it was a very good performance.
I wouldn't read anything of beating a wretched SU side at home. By virtue of having far superior players, we were always going to win.72% posession. 7 shots allowed. Maybe Wilcox actually did tell Ten Hag to play differently? Maybe Ten Hag had been ordered to play transitional before now? Lots of questions...
Turn what around? He is the reason we need to "turn around", he burned 400 million and we are worse than when he started, all our lines have problems. He is the main cause of our problems.Non of them and in all honestly I didn’t like any of them. I do like Erik though and I hope he is given the support he needs to turn this around.
Our performances at Old Trafford under him have been relatively decent under him, even at times this season. Then the away games come against literally anybody and we get absolutely pummeled all over the pitch. It was much better yes. Something to build on hopefully.
Doesn't work like that mate. They have to apply themselves. To their credit, they did tonight for the most part.I wouldn't read anything of beating a wretched SU side at home. By virtue of having far superior players, we were always going to win.
Yes, they had Edwards who was behind that. But, let's be honest, Klopp, like Fergie, made players play well above their true levels. He's clearly a top manager. Unfortunately, we still haven't hired a manager of that calibre post-Fergie.They also had the recruitment though, Klopp didn't just do it with substandard players. They bought extremely well because of the people above Klopp. There is that story about the club pushing Salah on him when he wanted Brandt...
No, I have a MS in sports management and sports analytics.Let me guess… you play fm?
Chaos? Was a pretty comfortable win tonight. Controlled the game for large parts and didn't panic when we had the two setbacks. Solid performance. Some United fans want this chaos to continue for another season. As Logan Roy would say, you're not serious people.
