Bit strange some of the takes on here for one main reason.
A lot if people saying he was good/class, that's despite giving the ball away repeatedly.

I bet the same people chastise Bruno every match for the exact same thing!

He looked OK last night, obviously a good player but found it difficult with Fulham's press and will take time to adjust to the style in the premiership.

But he gave the ball away quite a few times last night and in dangerous positions, he will have to get used to being pressed in that manner as every team will do that.

Why is the duration relevant? They have to pay him wages and increase his salary too during that time. And that’s if he proves to be a great player.

Because he can't leave on a free transfer after 4 years, that's why the contract duration is relevant.

He is a complete midfielder? Maybe he's not apex Essien or Keane or Vieira in that they genuinely could be one man midfields on their own, but the game has evolved.

He had more tackles and passes than Mount and Gallagher combined, in both categories. Pigeonholing him as a specialist is misguided - he's good at more or less everything you'd want a midfielder to be good at.

Decent quality little player, not Sabitzer/Casemiro level obviously, but could get there with the right partner, an extraordinary dose of good fortune, and consistent top class coaching in a fair few years with a zero-distractions approach to football in order to eradicate his crippling flaws.

TBF, Fulham's pressing game last night was impressive. Enzo is a fine press-resistant player and dribbler. But he is not at an elite level( like De Jong, Modric, or even Kovacic) in this category. Maybe, I'm sure he will develop his composure with the ball in the future( he is a different type from an elite ball-carrier midfielder).

Yep. There was many things that could be used to take a shot at us last night and people have gone after one of the bright sparks

Nah not really. Pogba got jerked around and played out of position by poor management - how many games was he actually allowed to play in front of a dedicated defensive midfielder in a 3 man midfield the way he always excelled for Juve and France? He kept getting shoehorned into a role as a 6 and it detracted from his game.

Enzo is a bit more flexible tactically than Pogba and it already seems we have a sense of how best to use him, which is encouraging.

If I was praising him to the high heavens then I'd be putting him on a pedestal with those all-time greats. The number of games he's played has very little to do with how complete his skillset is - unless in your post when you claimed he wasn't a complete midfielder you were referring to experience?

Never got this obsession with players have to be proven over x amount of games in x leagues.

That thinking is how we got lumbered with the likes of Lukaku and Torres when basic due diligence would have told us to stay well clear.

Had a decent game. Can instantly tell his class within 5 minutes. Still think he'd be better as a no.8 but unfortunately we sold our only holder in Jorginho and the others (who aren't really holders) are injured. Will probably buy someone in the summer.
