I remember being really underwhelmed by Modric when he first signed and look at him now. He's conistently been one of our best players. Who knows, eh?
Modrić wasn't even bad during his debut season. The Spanish press gave him a ridiculous amount of bad press.

He changed the game at Old Trafford. Gomes is better than people give him credit for. If you're not Xavi, then you ain't shit. Apparently.
First half of that season at worst, and still he just wasn't his best version but at least didn't suck, Andre Gomes fails not only to repeat his best performances with Valencia or Portugal (which, imho weren't that great either), he's even underwhelming for this level

What you need is a new sporting director or something? Didn't that used to be Zubizarreta?

The pitch seems awful as usual in Calderon. They could've fixed that for the final at least. Its like there is glue on the grass.

A new board in general, this club is infected by rats.

Zubi was slaughtered for the bad performance of the team, Douglas and Vermaelen signings were probably the biggest reasons, then Lucho turned it around and made his legacy better with the treble win. Ter Stegen, Rakitic, Bravo or Suarez were signed in his last year and they all have been important after his sacking

You mean City
Oh, lost track of him 2 years ago when I saw him with RM Castilla. How did he manage to fool someone from City to sign him?

He looks like trying to "leave a mark" in the game with those actions as his skills won't help in that regard

Marcos Llorente can make Casemiro at least sweat for his spot next season

Well, end of the Luis Enrique era with a gray season :(

Props to Alaves, they played a great final until their legs gave up.

Good end for Enrique at Barca. A trophy to mask the remaining failure of the season.

Barca needs a lot in the summer in defense and midfield regardless of the manager coming.

They don't. They need a RB and maybe a CM with fresh legs and good at moving the ball against the pressing. Maybe a backup CB. They won the treble with Pique, Masche and Mathieu(plus Bartra) as their CBs, Alba and Alves with no cover as FBs and their backups in CM and attack were 60 year old Xavi and Pedro

Not really convinced with most of their CBs options, only Umititi and Pique. Also their midfield needs an overhaul imo as the great players in it are getting old and their subs aren't as good.

Nice match for Alavés. Played well. Sadly they have like 10 loans. Unsurprising taking into account that last year they were in second division.

I wonder how Valverde will deal with all the political hoopla that surrounds Barsa as a club. Good, solid manager, but I'm wondering if this is only a short term appointment that is doomed to fail.

Maybe he felt he has to try. His big chance. The Bilbao players seemed to really like him and the club respected his decision. The players had a meal with him after his leaving press conference. Shame that at Barcelona it won't take much for some to have a hissy fit.

We only need 1 point in six. No need for catastrophism. We will win one of them. It's about damn time.

Their CB's aren't a problem. Easy for people to blame them but the fact is they play with 3 players up top that do no defending when the ball isn't around the opposition's penalty area and the protection is very little in front of them. Full backs are also frequently way out of position. It's hard to defend in that team because the times when you do a bit of defending you are often exposed and a top attacker is usually better 1v1 than a top defender.

If I have Messi, Suarez and Neymar upfront, I'll give them zero defensive roles, so they supposed to have a defense, midfield and full backs that can cover this.
