Huge amount of loan interest in him (and Garner) mainly from Championship clubs, so hopefully he manages to secure a good loan deal.

With Sancho and Rashford due to miss a big chunk of pre season/possibly first few matches, Elanga could be in a great position to cement himself as a first team option.

He showed against Wolves he's ready IMO.

What’s the expected pre season for the England boys? 2 week holiday, then 2 weeks training and touch and go for match day 1?

I guess Rashford could be longer if he needs surgery.

Think it's 3 weeks holiday. Rashford I expect won't be playing until October/November once he's had surgery.

I'd loan him to Holland or Belgium first. Don't think he is physically ready for the Championship.

They said rashford and sancho 3 weeks.

So they'll have 1 week of training before the first game, not enough to be fit really.

We will have James, Pogba, Greenwood, Cavani, Mata available for the first match injuries avoided.

eh? he's rapid, around 6 feet tall and made of muscle. Elanga won't be struggling in the championship.

Hopefully he gets a loan move at some point next season.

He's too good for the under 23's youth level.

Needs consistent competitive mens football for his next stage of development IMO.

I suspect we will keep him around the first team until Rashford/Sancho are fully fit, then look to loan him out.

Why is Sancho missing the start of the season? News to me.

2 weeks of training by my admittedly shite maths - back on 2nd august with the first match on the 14th.

Myth that the Championship is somehow this physical league where teams kick the shit out of each other

Seriously? He's one of the most physically developed players I remember seeing step in from the academy. He didn't look out of place at all in his first team cameos.

I think a loan to a middling Championship side would be best for him so he can get minutes under his belt but I even think he could play a bit part role here if we really wanted him to.

He's still just a boy. How many of our players actually have successful loans in the championship? It's time to stop overhyping our youngsters once again based on reserve team action and a few minutes in the first team.

Thats not necessarily all down to physicality.

Plenty over the years. Garner and Henderson the most recent examples.

Elanga is ready to play with the big boys. We aren't talking about Shoretire here who is younger and much smaller. Young players on the cusp want to be tested, and need to be tested if they want to play for United. Otherwise take up cricket.

He looked like he could play in the premier league to be honest when we started him last season. Probably not for a top 6 club and certainly would need time to adjust but I suspect he is more ready than people think.

I googled to see which clubs he was being linked with and stumbled on this.

Holy moly he's been training hard. What the feck.
The kid is built larger than most premier League players, I very much doubt physicality will be a problem for him as some are saying. Very much excited to see him during pre season!

He plays like he knows his strengths and knows how to make the most of them. If he can build on this during preseason, I wouldn't be surprised to see him getting on our bench quite regularly.

He's scored the most difficult of the three chances he had

The lack of composure aside he’s played well. Certainly improved since his goal.

Very exciting player.

But yes, needs a loan where he will play regular competitive football to get to that next step in his development.

Very bright today, probably the best player in the 2nd half.

Should get a loan. Exciting.

Said before too good for under-23 youth level.

Next stage of his development IMO a spell on loan playing adult first team football would do him good.
