Alexis Sanchez | Done deal

The state of Arsenal's squad being exaggerated right now although I can understand why given how it's performing. I think the manager is the bigger problem. A top manager would see there's something to work with IMO although it badly needs investment.

On current form obviously. Some players have potential, but either injury or Wenger dont get the best out of them. If Wenger can use Mkhi and increase his form and wellbeing, he will be better than most of them.

" gentleman agreement". Ha ha ha. For fans, football is football . For everybody else involved, it is business that provides bread on the table. So alexis should refuse aprox.20 mil( wages, bonuses, sponsors) because he told city "i am yours"? Would jamie refuse 20 mil?
Is he that naive or is he just stupid?

If we can get this across the line with very little money changing hands it's one hell of a deal for us.

I would imagine Mkhi is going to be Ozil's replacement when he inevitably fecks off for nowt at the end of the season.

Raiola actively speaking out and trying to set the narrative is PR 101.

Notice how they talk about Mkhi being calm, how much contract is left. It's all about shaping the narrative as "Mkhi could have seen out his contract and looked elsewhere....but he chose arsenal".

There are little things in all of the Raiola briefings that highlight not only is he shaping the narrative, but he is actively pursuing the transfer.

IMO, we should all be fecking ecstatic right now. I think this deal is about to happen.

The only men Raiola cares about are Raiola and Raiola's client. If United is not playing ball well enough and on time, he'll be happy to take his client to Chelsea if Chelsea shows enough intent and is ready to spend without restraints. E.g Chelsea is happy to pay Arsenal for Sanchez, pay Raiola for his agency fees and pay whatever wages Sanchez wants. Perhaps the biggest obstacle to Mikhi going to Arsenal is wage related. Is Arsenal ready to pay Mikhi? He currently gets about 200,000 pounds a week at United. He'll probably ask Arsenal for something closer to 300,000 pounds per week. My guess is that Arsenal will be reluctant to pay him that kind of money. Chelsea on the other hand, wouldn't mind.

I think it comes down to how badly United wants Sanchez. The club will certainly have the option of 'buying' Mikhi off if Arsenal is reluctant. But then, that will make the Sanchez fee begin to look excessive.

Wouldn't be surprised if this deal was announced as Arsenal signing Mkhitaryan with Sanchez being used as a part-ex.

Can not in a million years see it being Sanchez + caah for Mkhi. No chance.

I know it's only been suggested by a few people and all, but can you imagine the Arsenal fan shitstorm

Felicevic is Sanchez's agent though not Riola.

Even if Miki rejects them, I think it'll happen. I doubt we offered purely a money+ player deal. There is probably a just money option that Arsenal have to fall back on if Miki doesn't work, but they're trying to get Miki first. Hoping that at least.

Raiola isn't Sanchez' agent, though.

Suspect Mikhi's agent is trying to get a golden handshake payment out of united given how important it is for the deal that Mikhi agrees the move given his contact remaining.

Understandable under the circumstances

So the holdup has to be Mhiki’s salary for the remainder 2 1/2 years left on his contract. I take it Arsenal won’t match what we are paying him, so there needs to be a payoff from United to Mhiki’s camp, also including a fee for Raiola, as compensation for lower salary and lower status of club.

Sky sources are now reporting that Chelsea have made contact with West Ham over the potential loan/signing of the mighty Andy Carrol! It’s nice to hear they are getting the important business out the way before they hyjack the Sanchez deal.

This thread must be an absolute nightmare for mods to control..

8PM is very exact. How did you arrive at this time?

No scientific logic. 8pm CET is 2PM in New York. Seems a good a times as any.. It's defientely happening now. The comments from the agent confirm it. I think not only are we signing a top top player, we are managing to shift someone who has really under performed.

they killed the deal in August with City at the last minute cos they couldn't get a replacement. Wouldn't be surprised to see that happen again

I was with you until the last bit. I doubt use of lower status of the club is likely to persuade the player to move!

Nah they banked on keeping Sanchez and him firing them to top 4. That hasnt happend. Rightly or wrongly he hasnt prodcued what he is capable of and their top 4 chances have gone whether he stays or goes. $$$ is their objective now
