Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

We started Blue Lights on iPlayer yesterday, 2 episodes in and it' is great so far. Properly gripping and tense, especially as pretty much everybody aware of Northern Ireland troubles but maybe not so much modern day situations and attitude towards police.

I'm watching season one of Welcome To Wrexham and whilst I'm enjoying the behind the scenes look at reviving a club, a decent chunk of their fans they have as regulars throughout the first 10 episodes seem like absolute cretins.

I know football attracts the lowest common denominator but my word some these arseholes just come across as awful people.

Particularly cant stand Shaun and Jonny.

I thought the first episode was good, Adrien Brody and Ben Bratt were good co-stars, but as of episode 2 it becomes clear it's set up to be basically like the old The Incredible Hulk (or the A-Team) where the main character just drifts from town to town sorting out local problems. Episode 1 was good. Episode 2 made me wonder if somehow autoplay had switched what series I was trying to watch. Episode 2 has 3 new characters in it and Natasha doesn't even appear for about the first 30 minutes. These new characters do not have the screen presence of Adrien Brody, to say the least. Like a gambler, I feel like my investment is currently "down" and thinking watching more would be continuing a cold streak.

Oh completely. “Can you play this part like you’re drunk, have to take a massive shit, didn’t sleep last night, and you’re trying to channel Columbo?” She’s the same character in Russian Doll. Her costar in that one made it watchable. This, nope.

@Cheimoon This article in NY Times today focuses on shows being “faithful” to the source material (https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/01/arts/television/movie-tv-book-adaptations.html) which can be applied to true stories.

In the end, adaptation isn’t a marriage. At best, it’s an open relationship. Faithfulness is a great quality in real life, but when it comes to fiction, betrayal inevitably makes a better story.

We binged Beef over the weekend, I thought it was very good in places and I didn't ever really see where it was going which made me want to watch the next episode the whole time, the dialogue and acting in it were great, really solid show one of the best I've watched this year.

I might stretch to a 9 for the first season but think 2nd season was an unremarkable 8 maybe dipping to 7. 3rd season is quite weak, its not terrible but i'd go in with low expectations.

Watched the last 4 eps last night and agree with you, the last few eps, elevated it to above Mando.
The Madolorian 8.5/10 Andor even with the first 2 eps a bit heavy going, 9.5/10

Haven't seen it but looks like the British version of the great Swedish series Tunna Blå Linjen (thin blue line). If you ever come across I highly recommend it.

I wasn't sure how realistic it was in term of certain areas being no go for officers but I'm not from Northern Ireland. The show was great nonetheless

Finally found Mr. Inbetween on Hulu & cannot put it down. Blew through the first season (sucks that there were only six episodes) & am diving headlong into the second. Thankfully the second & third seasons are both much longer.
