That’s partly because the Bundesliga is a cakewalk for Bayern. In the first half of last season Mane only had 7 goals and an assist before he went to AFCON I think?

But yeah Mane is clearly a superior player to Nunez. No doubting that.
I think Mane wanted to move on. Not sure what’s gone on in the background but he’s had his nose put out of place.

Wijnaldum alluded to something similar when he left?

For me, Salah has been playing too wide this season. I think it’s tactical but it’s nullified his goal scoring threat. Interestingly Salah is top for creating goal scoring chances this season but very low down in terms of shots on goal himself.
Yeah there was a stat where he's created more than double the chanes from open player over the next PL player (Kulusevski) before this weekends matches. Salah's doubled his own "scoring chances created from open play" stats from previous seasons, but his own shots at own goal stats have also halved. So he's creating but not getting into scoring positions - probably because he's being instructed to keep more width? Unless Diaz and Nunez can combine to pick up the slack in goals (I doubt it), Salah needs to move closer to the goals or it'll cost you. Especially as you don't really have goalscoring mids either.

what dirt do you have on the moderators to be allowed to keep posting here? All you is say Liverpool are the best and laugh at man utd. I do not want to infringe upon forum rules, so I will say that you clearly have no problems with your personality and are confident in your life decision to post on here. It’s not weird at all.

feck each and every one of your posts.
leave dumbstar alone. you don’t know his story. he spent decades on here with liverpool a laughing stock. decades having to endure united winning trophy after trophy whilst his side scrambled around buying the likes of jay spearing from themselves for vastly inflated sums. then finally, finally, the script was flipped and manchester united started to buy dross and liverpool began to rack up *flicks through pages* one premier league title.

and now it’s all crashing down around him again. the transfer market fails, the puzzling starting line ups, the resurgent devils. it was supposed to last longer than this. he was supposed to get more out of it than this. he was supposed to be able to lord it over delusional united fans for an eternity. he is broken.

One thing Ferguson/guardiola/mourinho we’re/are all great at when trying to build long term success, was consistently refreshing/rebuilding the team from a position of strength, not weakness. Klopp or FSG (hard to tell which) seems to be content just replacing players they lose, which isn’t the same thing at all. Take city for example, lost Jesus and went out and got Haaland AND Alvarez.

Think Liverpool and Klopp are in danger of letting there good work over the last few years go down the pan for a whilst, and the train could have already left the station when they didn’t strengthen more this summer.
When has Jose ever rebuilt/refreshed a team? He's never been anywhere long enough to do that.

You realise the size of violin being played among opposition fans with this repeated shaggy dog story?

You were the biggest club with lots of Sky/flotation money from back in the 90s. What the feck was Ferguson doing for those years before 1999? And where are the CL trophies from 2000 to when Pep and Messi appeared? Why the feck did Liverpool win it in that time? Where was Ferguson?

Bob Paisley won three within 9 years. No excuses made for him. None needed.
Go on son, go on!

Bob won the Old European Cup, harder to qualify for but easier to win than the modern Champions League.

I think Wijnaldum’s exit was money motivated and contract negotiations stalled over his extension.

Yeah Mane wanted out in 2021 apparently but stayed an extra year. Probably a bit frustrated with Salah getting favoured as well.

What's happening with Salah ? He isn't really motivated these days. Wasn't that great against Everton as well.

Salah finally wrangled his big fat contract and is now sitting plum looking less threatening than ever. The next 2 months will be really interesting for the Scouse.

You should have picked up Eriksen in the summer thinking about it.

@choccy77 couldn't secure the move away, then he got banned from the Caf, so it's been a difficult few months for Mo.

If Liverpool come good, one of their players or a member of staff should dress up as a witch and run around Melwood for a bit. Would be lols.

It's a cup competition at the end of the day.

Don't talk to me about the 80s cups. It was a glorified super cup back then. The Irish champs, then the Finnish champs, the mighty Belgian champs then a quarter final against the glorious Swiss champs, French champs and finally a one off against a good team. Joke comp.

Aww, the good old days of David Moore’s pools money and the excessive use of the pass back to the keeper. Glorious.

At this rate, Klopp will be gone by the end of the season. Long live the greatest team to ever grace the league.

To be fair, it's still the first game of the group stage so who knows. They can easily get through still, and probably will

But this definitely isn't a one off game as they've looked ropey most season so far. Something is off

How nice of him to instruct his defenders to stand still in solidarity with the sacking of Tuchel. I haven't seen such a class act since the support of Suarez.

Poch to Liverpool?
They will get better as the season progresses but they need quite the big rebuild. They let too many main players age without replacements, mostly in their back 4 and midfield. Let's hope they get Poch and things go back to normal and Liverpool are a joke again,
