Meh. He played the fans right to a tee. He wants money which is fair play to him. But let's not think for a second that he loves the club. That's total crap. If he loves the club he would have extend his contract 2 years ago.

Fans these days, a few puppy smile and a few lines in twitter hook line sinker.
Why should respect for the fans be equivalent to not knowing your worth and acting on it?

I think he will do well at PSG. That club could do with a player of his attitude.

Can't really blame him for going, one of only few players who actually show any heart when wearing the United badge, the reality is United are not going to win any titles anytime soon, the club is in a state top to bottom, the money men in charge of United do not care and will not care about United unless they start losing a lot of money.

Herrera is 29 years old,he might have what another good 2 or 3 years left in him,in that time,i will be very suprised with the state of thing's at the moment here,if United win anything significant in that time, yes the french league is not that special, but at least he will have titles to his name,at least he will be more likely to win something with them, compared to what the future looks to hold at United.

Outgrew us in the end.

Best of luck to him.
Outgrew us?! He was never the first few names on the teamsheet, he just wanted one last colossal pay day, and unlike us, we didn't bow to it!

He was a good lad, a decent player, but not a gamechanger in any way.

Its amazing to see some of the mental acrobatics in here considering how this place feels about rooneys "outrageous" contract demands (despite the absolute chasm in quality between the two players).

Its also funny that rooney questioned the boards ambition at thr time of those incidents, and now the same boards ambition is being questioned by 99% of the clubs fans.

Ander was a good player who spoke well, but ultimately chose money, arguably rightly. Hes guaranteed a league title there too. Congrats in advance.

So from what I understand, he was offered a contract last year and rejected it. He has been in bed with PSG most of the season and probably agreed to join them ages ago. He now rejected another contract offered by United.

His PR team have played a blinder with this one if he is still being held in any sort of positive light.

The fact that Herrera is rated so high just shows how low we have fallen.

He was never an automatic starter, he had long patches when he was just a squad player. He has never been a worldclass player, yes he does play with intensity and runs his socks off. But that should be the bare minimum if you play at a club like this. The fact that he is workshipped so much for his hard work says more about the other team players that himself.

Glad to see him go.

Had way too many weaknesses to his game that was hidden by his effort for running after everyone when he or someone else would lose the ball.

A new era.
Aye. If we are ever going to return to greatness and compete for the CL again we need to look at the finalists blueprint for success. You'd never see Liverpool or Spurs deploy that sort of...

Replace him with Gueye (last year of his contract ) or Doucoure who will be happy to sit on bench . That's exactly what Herrera should have been for us.

Bring in young options who can support Pogba.

He was good enough to have faith shown in him. I don't think he had any manager show faith in him. Competition is important but feeling wanted and at the centre of things is also crucial. There have been plenty of players who have been messed about with. Mata is another one, he'll be off too. Can't blame him.

That's 2 of maybe 4,5 balls we had inside our dressing room gone, great job by the club.

Couldn't make it all the way through but it's a bit weird seeing a video like that for a player like Herrera on the club's official channel.

He's had some very good spells but the fact a player of his quality leaving can legitimately be spun as a big blow for us is pretty depressing.

I'm not certain Pogba will be here for anyone to support next season.

He has only ever played more than 30 league games for us once. That's a sqaud player right there, don't care what anyone says. Especially for someone who wasn't injury prone

Can only laugh at mediocre and squad player posts. It will be a classic you don't know what you had until you lose it sort of thing.

He isn't that good. Plenty of younger more talented mids out there that isn't asking for 200K we can replace him by.

We used to plug holes in our XI with players from very good teams that weren't serious contender for the league or in Europe. PSG are trying to plug their Rabiot sized and uh, emotional/mental hole with Herrera as we're back in that 2nd tier for now.

We'll be worse the next 2 years than we'd be with him but his wages could pay for a good midfielder 5-7 years younger brought in.

Bit of a blow for Ole trying to turn the team into one that works hard and moves the ball well since Herrera is our only player that consistently does both those things apart from Lindelof (and sort of Lingard though he should not be in our core 16 or so players),

Not in wages, but in fee. Good luck in getting a young and talented midfielder in for under 40-50m. Also with that fee, he wont demand 50k wages, but more like 150k. And then said player also needs to klick, looking at Fred is the best example. Mid 20's midfielder bought for 50m, CL experience and Brazil international who is on 150k a week wages and has disappointed so far and had a worse season than Herrera, by far.

I fear for fans who think we’re going spend spend spend in the summer. The writing is on the wall - money was spent, wasted and now come the cuts.

What remains has already been a horror show and the new prospects (aka James) will take at least two seasons to mature.

We’re in a mess and saying goodbye to Ander might in the long term prove to be a big mistake like so many since Fergie retired.

It's not just about if he's good, I like he always gave his all unlike 90 percent of the team. Not to mention the dross we are keeping.
I'm really, really interested which young talented cm we'll bring. Not to mention there wasn't need to buy another CM on top the one we needed to buy before all this mess. Huge incompetence by the club.

Is it even confirmed he wanted 200k?

He doesn't have to agree anything we offer him and that doesn't change the fact that when he was on the pitch he gave his all.

His PR havent done anything, most of what people like about him are to do with how intense he is on the pitch.

There were 3 players in our whole team who run and press. Lingard, Rashford and Him. Now he is gone, Lingard isnt good enough to start, we only have Rashford....

As if those people don't realize how mediocre our club is to the point where we cannot act all high and mighty when a player like Herrera leaves us, this is a blow.
