Sorry, but Rashfords stats that first season is nothing close to Haalands stats this season, even though it was good: 11 goals and 2 assists in 1500 minutes in all competitions (including England U21 matches)Didn't Rashford have some crazy stats when he just broke through? He scored on his debut in Europa, in the league, in the FA Cup, for England. Now he can't hit a barn door, and it's clearly not a number 9. Three month stats are too short of a timeframe to make a decision, especially in our case where we need an established guy not another up and coming considering we have Rashford, Martial and Greenwoods in the books.
If we look at the season where he was 19 he was producing like he has been since: 12 goals and 3 assists in 3400 minutes in all competitions (including national teams)
Besides, Rashford has turned out alright though; International for England, big star in Man utd, good player, but not would class. If he failed miserably it would still be a lazy comparison though. There is allways a player you can compare with that fits the point you want to make. It is a bigger risk going for younger players, but that doesn’t mean that they are not ready for the biggest scene. This guy looks like a generational talent, and I have never seen numbers like he’s putting up there before, even though it is still a small sample size. He is literally breaking records every month. He’s scored 6 goals in 196 minutes in CL for Salzburg!!, against Liverpool, Napoli and Genk, in his first CL ever, nobody has done it before.....it’s not 2 goals against Copenhagen playing for Manchester United...
