When will this myth about Herrera's passing being average stop?
Didn't someone posted images to prove he isn't in position and always passes backwards?

Not bad to have 11 assists for such a player.

11 assists for a player who played most of the season as a DMF. What a man.

A pivotal player for our midfield and we can't play without him.

He is just an excellent player, I will never understood people doubting him after this season.

Felt like he was saving himself a bit today but did his job, nonetheless. Good game.

Floated around inbetween Pogba and Fellaini nipping at Burnley players and always making himself available for a pass, fantastic assist as well.

That assist was perfect. He's so reliable and versatile.

Truly a massive presence for us this season.

Strong shout for player of the season because of his performances in every single big game, along with being consistent and reliable in the other ones. Love him

Brilliant again. We've finally got a solid centre midfield and it can get even better when we upgrade Fellaini/Carrick.

He does the dirty work so Pogba can be brilliant, excellent player, I have no reservations about him. One of the top few midfielders in the league, his passing, positioning and tackling are all excellent. We have a cracking pair of midfielders in him and Pogba. A solid DM behind them and we have one of the best midfields around.

I think it's clear now that he was easily our best player this season. He hardly had any poor games all season, I can't remembe when is the last time we had such a consistent performer playing on high level, except de Gea.

So glad he's finally getting the praise he deserves. I felt like I was banging my head against the wall at the beginning of the season, I'm sure many others were as well. He's just got so many strings to his bow.

Has anyone noticed that Herrera is beginning to develop a knack for coming up with crucial (and brilliant) assists?

EFL final. That smart lob to Zlatan for the winning goal.

The home game against Chelsea. That spectacular through ball to Rashford.

The game against Burnley. Everyone is talking about Martial but Herrera's pass was not as easy as it seemed. He had to get the timing and angle right and he did just that.

He is really turning out to be a world class midfielder.

FA Cup Semi final v Everton last season too for Martial's last minute winner.

Yeah, before this season I was starting to wonder whether we'd ever find a role for him but, wow, he's been great this season - he's everywhere! The sort of midfielder I hoped we were getting after seeing him for Bilbao

Looking over my shoulder.
Nah, Valencia is playing nowhere near Ander's level this season, IMO. Altough I agree he is one of our best players this season.
Valencia has been brilliant, and there seems to be quite a few posters who think he is our best player this season. I think it's between him and Herrera; the run-in will decide which player gets it. Valencia has hardly had a poor game. Herrera has had one or two at least.

Hmm.

Herrera has put in a few 5/10 performances for sure (whereas Valencia hasn't) but he has put in a lot more 8/10s than Valencia for me. Defensively Valencia has been very solid and he covers absolute miles on the right hand side.

But considering the freedom Valencia's given on that right hand side to play almost as a winger (the actual "winger" Mata/Mkhi usually tucking inside) I think his offensive contribution in terms of good crosses in the box, could have been a lot better.

That maybe me being very picky though. I still have him only 2nd to Herrera as my POTY with Ibra 3rd. Undoubtedly he's played a great part in our very good defensive record this year.

Valencia had many average games unlike Herrera. Herrera has been far more important defensively, and yet has far better output attacking wise despite Valencia being basically our main attacking outlet on the wings this season. Herrera has 11 or 12 assists this season.

It's so nice to see most people have now seen how great Ander is. Herrera-Pogba is a very good midfield, add a specialist DM and it will be top notch.
