Can the club just for once grow a pair and just get rid of him along with every other single person whom does not wish to be here? Please just feck them off and make some room for new arrivals. Sick to death of this crap. What a mess of a club we have become.

I think it's completely legitimate to have an issue with Martial refusing to show up for work when he's fit and supposed to be available, and getting paid an absurd wage for it.
He'll be docked wages, perfectly normal.

Ralf didn't want him in the squad earlier and made that clear in regards to Martial wanting to leave, which is fair enough by all means, but it can hardly be much of a shock that Martial sees no point when he's suddenly included in a squad where we have two goalkeepers on the bench of 8.

People want him to make a push for the door, and here it is. Hopefully we can sod him off on loan and hopefully get rid during the summer for a decent fee.

Martial could have been such a superstar. His debut season was one of the most exhilarating I've ever seen from a teenager. And his performances after football returned post lockdown were very encouraging.

I think he was poorly coached like every other young forward we had. Mourinho is noted for being a manager who thinks the forwards should sort things out themselves and Solksjaer was similar. So it's not his fault he always looked like a player caught between two stools of being a wide forward or a striker.

But his attitude is potentially the worst I've ever seen from a United player. I mentioned his post lockdown performances earlier. He played extremely well then and was putting a good foot forward for the next season. But he got injured and missed months of games. When he returned he was shit, kept playing shit and was jettisoned. Nobody's fault but his own. And the fact that he now wants to leave because of that is all on him.

You know the end is nigh when Raven isn’t here defending him :wenger:

Yeah that attitude is abysmal. Just because you pretty much hand in your notice doesn’t mean you get licence to be insubordinate while you’re still in the role. Jose was right about him in the long run.

Remember the good old days when Martial and Rashford spent all season trying to outscore eachother. I think both got around 20 goals per season?

Today, Martial refused to travel and Rashford was dropped from the squad.

Martial can go straight to hell.

Disgusting attitude. Never want to see him feature for us ever again.

Im sure all our bosses would be delighted if we all decided we didnt want to show up Monday but still expect to be paid for it. Disgusting.

Genuinely didn’t think he had this in him, very disappointed, I’ve spent ages defending his character on here but looks like I’ve been proven wrong.

Why are people so obsessed about this notion? He's likely to be fined quite a lot, wouldn't be surprised if it's two weeks wages.

You can make a push for the door and still be professional and fulfill your obligations when called upon, like he was in this game. The two don't have to be mutually exclusive.

He's played his last game for the club. Absolutely delighted. Martial FC fans please follow him.

Rashford might be in absolutely woeful form but he's no coward like this cretin. Rashford will carry on fighting and get his form back eventually. Guaranteed.

Jose's long shown he has no idea how to coach a top football club anymore. Martial was the one who kept him in the job longer than he should have been. I've supported Martial in the past, that ended last season after he (once again) couldn't follow up a good season without having a bad one, but Jose has been as wrong about him as he's been about a lot of things at this club. Nothing about this validates him.

Oh wow! Gee! Two whole weeks!?!?!? That changes everything, now he’ll have to wait two weeks before his six-figure a week salary starts up again!

that "golden french generation" really seems to have been much more trouble than the juice received, overall.
so many lesser known french talents giving 5x the production at 95% less name value.

A £400K a week player signed to stop City signing him, a £290K a week player running down his contract whilst recovering from 'injury' in Dubai, a £200K a week player who's more of a charity worker than footballer, and now a £200K a week prick who's refusing to play games.

The lack of leadership at board level is utterly disgraceful and the reason why are stuck in this mess. The tail is wagging the dog. The club's out of control.

That's an incredibly dumb move since it gives the club a lot more rights when it comes to terminations or sanctions. And the club should definitely sanction him.

There is no way we’d try to terminate the contract, but he’s def being sanctioned

We won't because selling him is a better option but the point is that this move took all the leverage he may have, his contract at its current value is in the hands of the club. They can do whatever they want with him.

As long as you train and don't refuse to play, as a player you don't really have to be engaged and the club won't have much power to remove you. Now if you refuse to train or play, the club can legally remove you from the professional team, they can put your wage on retainer and you have no way to contest it strongly.

This is going to be a costly mistake in Martial career and clubs would see this as a red flag.

We should see if there is any clause to terminate his contract or make him play for the rest of the season.

Ralf should do the right thing and ask those who wants to leave, its over for them.

Offload - Martial, Pogba, Cavani, Henderson, Lingard

Sign a Midfielder and put some reserve players, at least we can build a team for next season

I’m not believing any of this unless he gets fined. Martial loves the club more than anything I’m sure of it.

No excuses for Martial but then again I am not surprised.

Our dressing room must be toxic when you think we have Pogba who has been dicking us around for over two seasons, Martial, DVB who must surely want to leave, Henderson, Lingard. When you have so many players wanting to leave it must have an affect on others

But it's not a case of Bogarde, so doubt he cares about the first bit.

In terms of the second bit, he's not the first or last player to refuse to be in the squad, consequences are never anywhere near that big. Di Maria refused to participate in our pre-season to force a move, we initially fined him two weeks wages.

Di Maria was a sought after player, one year removed from being the best player in a CL winning campaign. Martial is an expensive player that has been out of form for about 18 months. I would be very surprised if he gets a similar contract somewhere else.
