Still didn't take a player on the outside when we were crying for someone to grab the game and he had a couple of chances for it, but at least he put some structure in the team and rotated possession.

Was quite inefficient to be frank, but miles ahead of Rashford.

Remember the days when Nani and Valencia might swap flanks mid game. Now we are so rigid, we can't do anything. Antony has to play on the RW and nobody else. Let Rashford try reclaim his LW coveted one trick pony spot from the bench.

Last two games have shown why he starts so often. Having a wide player who is able to hold onto the ball under pressure, find teammates with his passes and help his fullback defensively makes a huge difference when the alternative are players who don’t do any of the above. And that makes him a player who has to start when available, despite his lack of end product. Admittedly a low bar but that’s what we’re working with here.

This is true. A combination of Rashford and Garnacho is incredibly one dimensional, both are head down, tunnel vision merchants, they don't help you hold possession, or control the tempo of a game, doubles down on the midfield issues. Throw in Hojlund and you have another player who offers little in general play, balance of the team is not good to put it mildly.

This is were Sancho being such a colossal disappointment hits hard, he was supposed to the well rounded wide player who could contribute playmaking and penetration.

This is sadly the unsexy truth about where we are right now and why it baffles me when people put forward alternatives who don't do the above.

Thought he was our best player vs Galatasaray and played well off the bench vs Newcastle. Has to start vs Chelsea.

He has played well in the few recent appearances. His passing has been better and he seems to play simple lately instead of trying to do to much. His work rate can never be in question, now to find some kind of end product.

His attitude, workrate and determination have not been questioned , he is not lacking those attributes.

But he needs to deliver more on quality , a winger that can't/won't take on his man , scores little and assists less is not worth much in the Premier league.

He quality needs to improve, and that is not an easy fix no matter how hard you are trying.

He has never been a player that scores a lot of goals, even at Ajax he rarely reached double figures and its made hard for him to get assists when the players he is meant to be assisting are hardly ever in the right places.

When we have a squad full of players who work just as hard as him, then he might move higher up the list of issues we need to fix because the quality lacks. But at base level he has more than many others right now.

I’d take him above Rashford all day every day. Actually gives a shit for one.

I think he'll be more effective if our whole squad moves to his effort levels. You can't tell me anyone thought Almiron would be as effective as he has been for Newcastle without the whole team working hard.

Not perfect but Christ was there some difference in effort between him today and Rashford at RW in the previous game.

He really just locks down balls out from the back - was good today, can't deny he brings so much balance and made a lovely pass for McT was very unlucky not to score with that Silva block. A few good games in a row, just needs to keep making simple good choices.

Very good. Hopefully he can nail down that place on the right for the rest of the season.

He played another decent game. He really should start on the right wing. He is the only real right winger.

Its ridiculous to see some people in the live threads talking about Antony (or more general on this site). When he does something well or makes the right choice he 'looks like a footballer' but the moment he doesnt make the perfect choice he is the worst ever Manchester United and of championship level. Some people really seem to hate Antony... and for what? Because he did some weird spins at the pitch once and Paul Scholes didnt like it?

He was way too expensive but he is still a young player who is learning and improving. He has strenghts but he also has weaknesses. He is a decent player with the potential to still improve.

Oh and its not his fault he doesnt have any assists. He cant help that his teammates miss the chances he provides.

Very good first half, tailed off a bit 2nd, but as Ive said before - you can think we need a new right winger, and also see that we are a better side with him on the right.

Thought he was excellent. Ran his socks off and contributed heavily to our attacking play.

HELLO
Looked like a completely different player. He almost got into handbags with the Chelsea player and immediately calmed down. Good to see.

A lot of the players goign up to him after the match when he was on the floor, Scotty namechecking him in the post match interview, he must be doing something right for the team as a whole. Personally I think he made a massive difference tonight.

Should have had an assist today for Mctominay. Good performance from him. Our other attackers need to look at his/Garnacho's work rate and feel some shame.

He put a shift in this evening. At least he does that. Good things will happen eventually.... hopefully.

He put in a good shift and played well, still not doing what we need from him, but at least he wasn't crap.

His effort today was needed because Dalot tucked in a lot to bolster midfield. Wouldn't have been possible without Antony putting in a shift. Attacking wise I think he is quite good, as long as he isn't too close to goal where I find his decision making pretty bad. But certainly should play for now. Isn't offering less than the 2023 edition of Rashford and his workrate is helping the team.
