Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Justified season 4 just started 2 days back. I really think this show is even better than Breaking Bad.

Olyphant and Shane from Sheild

it is good I hadn't watched it at all until a few months ago and watched all 3 seasons in a few weeks. Cheers for the heads up will download that episode now while I am doing the latest elementary.

But I prefer Breaking Bad

Has anyone said Trailer Park Boys? No? Trailer Park Boys.

I never finished watching TPB, but its a good show. It stopped playing after about season 3 on my hard drive.

It's hard to get into for the first few episodes and it all seems quite shit and badly made, but it is funny.

Good times!

I've just finished watching a good show called Lillyhammer.

It stars Steven Van Zandt (Silvio from Sopranos), who plays the role of a mobster who testifies against a mob boss and has to go into witness protection and relocate to Lillehammer in Norway. The series follows his life there and his struggles to adapt.

There's only been one series, with 8 episodes, so give it a go. He basically plays almost the exact same character as Silvio, so if you liked him in Sopranos, you'll like his character here.

Think I have mentioned this before but anyone on Netflix should watch 'Brotherhood' and ' The Black Donnelly's' two great shows I hadn't heard of before watching, about the Irish/American crime in the US.

What is that about?

@RNilson - Haven't seen twin peaks either. And, Brwned i think that's a bit too far back for my liking. I do like old cinema though.

Anyone watch Boardwalk Empire?

Basically a buddy cop show but instead of cops, private investigators. It's funny, highly rated, and it was cancelled after one season. It is on Netflix in the US.

I've been advised to watch Spiral. French I believe. Anyone seen it?

what is a GOAT Show?

Is Person of interest any good ?

I started watching that. It's alright, well actually it's not, it's a bit shite but I still watched it. The main actor is as wooden as you can get. He's like something out of an 80's porn movie. It's one of those shows that I'll watch because I've recorded it but I'll not choose it over something else which I've recorded or worry too much if I've missed one.

Getting the whole 'just one more episode' thing with The Shield now. :D Just finished season 3 and that was class!

The last scene was amazing! Never thought an argument like that could be so intense. This whole season has shaped it all up wonderfully for the next 2 at least, in fact. Dutch....sheeeiiit.

I don't know what it is about The Shield. It hasn't got that special uniqueness that Breaking Bad has or as cool a premise as Dexter, nor has it got the acting of The Sopranos or the constant state of awe you get with The Wire...but it's just got something very right. Vic is definitely some sort of Jack Bauer/Tony Soprano hybrid. Said it before but the similarity between him and Jack Bauer in terms of their mannerisms is uncanny.

It is very watchable, watched 5 seasons of it in just a couple of weeks. Thought Forest Whitaker was very indulgent in his role and didn't like his character at all but other than that I didn't have too many complaints.

Didn't like how they dragged out Aceveda's role for so long and they've threatened to write off various characters before finding convenient ways to bring them back in. Plus stuff like Julian's sexuality go from being a big issue to completely forgotten about within just a year.

Good fun but can't get past the bad acting.

I've watched three episode of The Shield (some of you may have noticed I'm looking for a new show to get into). Is it a different story each time? There hasn't seemed like much tying the episodes together.

Ahh sorry, can't afford to click on the spoiler just in case! ;)

I think I'm ok with the acting. Think it's at a similar sort of level to Dexter's (better overall acting, fewer outstanding Trinity/Dexter-type performances), so that's fine for me.

It gets there VeevaVee. Doesn't seem like it at the start but the story does take shape. It's not really like a lot of series whereby it's quite clear from the start where it's going to go, with an obvious progression of one plot towards an expected climax. A lot of episodes somewhat set the scene for events later on in the series, but there are definitely good plots in each series. At the point I'm up to, it seems inevitable that some pretty massive shit is about to kick off and I can't wait to see how it happens.

It's funny, I say that about the acting there but there has been a distinct shift this season (4) towards the more dramatic end of the scale.

It is both tbh, there is a general story that kicked off in the episode 1 of the season 1 and it keeps on going up until the very last episode of the show.At the same time each episode brings its new story

Well it's not exactly the Wire.....but then again, it's hardly a CSI either. I don't recall there being many filler episodes that are worthless to overriding arc of the season/series. Of course there are some episodes that can be dropped. It's basically just your normal cop out, new cases but with an overriding story.

On the last series of the Shield but I've lost interest entirely because it's just the same themes being revisited over and over again in largely the same way. Thought it peaked with the multi-episode season 1 finale.

Fringe,

It just ended, it's kind of a quirkier x-files, I found it excellent.

I stopped watching it in November, but need to catch up on the last few episodes.

I thought it started out really well but the last couple of seasons have been poor. The think it peaked at the end of season 2.

With all of the crazy parallel universe stuff and Olivia being trappe on the other side with the Faux Olivia impersonating her.

Claudette from The Shield made me proper uneasy for some reason.
I finally realised why....

Terriers.

Terriers had some great lines and enjoyable chemistry between the unlikely leads. That was a disappointment to see it cancelled, especially after just 1 season, but this happens quite a bit in Hollywood.

Justified has too much violence in general for me but I continue to be hooked on the dialogue that has been consistent in each season. Olyphant is superb in it
