Do we want Neymar to go to PSG?

I was thinking about this over the last couple of days.

If Neymar moves to PSG that would likely mean Coutinho moves to Barcelona. As a United fan not only would this weaken a rival team for the top 4 but we can also have a good laugh at the scousers losing their best player.

From a football fan perspective I think it would be a worry. For me it would be the very real sign that the sugar daddies are finally starting to push their way to the top. Many good players have moved to the likes of Chelsea, City and PSG since they were taken over but Neymar is on a different level. He is probably the third best player in the world and with his prime years yet to come. Once Messi and Ronaldo retired he will likely be the best in the world.

Not only this but it would inflate a market that has already gone awol.

Absolutely. Anything which hurts this Barca side is great news. The market will continue to work the same way it always has and people should stop complaining about it.

I dont really care either way to be honest. I think its a ridiculous sum but if they want to spend it on one player fair play.

I do, just because it's something that will have happened. Other than that I really don't care.

Yes, just so Barca and Liverpool get weaker, Barca because I despise them and Liverpool because they're a rival and rawk would be amazing to read afterwards.

I don't give a shit but if it happens, I'd absolutely love a Barca vs PSG KO round in the CL with Barca winning. It'd be brilliant.

Yes we do. Hopefully, he will bring some light on Ligue 1 and with the league trying to sell TV rights overseas, I can hope that a lot of money will follow him and help french clubs keep french players.

In my case, I want him to leave. I think I sympathize with the fans of Barcelona. It seems incredible the blackmail that he has done with the club and I think they can be unconcerned with what they paid and with the promotion they have offered to the player.
I think that with that money and being smart they will get ahead without any problem.
Now, with some malice I would like them to be eliminated in quarters of the champions and in a few months Neymar realizing that money is not everything.

For me no.. because it would be the first time where a true 'Galactico' has left a top elite calibre club with history to go to a plastic club. It is not a good sign for the future of the game. I don't think it's a good move for Neymar either.. I genuinely think if United were playing a more enterprising style of football and say we had Pep as manager... He'd come here and be awesome, it would bring out the best in him.

He will shine at PSG no doubt, but I think he'll realise he's made a mistake when he is'n't playing week in week out at the Nou Camp.

Yes. He's done the dirty on Barca which is fine by me. Barca loses a player they can't replace, Neymar goes to a League I don't give a shit about and they can't win the CL every year. He's a great player but I don't enjoy watching him. Too much diving, cheating, crying for my taste and I would be glad that I'm not watching it as much.

I do. I'm sick of mega teams dominating European football where you have to be a legendary side at the height of your cycle to even make an impression on the CL.
Spread the talent out a bit. These jump on teams where a player can almost guarentee himself top honours by joining the Spanish big two needs to stop for the rest of us to compete.
If the Spanish big two are being priced out of the top players then the rest of us catches up by default.

Not really, I enjoy watching Messi and co. Genuinely enjoy watching world class players/teams play with/against eachother.
Him moving to a nothing oil club in nothing league just for money seems really pathetic all-round.

Who follows Neymar though? It doesn't look as if Barça fans are priming themselves to follow PSG so I'm just wondering what fans he would bring with him? Brazilians?
Curious onlookers don't really bring that much long term.

You just need to create curiosity, the rest can be done by the football.

Dont give a shit to be honest. We arent even close to the top tier these days.

We need to stop needing to play the likes of Fellaini before we worry what other top teams do

Don't really care, but it might create more openings/movement in this rather boring transfer market. Maybe something big will (finally) happen for United as well because of such movements.

No. Don't care.

If he was going to leave, I think I'd rather he went to another big team (not called Real) so we see another great team. The PSG move is a farce and its a shame a talent like him will likely rot in Ligue 1. And we shouldn't give a shite about Coutinho or Liverpool.

Barca fans should be glad they got rid though. The guy is a prat.

Can't say I'm too bothered. Seeing him linking up with Pastore is an exciting prospect, though! For me, they are two of the most entertaining players in the world. Then you have Verratti as well.

Brazilians is just one market and a poor market at that.
Its not as if Barca grew by any great extent when they signed Neymar so Im wondering who he realistically attracts?
I see him becoming every PSG fans favourite player but will casual fans turn over from Madrid / Barca and EPL games when they clash?
From the general opinions Im seeing a lot of "Why the feck is he heading to French football?" rather than any excitement that hes joining PSG

I share op's feelings, but i still hope he's sold, if it means Coutinho moves to Barca.
I have too many Liverpool supporters in my life, i want to see them cry.

Neither of Barca or Real are amongst my most hated teams but I do find them to be the two most arrogant clubs in existence so anything that wounds their pride or brings them down a notch is welcomed by me.

Yeah sure, feck it why not. Bit of monumental business in world football is always exciting. Not only that though, it should be detrimental to Liverpool as that'll finance Barcelona signing Coutinho.

If Neymar stays then, PSG will probably go for Sanchez but he'll leave next season anyway and personally I see Liverpool as a bigger threat so I'm all for this signing.

I wish he was coming to us. Beyond that, I find it hard to really give a feck.

The growth of something(particularly markets) is often linked to its initial size, Barcelona are a huge club, in a huge league. PSG is a big club in a developing league, someone like Neymar will be an asset.

Absolutely. First Neymar going weakens Barca, and may push them to go in for Coutinho which in turn weakens a PL rival. It'd also be good to see Barca lose a key player to knock their arrogance down a bit.

PSG getting Neymar also increases the diversity of talent, and makes them a much stronger contender for the Champions League. The CL only becomes a stronger spectacle in that regard.

Yes and no

Yes because this will bring some excitement to an otherwise boring market and I want to see how Barca will cope without neymar.

No because it will over inflate an already overinflated market. The record has gone from £89 Million to £220 M. It is crazy, just crazy.Dont be surprised even the average players now are worth £80 Million. Also, I don't want to see real madrid dominate la liga. Messi alone cannot help Barca to madrid. Unless barca buys a mbappe I see it tough for barca to match them.

It's not a transfer though and that close isn't exactly new, some players have higher clauses too.

Don't give a shit because Liverpool with or without Coutinho are miles away from a title challenge.

In Europe, in the grand scheme of things it's good for us as it weakens a direct rival, even we're far from being a credible challenger.

Obviously, it really fecks Barca. Ballon D'or challengers don't grow on trees, no matter how much money you have. There is no chance they can replace him, even with 200M.

I expect they will be taken to the cleaners by the clubs they want to buy from. Everyone will know they are desperate and that they have a shitload of money.

If we can't ever get Neymar then it doesn't matter, so long as he doesn't join another PL club (realistically only us or city)

Couldn't give a shit. It makes no difference to us either way.
These sort of posts

You rocked on into the thread, just to bless us with that.

And of course it makes a difference to us unless you have zero foresight whatsoever.

Barcelona lose a star man, and all of a sudden need some sort of replacement. They may look at one of our rivals players. Coutinho has been heavily linked as such a replacement. Liverpool lose him, or even better some sort of drama with Hazard, it destablises a rival, and gives us a bit of help.
