Who hasn't it gone down well with? Of Raine/Glazers weren't happy, they could have refused the extensions and continued owning the club, or, accepted the bid of the others who bid.

Not too sure why it hasn't gone down well.

Thats why I suspect the other bidders were financing, ghost or minority stake bidders (at best)

Last Thursday was the first time Raine has opened up the books -- current financial, legal obligations etc and future projections. There will be communication going back & forth between the bidding teams and the folks inside United to clarify things -- and over a weekend.
That's a lot of due diligence to push through and come up with an offer in 7 days.
Should be doable but yeah a lot of work.

I do see your and others points that the other bidders might be minority only. Otherwise this really wouldn't make much sense.

Id imagine that a few things came to light in the accounts that needed working through and fully understanding……when the club is hiked up on multiple loans structures and other, one would assume, complex financial structures, exits from said loans are not always black and white.

Serious bidders would need more than 7 days to fully understand and be comfortable with this and how do we know how quickly questions raised would have been answered thoroughly?

Don’t think any extension in time being given is any concern - probably given by Raine as they couldn’t get all the answers back in time.

Still a bit odd. I'm firmly in the Glazer stay camp now, for shits and giggles and all that.
This is a clear message from INEOS and Qatar that they will not overpay and be held to ransom. They have held back and waited to see what offers are no the table. It is no coincidence that both parties did not bid.

They are related. They wouldn’t get in the CL consistently if they had to compete with 8 other heavy spenders in the league. They have predictable cash flows from CL that makes a huge difference. In the PL, no one has that except Man City and they don’t even need the cash.

It’s sad but this is what it has come to. You need a sugar daddy to compete in the PL consistently over a period of time.
I agree. Also how many weak teams could they play their reserves and win against, resting their better players over a weekend before the midweek Ch Lge game? Our teams, apart from City who have virtually 22 exceptional players anyway, dont hav that luxury. Probably 17/18 teams can beat each other on their day.

This is a lesson that just like the transfer window, the media know very little about what is actually going on and are mostly guessing

The process is ongoing and will not happen fast - even once a bid is accepted it could take months of legals to actually close it

Deals of this size don't happen quickly - it took 18months from Mike Ashley accepting a bid from Saudi Arabia before the deal was actually done. There were some special circumstances there but anything is possible.

This is a good one. How it Jim Ratcliffe a "generational recipient of success on the backs of English Slavery and colonialism"

He grew up in a council house, with a father who was a joiner and a mother who worked in an accounts office.
 I was just about to say the same thing. Well said.

Here’s some wild-eyed speculation/fantasy. Big Jim is still trying to source a better price on his finance/someone to partner up with to bridge the gap. The Qataris have the inside track and aren’t going to put in a bid that might not be the highest, so they backed out and won’t go back in until JR has.

Not very wild i think, when you consider the makeup of team jassim. Big hitters from the financial world in there.

This misunderstanding and counter claiming bollocks is the sort of thing that happens before relations break down and a takeover deal collapses.

I speak on behalf of all of RedCafe when I say this is the beginning of the end and we'll soon get a Glazer statement confirming their intention to stay

Is there a compilation video of all Kaveh Solhekol videos from the last 2 week?
It would be very comical viewing.
The glazers want to sell. The glazers don`t want to sell. Qatar won`t overpay. Qatar will overpay. It`s classified information. I`m being told. The glazers want 6bn. No one knows how much the glazers actually want.

Was reported that jassim asked for an extension after Ratcliffe asked for an extension.
Maybe they don't trust the process within Raine (ie leakage of information) and didn't want to expose themselves by sending the bid in a day before Ratcliffe's?

I think the more romantic option is Sir Jim, alas I feel this is the one most likely to be the worst option. Rarely do these match made in heaven options actually fulfill the promise.

If the extension request initially came from Qatar's side, I imagine it's because they want to outbid the rest of the field.

I somewhat imagine that, were this to indeed be the case, the Glazer's and whoever else is frustrated by the extension might be able to overcome their frustrations fairly quickly.

Do we take it that as Sky are saying Raine have stated that they have received other bids for investment in the club that Ineos and Qatar are the only ones going for a full buy out. If so, less than a week is quite a short time to fully go over the books when such a vast amount of money is required.

Love how there are so many experts on this willing to make huge inferences, yet slag off the journos for knowing nothing.

Your last line sums it up perfectly. MOST of the journalists. To be fair, there's not one journalist, who has been reporting on this takeover, commented that the bid hadn't gone in. Even the likes of Rob Harris got it wrong.

And, just like any transfer, things can change rapidly. There's always moving parts. As a consumer of news, you have to do your part and understand not everything is always gospel.

To say journalists don't have a clue is disingenuous to their craft. Of course, there are some chancers. However, not all of them.
Transfers are highly volatile as it has too many moving parts in it. You have the seller (owner, DOF, manager) , the buyer (owner, DOF, manager) , the player, his agent (or agents) and if he's got a collective type of culture then his family and friends will also have a say in it. This is different. Most journalists agreed that the deadline was tomorrow, they committed themselves that both main players has bided and it turned out that that was false. Its a binary thing. Has the bids gone in or not? They said yes and then they said no.

Glazers just want as long as possible to get the highest bidder. They do not care about selling united to the best people for the club. They just want to squeeze as much money as possible out of this. Wish they would just feck off already and leave this club alone, they have done enough damage.tired of this already.

If your professor tells you that the moon is made of cheese and you go there and it turns out its made of rock then surely you'll start wondering if your professor is an idiot. We're not talking about a mistake in the small print here. Either INEOS and Jassim had placed a bid or they had not. Its a binary thing.
