What do you expect him to do after the medical etc has been completed? He probably needs to go back to London to get his most important stuff before settling in at the Lowry. I doubt he brought everything he needed when driving up from London.
Or he could be on his way from London to Manchester for the reported afternoon medical. Now that I think about it, this is more likely. The other scenario was just derived from people saying it wasn’t snowing in London, but now people are saying it is. I dunno man.
