Wait, dear friend, wait. Perhaps till the time he retires, it's never too soon to heap praise on Indian pacers.
:D True. Though, I just can't help myself at the sight of an Indian bowling yorkers at will in the death overs.

Calling it poor is an understatement. It was criminal that Ashwin didn't get his full quota on that pitch. Raina allowed only one over, in which he gave only 4 runs and took one wicket, was equally stupid.

One thing I would disagree with, Bumrah is not bang average. He will be a very good weapon for us in limited over formats.
Doesn't matter how good he will be later on. At the moment, there's no way he should be bowling as much as he did on a rank turner while our spinners sit around watching them get tonked

No disagreements there.

I have heard that before; it was Aaquib Javed who said the same. Is there a particular reason for it?

It'll be a shame if that's what happens.

No idea but it looked ropey to me. He uses his whole arm and not much else. Imagine the stress his joints are being put under. What did AJ say?

feck those Ganguly supporters. Bunch of idiots. I have never seen a batsman with lesser footwork than fecking Ganguly. My God he was terrible to watch. He looked like he could get out any delivery. The words elegant and Ganguly should never be in the same sentence.
What the feck is this shite? Ganguly terrible to watch? I think he's a tad overrated in ODI's (and slightly underrated in tests) but he was a good player to watch when he was in full flow and quite elegant with those cover drives. I'd hate to know what you think of Dhoni if you think Ganguly wasn't elegant.

“Bumrah’s action is his main problem. During loading, this kind of action puts enormous strain on the back. This is an injury-prone action. With this kind of action, I don’t see him playing 10 years of injury-free international cricket. I may be wrong as I am not an astrologer but that’s how I feel,” Aaqib said.

Ahh so he thinks Bumrah's back going to cause issues.

Afridi is such a poor, poor captain.
It was a pathetic display. Firstly the inability to read the pitch. Rob Key had a look at the pitch an hour before the toss and said that it is dry as hell and will turn square. Key has played a lot of cricket especially as captain so odds were he knew what he was talking about. So why couldn't Afridi or his management see it? Afridi has been playing cricket since the 80s. Reading pitches should come naturally to him.

Secondly why on earth go with FOUR seamers on a subcontinent pitch anyway? Was it grass on it? Was it going to swing and seam? Uneven bounce? No. There was nothing to suggest any of that.

Thirdly did they even watch Ind-NZ the other day? Spinners took all the first 9 wickets. Santner was MOTM. You've got your own version of Santner in Imad Wasim, who I believe is the better bowler of the two, so why leave him out of this game? It's the same ground where Imad took 4 wickets on Monday vs SL (good players of spin historically). Even if you didn't believe it will turn much, why leave out a spinner who is in good form and probably would have caused some havoc vs a team obviously struggling against left-arm spinners? Add to that Imad's T20I economy is marginally above 6 so it's not like he would have been smashed around the park either.

Going into a match with Afridi and Malik as the only spin options is criminal. Afridi was past his prime after WC 2011 and Malik is a part timer. Said when the squad was announced that they are lacking a specialist spinner. Why weren't guys like Asghar and Gohar considered? Even Babar would have been a handful. If there wasn't any good spinners available then fair enough but I can think of 5-6 guys not picked who would walk into most teams at this WT20.

Why did Amir only bowl 3 overs? 2 overs 1/3 and then he doesn't bowl again until the game is done and dusted? If you've put up a low target then the only way you are winning is if you take 10 wickets. You don't get 10 wickets by taking the game deep. You have to bowl out your best bowlers up front. Kohli in the shorter formats is an all time great. You let him settle you lose the game. The only way he could have been dismissed with yesterday's bowling lineup was if Amir bowled his 4 overs up front.

Afridi batting at 3 was a joke. The guy has no technique or ability to rotate the strike, how come he walking in at 3? At 3 you need an anchor. Hafeez scored 70* (49) on Monday and 64 (42) on Wednesday, both on the same venue. Why change something that is working? Why is the most in-form batsman walking in at 7 (!) to face the final over?!

The good thing is that Afridi is retiring on Friday. His bowling is way over the top, his batting is non-existent and his captaincy is shit. Can't recall I've ever witnessed a more braindead cricketer.

This leggie is too good for Afghanistan. Don't understand how SA are not picking him though given all he bowls in googlies.

Imagine if they lost this as well

I'm starting to think the guy that was saying SAs T20 bowling wasn't up to much may have a point...

I think it was zing who said that SA's bowling is pretty good. I think it is only Tahir who is handy and Morkel who is also good in T20s, isn't playing.

I've always thought Morkel is a bowler who you can get after in T20s, same as Abbot. I like Rabada a lot, but maybe its a little too soon for him, and Steyn is liable to have a meltdown in LO cricket (bowling length to Elliot at the death in the WC semis last year for example!)

I've not seen a huge amount of Morris, but he came into the series against England with a reputation as being a decent shorter form bowler and then spent a day on debut bowling the same ball to Ben Stokes in the test series and getting carted to all corners.

Afghanistan still with the run rate after 8 overs and 8 wickets still in hand.

They couldn't, could they?

They could if all the batsmen play to their full potential, they have lethal hitters. Just need to see off Tahir's final two overs.

93 after 9. Keeping up the pace. Like this Afgan team a lot. Need to be give more opportunities in international cricket.
