Damn I thought Norris was absolutely flying. Perez out qualifying Max is strange to see.

Will Red Bull issue team orders? Surely they shouldn't as its so early...

Glad Bottas is out the way so they can't use him to keep the Red Bulls away from Hamilton

Normal service from Hamilton. Bottas nowhere.
Norris and the McLaren looking very menacing. Well done Perez.

Pole 99 for Hamilton. Mental stuff. Perez starting 2nd on softs though, could be massive off the line tomorrow, plus now Red Bull can double up on Hamilton since Bottas made so many mistakes there.

I really really thought Lando had that in the bag there! what a rollercoaster.

lewis showing yet again why he’s the goat. verstappen blew his lap.

It seems setup to be very tight tomorrow.

Wow Lewis. even he cannot believe it.
Its like 2018 again where other(RB/Ferrari) has a better car overall but Lewis cut that advantage out. if RB cant win constructor, they only have themself to blame.

Shocking from Bottas, Carlos and Seb there. It will be interesting to see the Mercedes against two Red Bulls for a change.

Norris, so close! He was showing serious pace today.

Yeah what a performance from him, took complete advantage of Max fecking up. Shows why he's the seven time champion.

First time in god knows how long there's less than .4 seconds between the top five teams in qualifying, if you allow for Norris' little blip.

Norris and Leclerc are right up there and should be aiming for podiums every race.

Norris with a cracking run but time deleted.
He's looking awesome isn't he.,:D Purple sectors in a McLaren showing when he moves up he could well be up there with the best. Hopefully the new Hammy of the future as I think he's faster than Russell anyway if they were in the same car.

Always liked Norris, in the right car he will win races and WC's faster then Russell ? both in title capable cars it would be an interesting head to head.

Norris absolutely destroyed Ric but yet starts behind him, he really was millimetres off as well on his deleted time, the McLaren is quick.

Looks like McLaren and Ferrari can get themselves into the mix as well, or otherwise at least we'll have a great fight between Leclerc, Ricciardo, Norris, and Gasly. This should really be a good season.
This is fun, as there are three levels of government involved. Public Health of the City of Montreal thinks the race should be cancelled, but Public Health of the Province of Quebec would approve the social bubbles proposal put forward by the F1 organization. So those two are currently in talks to figure out what's possible - or who gets to have the final say if they can't agree. But there is also still the federal government, which sets Canada's quarantine rules, and would have to exempt the F1 circus from them in one way or another. There is no news on that at all so far.

The feds are now saying local public health should be trusted to know best, which inches the MTL GP closer to the exit.

How the hell did he get a seat, when there is so much better with no seat, but hey money talks
I think it was clear from Drive to Survive that Haas was close to the exit financially, so I guess they don't even care as long as the money comes in and Schumacher doesn't disappoint as well.

Ide was definitely worse than him, was nearly 3 seconds off his teammate in his first qualifying and only got banned after he rolled another car. Though on his form in the junior formula, Mazepin will likely do the latter as soon as he gets through the first couple of corners.
cheers

I like how all the drivers are so wholesome in F1. You don't see that in most sports, not to this extent.

Is this a recent thing, or has it always been this case?

It has been one of the better sport for , has you put wholesome drivers, but it has had its bad boys, but the last one I can think of is James Hunt, one of the best drivers I have seen, but he loved a drink , a smoke and loved his women. He was a typical playboy and lived life to its fullest.

Really excited about today! All the potential to be a cracker! So happy with Perez at Red Bull now to really challenge and helpout Max Verstappen against Mercedes. Ferrari looks stronger than last year as well. Really hoping Lewis can really be challenged, possibly beaten, this season!

Hard Rock Stadium to play host to the Miami GP from 2022 in a 10-year-deal in hugely significant announcement for F1 and US owners Liberty Media; "We are greatly encouraged by our growing reach in the US which will be further supported by this exciting second race," says Stefano Domenicali.

In a landmark announcement for F1's American owners, Liberty Media, the race in Miami Gardens, Florida will join the calendar on a 10-year deal and become the country's second race on the current schedule after the United States GP in Austin.

The exact time of the season that the Miami race will take place will be announced in due course.

F1 says the circuit will be 5.41km (3.36 miles) in length have 19 corners, three straights and potential for three DRS overtaking zones. Hard Rock Stadium is the home ground of the NFL's Miami Dolphins and 'will sit at the heart of the circuit'.

"We are thrilled to announce that Formula 1 will be racing in Miami beginning in 2022," said F1's president and CEO Stefano Domenicali.

"The US is a key growth market for us, and we are greatly encouraged by our growing reach in the US which will be further supported by this exciting second race.

"We will be working closely with the team from Hard Rock Stadium and the FIA to ensure the circuit delivers sensational racing but also leaves a positive and lasting contribution for the people in the local community."

"We are grateful to our fans, the Miami Gardens elected officials and the local tourism industry for their patience and support throughout this process. We are looking forward to bringing the greatest racing spectacle on the planet to Miami for the first time in our sport's history."

Started to rain now, trying not to get my hopes up for a wet race, which being at Imola could be spectacular.

Just seen the weather myself. This could get tasty!
Wet races are one of the few things to bring a lot of entertainment to the sport.

That being said. I do wanna see some straight out racing between Merc and Red Bull in good conditions

Please keep raining all race, don't just dry up!

Looks tricky on that shot they just showed, puddles but then pretty dry surrounding

What's up with Strolls back tyre looked wrecked inside will they get that fixed?
