Spot on.He's in the conversation as the EPL's greatest striker. If he was playing for one of the historic clubs, there won't be any argument.
Kane seems to get more coverage than Aguero, it's beyond me that. Not enough mention of Rooney in this thread.
But yeah Aguero is up there. And it seems he doesn't get the coverage he deserves.
No they won't. How many top goal scorer of the year awards has he won? How many player of the year has he won? What does he do outside of goalscoring? It's because he's playing for City, a team nobody really cares about.
If Augero had that record playing for Utd or Arsenal or Liverpool I think he'd be seen as the best.
Probably because Kane scores more goals and plays for a 'worse' team. Plus he's English.Kane seems to get more coverage than Aguero, it's beyond me that.
He's an incredible, incredible striker. Him not getting player of the year awards is the whole point of the thread. No they won't. How many top goal scorer of the year awards has he won? How many player of the year has he won? What does he do outside of goalscoring?
Henry was more than a striker. FFS he has the assist record in the EPL! There is no comparison. Better finisher, better team player, more intelligent, faster.
There is a reason no elite side really tried hard for him.
Yes, that and the fact that he misses close to 10 league games a season. He'll still surpass Henry's tally. He's in the conversation as the EPL's greatest striker. If he was playing for one of the historic clubs, there won't be any argument.
He's class and definitely one of the best strikers in the PL era, but plays for an insignificant club, so nobody will remember or care in ten years.
Henry didn't start off as a striker...Henry's best goal scoring season trumps anything Aguero has done in his career. Not only that, Henry has the record for most assists in a season. Aguero is not on his level. Hell Suarez before he left for Barca performed at a higher level than Aguero. There is a reason no top side even made a play for him.Yes, that and the fact that he misses close to 10 league games a season. He'll still surpass Henry's tally.
This is just nonsense, he's set to surpass Henry's goal to appearances ratio at this rate with significantly less appearances. No-one went for him because he probably wouldn't leave City, nor would they be willing to sell him unless he really wanted out. Do agree with the start bit and Suarez performing at a higher level, but this idea that he was so bad that a top side didn't bid for him is flawedHenry didn't start off as a striker...Henry's best goal scoring season trumps anything Aguero has done in his career. Hernry yes, Suarez no. Suarez time in England yielded a far worse minutes per goal ratio than Sergio's. Funny enough despite what you posted Sergio was Barca's first choice over Suarez but they were turned down flat.Henry didn't start off as a striker...Henry's best goal scoring season trumps anything Aguero has done in his career. Surely you’re on a WUM? It’s well documented both Barca and Madrid have wanted Aguero for years but the deal impossible to do due to his loyalty to City and the club not wishing to sell at any price.Henry didn't start off as a striker...Henry's best goal scoring season trumps anything Aguero has done in his career. Hard to agree, he's much more technically gifted than Fowler, who had a very short career at the end. He's closer to Shearer because they both are excellent in finding the net + they have his mental strength to always try, they are both very tenacious. I rate Shearer as one of the best English forwards of all time, someone you can trust with goals once you set him up against the keeper. For me, Aguero is a similar kind of players, you can trust him. Fowler, I would be less keen to trust if I was one of his team mates.I think aguero is more fowler than shearer, whose candle burned longer.
Talent to be the best one around but for various reasons, injuries topping the list, never ends up putting it all together to really be the player he can be and shows himself to be on occasion.
Better player than fowler at the end of the day obviously, but by way of analogy.
Suarez is superior though. His peak is of an all time great CF. I mean he actually outscored Messi and Ronaldo one season if I'm not mistaken. Aguero is a level below him and Herry, for me.Hernry yes, Suarez no. Suarez time in England yielded a far worse minutes per goal ratio than Sergio's. Funny enough despite what you posted Sergio was Barca's first choice over Suarez but they were turned down flat.
Zubizarreta told Marca: "We had some options. The first was not Suarez. He knows it. In winter we considered the signing of Aguero. That did not work out.
"In this situation, there was no doubt: Luis Suarez was our only goal."

Goals against the top six
Aguero 42
Kane 21
Rooney 20
Rvp 18
Thats a crazy record, most of them against united if am not wrong. He is definitely up there with the best.
Kinda meaningless stat without number of games though.Goals against the top six
Aguero 42
Kane 21
Rooney 20
Rvp 18

Yeah, also meaningless as current top 6 was not always top 6. There was no fixed top 4 or 6.Kinda meaningless stat without number of games though.
, probably swearing on his child's life again. He'll have someone else's say too.
Plot twist. Eriksen wanted the assist so he made Kane claim it., probably swearing on his child's life again.
Yeah that too.Yeah, also meaningless as current top 6 was not always top 6. There was no fixed top 4 or 6.
