Probably his best match for us. Swept well, made plenty of vital and clutch saves, held onto the ball and whilst passing out the back was a bit iffy, overall a really really solid game from him.

His best performance for us today, thought his hands looked solid the entire game for a change

Got lucky with a few saves, but showed some of his old self when he came charging out. Hope to see more of that.

Excellent today. Good aggression from him in sweeping and closing down that 1v1 in the first half. Solid saves otherwise as well. Let down by his defence for the goal.

Probably MOTM for us.

Looking much more focused with good positioning and strong presence in the whole game, he's really coming on.

Our outfield still should be stopping a lot of the attacks, we face around 20 shots per game

Then she sucks on my balls
I've given him alot of stick and have to hold my hands up in being hasty and wrong as the last two games he has actually looked very solid and for me one of our best players today, deserves his spot now.

Very solid today, a couple of very good saves and a few good ones. Finally seeing some potential.

Yup. He made a super save and was about to grab the ball when Varane (who had a very good game tbf) kicked the ball out of his hands and straight to the Villa player who assisted the goal.

Credit when credit is due. He was extremely good tonight — not only in terms of the saves but also with his sweeping that helped us out a lot.

He needed a game like this. Maybe it's is de gea moment even he saved that fk from mata.

Hopefully this boosts his confidence and we see the same keeper we know from inter days

Much better. Makes a difference when he can catch the fecking ball and not spill it back into the attackers

The sweeping was good and he also made a very good save in the first half when Watkins was through on goal and Onana came out and closed him down quickly and made the save. That is something we hardly ever saw since Van der Sar.

But it's all about consistency and hopefully we can see more of that from him until the end of the season.

Very good game, most surprising part was him catching the call instead of pushing it to 6 yard box.

He came off the line many times to collect the ball which helped defense. More of the same hopefully.

Yeah, the sheer amount of work he goes through is massively overlooked.

Villa had 10 shots on target today. For context, Liverpool only had 8 in the fecking 7-0. Only the keepers for actual relegation teams have had to make more saves:

That many saves while only having the 5th most goals conceded in the league is remarkable. He's had no protection at all, and while he shat the bed in the CL, his performances in the league have been very solid.

He’s settled down recently. Been good but unfortunately a bad start means the basic ladbible twats will perpetuate a myth.
