Delighted for him. Given the mess that he inherited it's been a great first season and that's regardless of what happens in the cup Vs city.
Hopefully we see the back of the Glazers soon and that the sale of the club doesn't impact on the transfer business he wants to carry out. It's going to be a really crucial summer and hopefully we can improve the squad and be in a position to release a number of players who really just don't deserve to be here.
We're definitely on the right track under this guy with massive room for improvement. Really excited to see what he can do now he's firmly settled and established himself.

Last year we finished 6th with 58 points. This season, we’re just one home win against Fulham away from finishing 3rd on 75 points. A 17point improvement, along with a cup win and a second cup final.
This btw is our 2nd highest points total for the whole decade, since SAF’s departure. The best one being Mourinho’s 81-point season in 17/18 when we finished second.

Beat Fulham and that’s way better that I expected from his first season. 3rd and a cup is great. Beat city and that’s a fantastic first season.
Need to strengthen desperately in the summer so we don’t end up getting pasted away from home against the big teams.

Don't agree . He after tonight is currently 10/10 .
As for trusting younger players it's a nice luxury that shouldn't be held against Ten Hag. If he had used them and results were worst the fans would be baying for blood. Every manager knows they are a run of games away for the board pulling the plug. Finally tonight Sancho looked a player i know its only Chelsea but he looked faster and hungry.

Yes, we already have. It's part of the reason Europa League sucks especially when you have a run in all the other cup competitions.
The fitness issue is being severely underestimated. We've moved to a much more press heavy, physically demanding style. Honestly surprised we survived this far without our season derailing
Some hiccups along the way but he’s done a great job in difficult circumstances.
I found it best to avoid this place for a day or 2 after a bad result or if I couldn’t help but have a look avoid certain threads . The worse been the ETH one . Some of the comments on there are embarassing

He has done a fabulous job. This is not football manager game where you take over a mess and then expect to challenge for title. He literally took a team who had zero self belief and then so many games and injuries at wrong time made this a real tough task. People are undermining the job he has done.
Football can defenitely be better but we need to upgrade in certain areas. Replace eriksen with a proper baller, replace martial with a kane or a top striker and with a better performance by sancho or antony we are looking to reach mid 80s points.

He's navigated the season superbly well considering the issues he and the football department have had to face with the owners, Ronaldo and the high volume of games with minimal rest. He's working with the recruitment department and it's about signing players who fit the play style in question which requires control with and without the ball. It doesn't matter where those players are from but rather if those players help with aiding the development of the play style he wants to develop.
He's had to adapt his approach to get us to third and I think that's absolutely superb considering the problems Ronaldo caused aswell the challenge to adapt to certain players who are not suited to his methods.

Didn't have much luck with injuries especially the timing of them. Ridiculous red cards for Casemiro, The Ronaldo saga, hectic fixture schedule with a squad lacking in strength in depth yet won a trophy and finished top 4 in the same season for the first time in decade.

You really think playing midweek fixtures every single week for 5 months straight is a “premade excuse”?
We play the same amount of matches as Man City in EPL and FA.
We play the same amount of matches in Europa League as City in CL, since we got knocked out at QF while they get to the final.
The only competition we play more than them is League Cup, and it's only by 3 matches.
So there is no way we played an insane number of games moreso than the opponents.
No but saying we played an insane number of games moreso than the opponents while we only played 3 more is an excuse, and a bad excuse at that since they still have the CL final to play while we can bring 200% to the FA Cup final.

Stuff the big teams, it’s the West Ham’s, Palaces, Brightons and Brentford’s of this world we should be beating but our level drops and we lose points against them. We’re good enough to go toe to toe with the top 6 on our day, we should be cake walking the other 13 teams in the league - we need to cut out these stupid results.

Aaah we have a misunderstanding of my comment to resolve.its kind of loopy phrasing so mu fault there. I am intending to say that the toughest feat for us/ETH in winning the FA Cup is not overcoming City, but rather ourselves and our physical and mental exhaustion.
As for playing a lot of games, I still consider that a major issue because this team isn't used to playing that many matches in the style of ETH and we have only had one season to get there physically. It'll take another season at the least to be able to get there. I made a comment elsewhere as comparison that it was easier for Brighton to go from Potter's style to De Zerbi than it was for our players to go from Oles to ETHs.
72-75 points is decent for a first season- 75 would be our second highest total (i believe) since Sir Alex left and it's a platform to build on. As others have said, it's better within the context of the ridiculous Ronaldo situation, the opening two defeats, having to bench the club captain, a hectic schedule and two very harsh red cards for Casemiro. Also, having to play most of the season with Ronaldo, Weghorst or Martial as a main striker and having under-performing wingers....all in all it's a job very well done and could be even better if we beat City.

we did, it was the most congested fixture list that we have ever had, possibly of any club.
The winter World Cup had such a massive impact on scheduling and it’s so understated in here, just because ETH got on with his job in a professional way and didn’t make it the focus.
If Jose was still the gaffer you’d have never heard the end of the scheduling issues and half the posters in here would be crying conspiracy.
It really was an unprecedented season and ETH has overachieved in spite of it.
City havent had to play midweek fixtures consecutively for almost half the season. The number of games isn’t the problem.
A lot of travel along with added disruption to rhythm from postponed games and typically a Sunday -> Thursday -> Sunday to keep on top of as well. It has been a horrible season from a scheduling perspective.
It also helps when they can field 2 different teams if they feel like it
Well honestly for me it should be other way around, if there is a match that the player can give 200% while our opponent still have to reverse their power, it's the FA Cup final. It's less about ETH but more about our players and their tendency to downed tool. We needs to play as aggressively as Liverpool during our SAF era, most of the time they gave us a hard game no matter how much stronger we are.

The point is up to the FA final, both team played similar amount of games, and they even have to reverse some strength to play the CL final.

I expected 6th, but predicted 3rd. I figured Ten Hag would overachieve a bit, which he did.
Getting 4th or better was overachieving this season. No one who is somebody predicted us to get into top four.
Maybe try enjoying the process instead of being a killjoy?
