Started against Villa and didn't do muchIf we hadn't of signed Ronaldo, Cavani would have been our starter most games as no9. Top top player.

Have we not yet learnt the lesson you cant judge anyone from 1 gameStarted against Villa and didn't do much
Wolves, Burnley.....Have we not yet learnt the lesson you cant judge anyone from 1 game
Completely agree.Respect is earned, not something you automatically get because you play for the club. Where is this bloke? Always injured, on international duty or getting time off. Time off for what exactly? We're in February and guy has played 668 minutes (equivalent of 7 games) for us this season. Good riddance when he leaves in the summer. For god's sake please sign some hungry and dedicated players who put the club first.
Completely agree with this, sadly Alvarez was twerking for us in the media last window and we turned him down. He could have been the hungry, dedicated striker we need, he's going City now and the rest will surely be history. Even more gutting when you consider that Greenwood was the most legitimate reason not to go for him. What a very Manchester United sequence of events.Respect is earned, not something you automatically get because you play for the club. Where is this bloke? Agreed. Hugely likeable personality but he's too old now.Completely agree.
The difference in treatment between Martial and Cavani is ridiculous. One is booed when he comes on and the other is treated as a hero even though he's been no more effective.
Over a season and a half at OT and he's scored what, 12 goals?
But hey, he's good-looking and looks like he's trying really hard, so great.
Yeah, situation changed so quickly. Possibly we'll have zero strikers come July/August.Two months ago we had 4 strikers.
Since then, one was loaned out because we had too many, one is out facing jail, and the two others started showing age, turning into old people unable to play.
Life sure is ironic
The goal wouldn't have stood since he was offside, but he didn't know that and absolutely should have scored.Should have scored, maybe thought it was a goal before he got it. The look of disbelief on his face when Pope made that save shows that he never even expected him to come across.
AC Milan? Bayern Munich?I mean, he was about to enjoy his retirement in South American football when he left PSG before we signed him on a short team deal.
It's not his fault this club has no foresight in long term planning. Which top team in Europe relies on two striker's in their mid-30's??
Well I'm convinced, let's keep Ronaldo and Cavani for another year!AC Milan? Bayern Munich?
There's nothing wrong with having a world-class striker at the end of their career, in the squad - as long as you are growing a young striker, future superstar as they understudy, alongside them. His best attributes were always his movement and workrate. His finishing was good not great and his link up play and dribbling were servicable. With his legs gone he really does not provide much for us and in my opinion in his current state is not really a top half of the league striker. Which is fine for his age but he should not be playing for us.
When you think that we have had Ronaldo, Cavani and Igahlo at their ages here....it just adds to the questions we should ask about future planning. This team is crying out for a mobile hard working striker who is as good at scoring as linking play.
You've either not put much thought into this post, or have the loosest every definition of "most".If we hadn't of signed Ronaldo, Cavani would have been our starter most games as no9. Top top player.
Ffs from which angleCompletely agree.

More than 6 tbh if the intent is to improve.Cavani was only ever any use off the bench for us. Thoroughly overrated and overappreciated.
Our clubs problem is how insistent we are in keeping players that are of not much use to us.
I suspect it's because we are incapable of more that 3-4 signings in a summer.
What we gonna do for next season.
Pogba Greenwood Cavani Mata Matic Martial Lingard and potentially Ronaldo gone.
We will have no squad at all.
And our first 11 will have taken a big hit too.
We will need to sign like 6 top top players which is impossible for us.
Agreed really. We are really non an impossible situation. Think so many are burying their heads in the sand when it comes to this.More than 6 tbh if the intent is to improve.
Honestly, if we do it well it is exactly what we needed. Our squad is simply too big with too many players who either aren't good enough or aren't reliable enough. We desperately need a clean-out.What we gonna do for next season.

I'd agree but we won't do it. We do things in half measuresHonestly, if we do it well it is exactly what we needed. Our squad is simply too big with too many players who either aren't good enough or aren't reliable enough. We desperately need a clean-out.
Of the ones you mention, Mata is basically no use at all anymore. Lingard and Matic not much better. Pogba and Martial are talented but it simply hasn't worked out, partly because neither of them have the work-ethic and consistency. Other than a period towards the end of last season, Cavani has been extremely unreliable in both availability and performance level. Ronaldo will only look to leave if we don't make the CL, and I feel that the only way we miss out on the CL is if Ronaldo continues looking like he's at coming to the end, in which case we need him to leave anyway. Hell, the next manager may want a different type of striker anyway. Greenwood is the only one that is a definite loss.
Let them all go, get one or two midfielders, one or two attackers, and then show faith in the youth to start being the squad players with a view for ultimately pushing for a starting spot. We could easily end up with a stronger, hungrier team on lower wages and with more reliability.
Of course, the key is to replace them correctly and that is where the big question marks are. We've proven completely unable to do it correctly over the last 8 years, but we've had a lot of changes over the last year or so. We'll have a new manager, Rangnick acting as an advisor to the board, and new members of the board itself. A clean-out of the players who aren't much use anymore is a good test for them. A worrying test because if they aren't up to it we'll be in a bad position, but fingers crossed.
