Why do people insist on panicking when right now there is no evidence to do so? React to news as it happens, that’s the only way to deal with these situations.

it is not like we are 5th in the Standings. We are continuing to grow as Lingard, Martial and Rashford are getting better (while being 2nd)..plus Paul missed so many games, difficult to stay in rhythm..
The signing would be a mistake.
City are also looking to grow their squad being miles ahead in the league. Yes, we are second, but looking at the chasing pack, we are three unlucky/bad results from being in a dogfight.

In an ideal world, your view is correct, but with this market, you have to keep signing players to stay at the top. Sad, but true.

Jesus, I thought we'd signed Sanchez for a moment there. Frantically refreshing the home page until it loaded.

sosolid4u.........what is your moniker all about?

When football clubs are owned by states using them for political gain, it isn't me making it political, it becomes inherently political.
No you're the only one making it political. What you raised is an entirely different debate altogether.
The media's narrative all season has been about how City play open exciting football the "right" way. And we play boring football the "wrong" way. As ridiculous as that sounds that has been the noise all season long. Their point regarding Sanchez only going to United for the money is a continuation of that. They feel that at City he will play better football, under a more attacking manager, for a better team. So the only reason not to join them is Money!

They're conveniently forgetting the fact that we have the history, the facilities, the stadium and are a much bigger club. And that City are the club that spent spent spent.

Absolutely nobody is talking about politics. The narrative is purely based on a footballing sense and a clear anti United bias and agenda. You bought ISIS into it ffs calm down.

I think it's a case of mentally preparing for the worst, if they pretend to themselves its not going to happen, it somehow makes it easier if it ends up going pear shaped, when we all know if City end up getting him, those same people will be going bloody mental on here.

Has something turned in City’s favour? I usually see odds as a basic indication of how things are going or if something is happening, and last night we were at 1/5 and City 9/2

Now we’re both odds on and City much closer.

The usual cycle of muppetry suggests that no new news = it's off, even though arguably the most reliable journalist in the world said he's pretty much ours less than 24 hours ago. Happens every time.

Muppets just need to be told everything is going to be okay, repeatedly, like a needy, clingy significant other who you have to keep texting every half an hour so they don't think you've dumped them.

City’s odds are still extremely low for a team who’ve supposedly walked away. This saga is far from over IMO.

If ever City wanted to make a point about being more attractive to players/richer than us, this would be the perfect time.

The player by all accounts wants City
City won't pay over a certain amount
Probably unexpectedly we then come in
City just wait for us to agree a fee and package
Come in late and match it/slightly better it
Sanchez to City, United look stupid, journos who already brown nose Pep to oblivion have a field day
Or the simpler answer is.... City don't want to pay the new fees for a player that will be free in months.

Why would Man City go to the extent that your claiming?

Do you know how MUFC became the frontrunner? The agent asked us and we said ok.

Also, the player wants to leave arsenal more than join City.

Guys. We’ll see lots more tweets about it being very close, medical completed, Sanchez in Manchester etc. before there is anything official.

Betting odds move on stupid people flushing money down the drain and bookies moving prices to entice stupid people to bet on transfers.

Transfer betting has ZERO impact on a deal, and they have ZERO insight into what is happening.

We have other priorities transfer-wise. This is a luxury signing.

BUT he is mint.

BUUT, getting him could disrupt Martial & Rashford's development.

BUUUUT if you have the opportunity to get a top attacking player for £35m, you take it.

BUUUUUUT this will mean no Griezmann this summer....

If anything this would have a good effect on our younger players. He would probably play on the right so this won't affect any of the young players game time, and having the presence of an experienced, proven forward like Alexis takes lots of pressure off of their shoulders.

What extent? IMO they can just chill out, keep tabs with the agent, then swoop in. I am working off the assumption that Sanchez prefers City - this was widely & consistently reported so am assuming true

We only live around the corner
its funny how negative us fans get when positive news is around. People need to chill! all reputable journalists are pointing towards us signing him, but sure bob from guernsey think city are signing him and everyone goes mental.

This is a total fallacy. Of course the odds are dictated by money placed but when a deal is essentially done they will be rapidly cut or closed. It’s their job to make money so they’re not going to let ITK people fleece them. To act like they have zero insight is laughable.

Has anyone anywhere said that this is "off"? I haven't seen it. By all accounts we're very much in the mix.
