Yep, we've played a lot of test cricket, but he's still averaging 54 for all those game, so that's legit
Yeah, I was actually surprised by how little there was in it when you compare all formats.

I don't think theres much in it whatsoever, I wouldn't swap Root for anyone in the world and I expect Aussies and Kiwis would say the same about Smith and Williamson.

Aussies let India chase. Need to score big then.
Aye. It's always dangerous to allow India to chase. Especially as neither team (Aus more due to injuries) really contain the bowlers to really change the game if the pressure is on, IMO. Both team have devastating batting lineups though.

Yep, and the ICC have decided to cut the associate teams in the 2019 WC
Shameful decision.

I think in the past we had too many association teams in the WC which lead to several poor matches. But limiting it to say 2 association nations would keep things balanced.

Also what do the association teams have to do to get full status? AFG seem to be progressing quite well.

2 is nothing. Might as well just merge the Champions Trophy with the WC.

Aussies looking fantastic here.

So much firepower still to come too, have that horrible feeling they're coming into their usual WC form.

So, Aus are going to smash through 200 here, and probably quite easily
What's the average score on this pitch this tournament?

India won the recent t20 series all on the flattest of roads in Australia.

Is that why this pitch has been prepared like this?

Dunno about this tournament but Mohali's pitch generally turns out big totals due to shorter boundaries and good bounce. I think in IPL 200+ may have been chased here couple of times.
