I don't buy in to this at all. Mkhitaryan surely wants to move on and start playing football again. It's nothing more than posturing from Raiola to get the most money possible.
That is 100% Raiola. Raiola is setting the media narrative for "Mkhi making the decision to join arsenal".

It's all a PR game. This deal is almost done.

So all this stuff's from Raiola's briefing? Take Ornstein's with a pinch of salt as well then.

Nice moral stance! Thanks City, bonus moral points for allowing us to compete with you next season!
I don't think it has anything to do with morals.

City don't value him higher than a £20m fee because they are spoilt with choices upfront. We will take him as we need someone on the right, and someone who can step into the central role with greater efficiency.

Sanchez isn't immoral either. At this stage United is the only club he can switch to now because of the club fee they are ready to pay. He doesn't mind us as a substitute to City and so he agreed. This is where Jaime is wrong - beating Sanchez with a stuck under a careless assumption that he told City he'd come to them last summer.

I really wish Pogba would switch agents. Rom too (but not as important). Can't stand Raiola.

Reading between the lines, this is so happening. It's so far out there, Wenger basically admitted it, City briefed it last night, Mou openly spoke about it and now Raiola as well.

If Sanchez doesn't sign for us, I'll follow through on the promise @Pexbo didn't during the Vidal saga.

Why do people, including journos, keep saying it as if Wenger is leading all negotiations? I can't see that actually being the case?

We will pick up Martial in 12 months when the situations are reversed & his contract is up.

May even throw Mkhitaryan in to sweeten the deal for United.
that arsenal-mania forum is funny

Raiola can talk about Mkhi but he has absolutely no clue as to whether we can get Sanchez for cash only.

It's probably cash or cash plus Mkhi. He's spinning it to make it sound like it's only the latter so that Mkhi looks to be the most important pawn of the transfer.

I'm one to rarely pick the victim card but while I do think that the Carraghers take which is endorsed by this journalist makes logical sense from City's POV:

1. Usually when we or other clubs lose out on a player to another club it's portrayed as a loss for us and a win for then. Whereas in this case I see a lot of sympathy for the ethical City who are apparently the football choice. It's all a bit amusing given how the narrative has been different in the past.

2. And if Sanchez chose United and wants to come here where is the question of City 'walking away '? They're walking away from a player who chose to play for someone else. Fascinating.

So Arsenal are giving us Sanchez and money for Mhki?
I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case. We're not desperate to sell Mkhi, we can afford to and would happily keep him, and he would attract a fee of > £30m on the market were someone desperate to buy him, given he's got 30 months on his contract. Arsenal are going to struggle to find a better option for a similar price.

Gotta give it to Raiola. He puts a spin on the stories and mkhi comes out looking good. The way the transfer takes place is very important to the confidence of the player and the respect he earns at his new club.

According to BBC guy, it's possible only with Mkhi involved

The problem with saying that the wage/fee that was agreed in the summer should be the same now is that the only who benefits of that is City because they will not pay Arsenal 60m now.
Ofc Sanchez should expect more money. Not his fault City waited until the end of the transfer window to push the deal.

Yep. If Mkhitaryan doesn't work out we can easily just pay Arsenal his agreed valuation. Either way it's a cheap transfer for us to get a top player.

If Raiola is talking, it means a deal is close. Obviously trying to cover for the fact that his client is about to take a step down by moving to Arsenal.

Yeah this is the way I see it. Reports were out there a few days that United are willing to pay whatever (£35M) to get Sanchez and James Cooper from Sky Sports basically said the same thing this morning on SSN. If the Mkhi swap doesn't work then we'll pay up.

This exactly. He is an idiot, no one will ever believe like he wants us to. It feels like Arsenal called and said we want Mkhi and we will give you Sanchez

This is obviously as good as done. Raiola trying to get good wages for Mkhi and keep his reputation high (Alexis part of Mkhi deal). Probably a few days and this should be done

But he said he was before. Good enough for me!

Now can someone help me find this bridge in San Francisco that a kind gentleman sold me online for a reasonable price?
Well maybe he did. Perhaps one or two million times.

The cnut does it with pretty much every time. It's ridiculous. It's becoming one of those "I'm not racist but" things.

The "Mkhi decided to join arsenal" PR narrative is swing into full effect.

Raiola and Mkhi don't want the sale to be seen as an outcast leaving. They want the PR to show Mkhi "Chose arsenal"
That does seem to make a lot of sense. At this point it's all about controlling the narrative.

That's exactly what I was thinking! We are literally the smartest people in the universe.
