Knowing there are multi billion dollar offers on the table it's time they feck right off.
In all honesty they've been pictured in Qatar about 10 times in the last 6 months and they have a big offer on the table im hopeful they have what they want.

I was listening to the UWS podcast last night and they had Jim O’Neil on what was saying he’s really not sure where the growth is going to come from in the next decade.
Would I be correct in thinking that even if Avram and Joel are desperate to keep United, and even if they made an offer to their siblings to buy them out, that the other 4 siblings could just outvote them and opt to sell to Qatar/Ineos for more money anyway?
I guarantee there would be just as much outrage if it were a state owned company from there. In fact I'm curious if some of you pro Qatar would be just as enthusiastic of a Chinese state wealth fund came to us for some sportswashing.

That is enough, actually. It is fundamentally wrong for a state to own a football club.
I could go on and list all sorts of reasons why that particular state is less than appealing (basic human rights being trampled on under the letter of the law...and so forth), but it's not necessary in this context. It isn't even relevant.

Yeah, Avram and Joel could maybe do it but it would be a stretch and therefore rates and conditions would be pretty bad. They don't have any significant assets other than the club, so it would almost inevitably mean more financial leverage on the club. It would be financially worse for the club than status quo I think.
That is why I used the word believe, and not know. If they have reason to believe the club will cost more in 10 years, they are staying. And it seems Joel and Avram at least believe so, and it's a matter of convincing the rest... or buying them out. And in addition to that, they will keep taking their dividends and stockpiling their money while keeping the club just relevant enough. They aren't forced to sell, and if they decide it's not worth selling now, then they are not going to sell. It's simple as that.
Only problem with that is they are now going to struggle to service the existing debt in a high interest rate environment, whilst also have to invest in infrastructure and keeping the team competitive. They realise that its the end of the road for them. It makes sense that now would be the ideal time for them to exit their investment.
They don't have the same connections or business gravitas as their late father, which shows as they will struggle to obtain further financing without getting fleeced. Hence there isn't really much choice for them to either sell or look for some sort of investor who will inject capital and STILL allow them to keep control. I'm not talking about Eliott either because they are proposing a loan or financing, not direct investment in the club. You'd be hard pressed to find an investor that would be that stupid to hitch their wagon to these idiot offspring.
At the end of the day, the siblings will be looking at 5B windfall in an unstable economic environment, and it will be very difficult for them to turn it down. Even if joel and avram are reluctant. Those two are just trying to cling on to any form of relevancy and credibility in the global sporting/business world. They have achieved feck all in life and everything has been handed to them on a silver platter by their father. Selling the club would mean they lose any prestige that comes with owning one of the most recognisable brands in the world.
People such as Mourinho, Ibrahimovic, and Ronaldo have said the facilities that United has aren't up to the mark and that our owners don't know how to run the club. The Glazers aren't ready to spend a penny out of their pocket and I don't think ETH can spend 200-300M of the club's money because of the debt. The Glazers are just going to be a hindrance to everything that ETH can achieve with United and they might ruin the club even further than what they have already done. If they remain you can forget about United ever returning to the level at which we were under Fergie.

The Glazers would not hire the Raine group, who advised on the sale of Chelsea, for only financing to remain. If that is what they wanted, they could have done it directly with banks/PE funds. The family wanted a partial or full sale. They only had full sale offers. They must have been advised on what they could get, and what was ahead with the process. They will not suddenly go back to stay when they will most likely get the asking price (close to it).
Also, Joel Glazer, who is most reluctant to sell only owns 14%. If he wanted to buy out his other family members, they would just sell it for more via third-party investments. I don't think Joel will do that as he doesn't have the money (it would be further loans).

They can't afford to run the club for another year, let alone 10 years with their current model, unless ETH performs magic.

So, it is gas, as I said.After further investigation I'm quite happy that my statement was 100% correct. Qatars economy was built on oil. It is now sustained on natural gas. Gas because the primary source of revenue in the 1990s while they'd been getting rich off the back of oil since the 1950s.

I’m calling out the fecking mass hypocrisy of a poster who slagged off City & Liverpool fans and hated everything about state ownership and the fans that supported it.
Yet now is all for it, the second it involves his own club.

There is a lot of noise from journalists about the Glazers staying now to be fair. I’m officially concerned.
Those facilities are the same ones that ETH is working with. They are not state of the art in the City mould but let’s not pretend that they are archaic.
Instead of complaining ETH is getting the right people to do the right jobs and bringing the team together to achieve results. He is managing. Those ‘characters’ you mention all have giant egos in common and when those egos take a hit they look to blame the paintbrush and the paint instead of the the painter.
while I don’t disagree that the glazers are a hinderance to the club in every way long term, and I want them gone as much as the next guy, our lack of success has more to do with how the football side was being run than the lack of investment in any particular area.

Our club has been working with ME investors for years , I’m sure our longest partnership is with Saudis telecoms . Been with them for 18 years.

This discussion is getting further away from the topic now but post like is couldn't be more Western-biased. Those countries you have mentioned have committed more crimes against humanity in their distant and not so distant past than the likes of Qatar could ever dream of.
