He offers very little and isn’t even very good defensively other than 1v1 situations. It’s a no brainer to sell him before his contract runs out next summer but given all the other needs not sure if there will be time and funds to do that.

A complete travesty. He's good at defending 1v1's but useless going forward and severely lacks awareness and football IQ. For their second goal, it's vital that he gets close to their winger and blocks the cross. He even has plenty of time to do so. Yet, he does nothing.

As seen throughout his career here he just doesn't have the mentality or intensity to his game to play for us, let alone the lack of technical ability. Really need to move him on.

Can we agree he's no better at RB right now? Last night was just incredible. He just kinda lazes about out there. It's bizarre.

He's a purely reactive footballer, does absolutely nothing proactive. He's a 26 year-old senior professional defender, who doesn't do any of the defending unless there's a ball within 10 feet of him to try and reach. If you get the full clip of the second goal, just watch - it's incredible how little he moves, how slowly he does, how he senses no danger whatsoever and contributes nothing to preventing the goal.

Even when he was 'good' it was notable how many goals were scored by the opposition just playing a long cross from the opposite side, where he would forget to mark his man at the back post.

But. This is ETH luck-land and we have literally no other warm body. There's a reason he was preferring Lindelof at FB. Those saying Amass - he's a literal child and nowhere near ready physically for this league. Calm down.

Just look back at the last 4 or 5 games and see how many goals he was nowhere to be seen or was almost directly at fault for. Defensively he has zero awareness and cannot read the game. Technically he is a dreadful player, all you have to do is look at how he controls and passes the ball to see, people called it awkward, it's not, it's just poor technical ability.

He. Is. Awful. Just awful. So slow to close down his man every single time! What are you waiting for?? Close out the cross!! Didnt do it for 2nd goal today, didnt do it for first and third goal vs Coventry.

It's absolutely night and day between him and dalot who looks so sharp and quick, on top of actually being competent technically.

I yearn for the day that we have a genuine plan to get rid of players like him that have stunk up the place for years.
He always does this, he lazily jogs towards the guy hoping they try to take him on. If it's a cross or pass hes completely taken out of the equation

His purchase didn't make sense and still doesn't. We moved away from Smalling because he couldn't play out the back but then bought him and kept DDG for so long.

Anyway another we need to move on, hopefully don't keep him longer than needed to with new ownership

Spot on. He just wants a one on one, all he's good at!

The less said about our player recruitment the better. Criminal how not only did we overpay on almost every purchase, but we managed to somehow collect a group of players that are basically the antithesis of one another. That extends to the manager.

Wan bissaka, casimero, lindelof, varane have to be moved on. Also Maguire and mcT, while their stock is high. Got the feeling though that, as with basically every summer, we barely move anyone on except those leaving on a free.

Jog, jog, jog, don't close him down, back down, pass backwards, pass backwards, pass sideways, jog, jog, don't close him down, back down to the keeper's lap, jog...

He used to be very aggressive in 1-on-1 situations, doesn't seem to do that anymore for some reason.

Utterly wank. Move Dalot back to the right and play Amass for the remaining games.

Barcelona play a 17 year old CB in the CL knockouts vs Mbappe but we're scared shitless of giving Amass games in the remaining dead rubber league fixtures.

Absolutely brain dead, rubbish on the ball and refuses to engage the winger on the ball.

He's got no redeeming qualities at all.

I can't see why we don't play Amass. It's not as if we can salvage anything this season

He shouldn't have moved back to the right. The team lost most of the positive you get from Dalot and gained nothing from AWB being back in his "natural position."

He really lacks the fight.
In once occassion Burnley was on a counter he just casually jogged back while Garnacho sprinted back

To think we paid £50m for this utterly hopeless player! The very definition of a league 1 player, and so ehow has managed to survive 4 seasons...only at a club like Utd!

The difference being that was one of Dalot’s quietest games for a long time and he’s out of position. It’s not even close to a debate anymore.

Looks like he has no confidence. To be fair he's always looked like that. Does something nice like dribble past two players and then he tries to offload the ball as soon as possible like it's about to blow.

He’s not good enough for a top half PL team, he hasn’t progessed at all since he’s been with us, I think he’s actually regressed. We need to get rid for any price in the summer.

Tbf the aggression on one on one's was when he was being taken on. Otherwise he would be hopeless when it went out and he had to cover ground to stop a pass or cross.

Arsenal also threw 50m at Ben White. Neither are good enough for a top team. Atleast AWB is one of the best 1v1 defender in the world. It's his other areas of the game that are sorely lacking.

Let’s not engage in ridiculous nonsense
To be a premier league level fullback, you need to have a certain amount of attacking skills going forward. He has zero and doesn’t contribute anything going forward. He’s very rash and keeps making mistakes. Solely being good in 1-1 situations isn’t really good enough to qualify for being PL quality. Maybe he could do well in the Championship but certainly not PL quality.
