Shocker that we play a lot better when we’ve had rest inbetween games.
Some of the posts in here during the few days between Brighton and West Ham were embarrassing and incredibly naive.Shocker that we play a lot better when we’ve had rest inbetween games.
Did we?Good first season so far. Will be great if he can win the FA Cup. A really really tough feat considering we've played an insane number of games moreso than the opponents.
If we somehow win the FA Cup its an 8/10 season. Right now, i'd give it a 6/10. Rock bottom expectations coming into the season
has helped fan perception but overall, not much different to the other post-Fergie United sides that finished in the top 4. Some really good things and some really bad things. The summer will essentially tell us what he really is about and will make or break his long-term future with the club. He really needs to be brave. The team is still carying a lot of deadwood. Needs to get rid of a lot of that. Then, he needs to trust the younger players more and try to add a lot more control and comfort on the ball to the squad. Once again, next season is a huge season for Manchester United. Just like in 15/16, 18/19, 20/21 and 21/22, expectations are sky high again. Hopefully we are not disappointed this time.
Spot the Liverpool fan who's gutted to be playing on Thursday nights againIf we somehow win the FA Cup its an 8/10 season. Right now, i'd give it a 6/10. Rock bottom expectations coming into the season

She had a lady boner for ETH from the very start.
I thought she was an irritating voiced dipper fan? Actually, she might still be, but she seems to like Ten Hag.She had a lady boner for ETH from the very start.

Yes, we already have. It's part of the reason Europa League sucks especially when you have a run in all the other cup competitions.Did we?
I honestly don't like the premade excuse...
I found it best to avoid this place for a day or 2 after a bad result or if I couldn’t help but have a look avoid certain threads . The worse been the ETH one . You really think playing midweek fixtures every single week for 5 months straight is a “premade excuse”?Did we?

We play the same amount of matches as Man City in EPL and FA.Yes, we already have. It's part of the reason Europa League sucks especially when you have a run in all the other cup competitions.
The fitness issue is being severely underestimated. We've moved to a much more press heavy, physically demanding style. Honestly surprised we survived this far without our season derailing
No but saying we played an insane number of games moreso than the opponents while we only played 3 more is an excuse, and a bad excuse at that since they still have the CL final to play while we can bring 200% to the FA Cup final. You really think playing midweek fixtures every single week for 5 months straight is a “premade excuse”?
This one and the Casemiro thread where people were calling for him to be sold in the summerSome of the posts in here during the few days between Brighton and West Ham were embarrassing and incredibly naive.
Stuff the big teams, it’s the West Ham’s, Palaces, Brightons and Brentford’s of this world we should be beating but our level drops and we lose points against them. We’re good enough to go toe to toe with the top 6 on our day, we should be cake walking the other 13 teams in the league - we need to cut out these stupid results.Beat Fulham and that’s way better that I expected from his first season. 3rd and a cup is great. Beat city and that’s a fantastic first season.
Need to strengthen desperately in the summer so we don’t end up getting pasted away from home against the big teams.
Melissa isI’ve a boner for both
Aaah we have a misunderstanding of my comment to resolve.its kind of loopy phrasing so mu fault there. I am intending to say that the toughest feat for us/ETH in winning the FA Cup is not overcoming City, but rather ourselves and our physical and mental exhaustion. We play the same amount of matches as Man City in EPL and FA.
We play the same amount of matches in Europa League as City in CL, since we got knocked out at QF while they get to the final.
The only competition we play more than them is League Cup, and it's only by 3 matches.
So there is no way we played an insane number of games moreso than the opponents.

Yeah…but playing midweek fixtures every week for 5 months straight is not an excuse. To dismiss this and call it an excuse is plain factually incorrectWe play the same amount of matches as Man City in EPL and FA.

we did, it was the most congested fixture list that we have ever had, possibly of any club.Did we?

City havent had to play midweek fixtures consecutively for almost half the season. The number of games isn’t the problem. We play the same amount of matches as Man City in EPL and FA.

A lot of travel along with added disruption to rhythm from postponed games and typically a Sunday -> Thursday -> Sunday to keep on top of as well. It has been a horrible season from a scheduling perspective.Yeah…but playing midweek fixtures every week for 5 months straight is not an excuse. It also helps when they can field 2 different teams if they feel like itCity havent had to play midweek fixtures consecutively for almost half the season. The number of games isn’t the problem.
Well honestly for me it should be other way around, if there is a match that the player can give 200% while our opponent still have to reverse their power, it's the FA Cup final. It's less about ETH but more about our players and their tendency to downed tool. We needs to play as aggressively as Liverpool during our SAF era, most of the time they gave us a hard game no matter how much stronger we are.Aaah we have a misunderstanding of my comment to resolve.its kind of loopy phrasing so mu fault there. I am intending to say that the toughest feat for us/ETH in winning the FA Cup is not overcoming City, but rather ourselves and our physical and mental exhaustion.
As for playing a lot of games, I still consider that a major issue because this team isn't used to playing that many matches in the style of ETH and we have only had one season to get there physically. It'll take another season at the least to be able to get there. I made a comment elsewhere as comparison that it was easier for Brighton to go from Potter's style to De Zerbi than it was for our players to go from Oles to ETHs.
But the quote that I quoted is not about "playing midweek fixtures every week for 5 months straight" or "schedule issue"? When ETH called out the FA for the poor schedule I defended him.Yeah…but playing midweek fixtures every week for 5 months straight is not an excuse. Well the tiresome moaners were right about one thing. We may indeed not finish in 4th place.
I expected 6th, but predicted 3rd. I figured Ten Hag would overachieve a bit, which he did.Top 4 is the minimum I expected of him this season. To win a trophy alongside that means he has done well. To achieve that under the external circumstances that he has had to deal with, means he has done a fantastic job. No matter what happens in the final, he has earned my trust for next season.
Maybe try enjoying the process instead of being a killjoy? If we somehow win the FA Cup its an 8/10 season. Right now, i'd give it a 6/10. Rock bottom expectations coming into the season
