Yes i watched the game, why is that in question? Because i didn't see the game in your particular perception?
No, more because you said he can't beat a defender when he did a few times, and when you say his assist was an attempted shot when it was a header. Comments that fly in the face of simple facts make me wonder what someone actually watched.

I watched an average player getting minutes instead of more talented players and putting in a shift, working his ass off and got a lucky assist in a messy situation. I actually said in the first comment that he gives his all, and i never fault a player that plays that way. I just want more from an attacker when he gets those minutes against tired defenders, and I don't classify that as a good performance.

He was active, and he ended up getting an assist. Happy to see him develop, was worried for a little bit.

Nice sub cameo. Was used well today and added what was needed at the time.
Shame about his finish, would have been nice if he could have scored (or at least hit the target).
But got an assist (whether intended or not lol).

good energy, running and hunger when he came on. stretched the everton defence much more than rashford managed.

good squad player to have. obviously jose trusts him and fellaini much more than the fans do.

This is my favourite version of Lingard. The one we bring on to at a bit of grit/energy and not be too flashy in a game we're winning but is slipping away from us a bit... it's the role he's most suited too I think, and it means we're not relying on him to do too much which is often the case when he starts games.

Should start next game and get full 90 mins under his belt. He's putting good cameo performances but this is a time in his career he needs to push on and become even more better player to be considered for regular starting berths.

Burton should be a good test for him. He should be getting the 90 in this one, then we will see his true level.

I thought it was a decent cameo. Hopefully he gets a full game against Burton and does well.

@ around 84min when he received the ball in the box with plenty of space, he turned around and passed backward. Single best evidence of typical Lingard's mediocrity. Martial/Rashford would have done something different there. I mean, for instance, Lingard would have done the same thing 7/10 times, whereas Martial/Rashford would have done something different 7/10 times.

His movement and energy are his best assets. But that's it. He never run/beat his players, can't really dribble, etc. Most of the times, he passes sideway, backward, and a lot of unproductive tiki-taka, that's all.

That said, he is one of the best squad players to have. Happy to have him on bench for 10 years, and starter for EFL/FA cup. Why not !

Weird player. Shows lovely technique in the final third like that somewhat regularly, yet manages to look like he's never played football before fairly often too.

Very good performance from him. His movement totally destroys them and he links so well with our other attackers.

always like to watch him when we are on the front foot. Inteligent player especially around the box

Been quite good. His link up with Rashford and Martial is great. Works well off Mata too.

Telling me to watch the match and then sending me a stats website link... Yeahhh...
Yes because I get actual facts to back my statements unlike some here who talk bullshit without facts.

Stats like that are bollocks and don't account for things. I saw a player constantly either kicking the ball out of play or to the opposition in the first half. I'll trust that.

So even when presented with facts, you're sticking with your own judgement which has already proven to be wrong. Do you realise how stupid you sound?
